Vacation Rental Description
Morenish Mews sits in a secluded wooded hollow on the north shore of Loch Tay, with stunning views across Loch Tay to the hills of highland Perthshire beyond. It is ideal for hill walking holidays and for couples seeking peace and quiet and somewhere calm to relax.
The self-catering accommodation at Morenish Mews comprises two apartments in a timber cottage set in the garden grounds, and the Coach House apartment in a 160-year old converted coach house and stables.
Our vacation rental accommodation is also a superb base from which to explore all that Scotland has to offer in the way of outdoor activities and tourist attractions. This tranquil highland setting lies within a 90-minute drive from Edinburgh or Glasgow airports. Our central location means that popular locations such as Perth, Stirling, Pitlochry, Oban, Glen Coe and Fort William are all reachable in under two hours’ drive.
We welcome walkers and cyclists, for whom we provide free mountain and route maps. Anglers can enjoy free trout fishing and coarse fishing from our 300-metre stretch of Loch Tay shoreline.
Morenish Mews is an intentionally small self-catering development that we try to run in an environmentally-friendly way. Having only three guest properties allows us to prepare each holiday cottage personally and thoroughly. While the small size and sheltered location of the properties assures complete tranquility, the small town of Killin two miles away provides a range of services including several good restaurants.
Our highland location, at the edge of the Ben Lawers National Nature Reserve and the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, is ideally situated for lovers of nature and the outdoors. Wildlife abounds in the area. Red deer, red squirrels and a pine marten have been seen in the garden, and over the summer months ospreys can be seen from the property. Ben Lawers is noted for its alpine and arctic flora.
With free wireless broadband access to the internet, our vacation rental accommodation is also ideal for those wishing a working retreat in calm surroundings.

| Ken and Catherine are welcoming and helpful and provide lots of local information and daily hill weather reports! The cottage apartment was superbly equiped, clean and welcoming. The grounds are excellent with access to the loch side, ospreys nesting nearby, daily visits by lots of different small birds and a whole troupe of ducks! We saw deer in the garden twice!! The area is great for walking, check out the Ben Lawers area for big and little walks. Killin has some great restaurants and the Falls are spectacular after rain. I hope we will stay there again soon! |

We chanced on Morenish Mews when looking for somewhere to stay at the last minute in the Loch Tay area, and were not disappointed. Ken & Catherine are the perfect hosts who try, successfully, to make your stay enjoyable and to provide information and tips so that you get the most from the holiday. We were very impressed with the pocket sized laminated 1:25,000 map and advice to avoid the "bad step" on the Tarmachan Ridge on our first day of hill walking.
The location is wonderful, with stunning views over the loch, and a very good chance of seeing the ospreys, as we did. It is also convenient for local facilities in Killin at the head of the loch. The accommodation itself (we stayed in the converted coach house) is clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.
For couples looking for a great place to stay while self-catering in the Loch Tay area, look no further than Morenish Mews, as it won't disappoint. |

| We spent a great week at Morenish Mews, Killin. This was out first time at Morenish Mews and it was just perfect. The owners made us feel very welcome on arrival and were very helpful. We were able to come and go as we pleased but always knew that if we needed any information or assistance, the owners were nearby. The cottage was so clean, homely and cosy and had everything we needed. The cottage sits in amazing grounds and the view over Loch Tay is just stunning. We were pleased to see that the pictures online truly matched the apartment. We'd definitely recommend this house - especially if you're a couple and want some peace and quiet. |

| A beautiful cottage in a very romantic setting with everything you need for a wonderful visit to the highlands. Fantastic location for exploring Scotland with great walks and restaurants nearby. Amazing views of Loch Tay and the moutains beyond from the lounge and kitchen windows. We saw Deer in the garden drinking from the stream next to the cottage almost every night. Ken and Catherine are very friendly and helpful hosts. We have recommended the cottage to all our friends and family and will definitely be returning for another visit soon. |
