We wanted to have a quick 4 day break during half term but had left it terribly last minute. I sent an email to David Dodd who responded immediately and was very helpful. The larger apartment that David has was booked, but there was availability at his smaller 2 bedroomed one in San Siro. We decided to take the plunge and within days we were at the apartment, overlooking breathtaking views. The biggest surprise, was to be fair the apartment... to say it was lovely does not do the property justice by any means. The layout was really good, spotlessly clean and the furnishings were luxiourous for a rental property. David and his wife Lorraine were great, despite being on holiday with their own family in Lake Como, they went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed.


We would recommend the seaplane which was an amazing way to see the lakes and the ferry is a brilliant way to hop from one side of the lakes to the other in no time at all. In particular we were surprised how good the food was (everywhere) the Italians really do take pride in the food they serve and the people we met were certainly very warm.

We went as a family of four ( 2 boys aged 14) and we are now planning another break in the Spring with our two older daughters..... so if in doubt don't hesitate it really is a good place to go and this particular accommodation is really superb in our opinion. More...

This was our first stay in Italy and it was wonderful. The apartment was in a lovely setting with superb views and very nicely furnished. The location is excellent to explore Como from and we have a great fortnight on the lake. Our boys of 10 and 7 especially loved swiming in the lake and keep reminding us of the fun we had boating on the lake when we hired a power boat for the day. We squeezed in visits to Venice overnight and Milan and both are well worth seeing, Venice especially as it is so unique.

We had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful apartment on Lake
Como. It really is a credit to the owners as the attention to detail is
fantastic. We really had everything we needed there.

It was so peaceful and we loved the nearby church bells which
entertained us every day. The views of Lake Como will remain with
us forever. The children and indeed ourselves made great
use of the pool which we seemed to have to ourselves for the 10
days.
The play-station and DVDs were great for a break from the midday
heat or in the evenings. The small local shop is so cute! The
shopkeeper was a lovely lady and made us feel so welcome, even-
though communication was interesting to say the least!

We spent a lot of our evenings in Menaggio, it is such a pretty town
and we used to just sit having "gelato" or a drink on the Piazza just
"people watching" and admiring the view. There is a nice crazy golf
course there also which we used one evening.

Bellagio was so beautiful that we went there twice. We also
had lunch in Varenna on our last day and it was fabulous too.
We crossed the border twice into Switzerland it is so close.
We have no problem recommending this beautiful apartment to a
couple or a family. More...

This was my second trip to the lake and it was just as good as the first with a fantastic property in a beautiful location.The property was just perfect for us. Our two boys enjoyed the pool and especially enjoyed the fishing with rods being provided as one of the many things that the owner, David ,had thought of.

Having stayed in one of Davids other properties in June 07 I was disappointed but not surprised that it was fully booked not available for our return trip to the lake in September,but really this property certainly was not a disapointment and is as good as the first.I should not have been surprised but it's great to stay in holiday apartment that is even better than you expect.Booking again was a joy with a wealth of information being provided and great communication .The apartment was very stylish and comfortable and the garden was a great place to enjoy the evenings after our days activities. We spent many evenings using the BBQ and just relaxing.Waking up each morning to those views was amazing. It was the perfect choice for our family.The beach in Cremia was a great place for the boys and our day out on a boat was the highlight of our trip.

This is probably the best apartment we have ever stayed in. From the standard of finish of the interior to the wonderful views. The location is amazing and very quiet. There is a small pool in the complex but we had it to ourselves every day! Make sure you take a speedboat trip on the lake - it was the highlight of a fabulous holiday. Eating out is very reasonable and there are plenty of trips you can make from here as your base. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment/area of Como for a holiday. Would love to go back and stay here again. Waking up to that view every morning is food for the soul! More...
