Guest Reviews for Budapest, Gizella apartment

Far more than what we expected
There's too much to write about how much we enjoyed our stay at the Gizella apartment. All rooms in the apartment were very well-equipped with modern appliances and furnishings (including fixed wall heaters and even an air conditioning unit). We especially loved the flatscreen TV in the lounge & laptop with internet access in the bedroom. And having a spacious lounge / kitchen area was a welcome change to the shoebox hotel rooms we'd been staying in! As we had our own car, it was very convenient to park in the secure underground parking. This was a windfall for us as no hotels close to the city had car parking facilities.
The apartment's location was excellent (easy 15 minute stroll to the main shopping) and only 2 mins walk to the tram stops which would take you anywhere in Buda or Pest.
I must emphasise that both Szilvi and Laci were the nicest hosts we've ever had and they made our stay in Budapest that much more enjoyable. Szilvi was really helpful in pointing out the main tourist areas and telling us where to go for the New Years Eve celebrations. A full range of maps, brochures and guides were waiting for us on the lounge coffee table upon our arrival. You won't meet a nicer couple.
We hope you enjoy your stay at the apartment as much as we did whilst exploring our new favourite city – Budapest!

A home away from home
Our host, Szilvi, was most helpful and gave us a lot of information before we arrived and when we arrived. Picking us up from and sending us to the station was a service that impressed us. Unfortunately we had a bad experience (lost our watch) which required us to lodge a police report. Again Szilvi was most helpful in taking us to the police station, translating for us and assisting us in making the police report - exceptional service.
The apartment was new, cozy and conducive to us for relaxation after a hard day walking the streets of Budapest. Much better than a room in a hotel or a b&b. Highly recommended to anyone seeking a home away from home.

Great place to relax after a hard day's sightseeing!
Owners picked us up from the airport on arrival and took us to the Rail
station on departure. They also gave us a means of contacting them during
our stay.
The apartment was clean, bright and comfortable. It contained everything we
need for our stay. The WiFi connection was very useful to do some research
into the places we wanted to see and to email.
The location was very good, quiet, and not too close to the city centre and yet
not too far away with plenty of shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood.
Liked everything. Only minor complaint (well, not really a complaint), would
have liked to press some clothes.
Thanks for everything, Szilvi & Laci, for your contribution to our very
enjoyable stay in Budapest. More...

Highly recommended!
Everything about the Gizella apartment is as stated, or even better. It is
spacious (more so than it looks in the pictures), fully equipped (you can easily
cook if that's your thing), and once you close the windows and the external
blinds it is fully quiet and dark, so you can rest properly.
The hot water runs even at late hours, there's a washing machine, and the
wireless is reliable and pretty fast.
The building has an underground closed parking, so if you come by car it will be
safe there.
The apartment is pretty close to the Danube, and at about 20-30 minutes by foot
from the city center. A tram line and a metro station are pretty close by if you
don't like walking.
The owners are extremely nice and helpful people, they did everything they could
to make our stay better. I can't think of anything I didn't like when I stayed
there, only that I would have liked to stay more. Oh, and the microwave's
buttons are labeled in Hungarian, so ask for instructions :-)
I highly recommend this apartment and I'll stay there again if I'll ever be in
Budapest again! More...
