Disappointed
I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin. It had a musty smell and needed swept badly. There are some repairs that should be done. The blinds over the sliding door is in need of replacing, panels are missing. We could not use the hot tub, it was not maintained. The location was a callenge to get in and out of. The view from the deck was beautiful. This could be a great cabin if given a little tlc. More...

Rough is Right
In my honest opinion, I would not rent the chalet if I was the owner. However it does look good in the pictures. First and foremost it needs a good cleaning. The floors in the bathroom need to be replaced before the tub falls thru, and the phone didn't work. The blinds over the sliding glass door need replacing. I could go on, but I will leave it at that. I'm sure it was very nice 15 or so years ago, but it hasn't been took care of. We had booked it for 2 nights, but left the next day.

Nice place
Was a really nice stay with the exception of our toilets not flushing! The guy who worked on the cabin was in and out until 10 o'clock at night for two nights. Needed some cleaning up but other then that our family had a GREAT time and will be back in Gatlinburg soon!! More...

Nice location.
We rented the cabin for our honeymoon. We had expected the place to be a bit nicer but it worked out nicely anyways.
If you stay here watch out for the rain water collecting on the wooden walkway. It gets really slick when it rains because it runs off the A-frame roof and builds up a film on the boards where the water is hitting. I almost fell several times walking to the front door. However it was raining almost every day we were there.
The place is a bit secluded and the log book had lots of references to bears attacking the trash cans. The phone didn't work as well and cell phone service was slim in the house. The TV in the living room also didn't work, not that we sat around the cabin long enough to watch it.
The place was pretty structurally sound with the exception of the bathroom. The floor seemed to have some water damage near the tub and was really weak. Give it some time and it's bound to fall through if not repaired. I did however tell the management company this and they said they will check it out. Hopefully they fix it before there is an accident.
I said all that to say this. If you can overlook a few minor bumps, bruises and design flaws this property is in a great location close to downtown gatlinburg, Ober Gatlinburg and the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. With those 3 locations your sure to have plenty to do to stay busy.
