Our family spent five nights at Pilrig House during our trip to Scotland and it
was the perfect place to stay! The location was great, the apartment was
immaculate - it truly felt like a home away from home. Every little detail was
included. We've stayed at other places on past trips to Europe, and none
matched Pilrig house for comfort, features, and friendliness. Debbie has an eye
for details and decorating! She was extremely helpful and informative.
I can't emphasize enough what a wonderful stay we had at Pilrig House.
Thanks Debbie! |

Unit was furnished very nicely and had many nice little extras such as fresh fruit and supply of the basics. Unit was also exceptionally clean and I can would recommend Pilrig house to anyone visiting Scotland. RHS |

| We so enjoyed our stay, every detail made us feel special! Fresh fruit, snacks, coffee, milk, perfect for the weary travelers who have been on the road for a couple weeks. Apartment was super clean and comfortable, leather sofas, comfy pillows. Bedrooms were terrific, plush linens and bright rooms. We did not expect to use the kitchen, but did! We took out ready made food at the store just down the street and had terrific, casual family meals without the expense and uncertainy of unfamiliar restaurants. We were eager to return to the apartment after long days of touring the beautiful city. Thanks again for a terrific stay! |

| Pilrig House is a wonderful tranquil haven from which to visit the sites of Edinburgh and sample the many excellent restaurants of Leith. The Balfour apartment, like the house, is full of character and furnished and decorated to the highest order. Helpful owners Debbie and Phillip have added lots of nice little touches and extras which made our stay a definite 5 star experience. No need to use the car, all of the City and port are within walking distance. To start your day why not try having breakfast on the quay side in Leith or call off on the way back to sample good food at the local Guilty Lily pub. |

| With the park out the front and being surrounded by the mature trees and the beautiful and artistically laid out garden, the setting is perfect for this very special house. The city grew round it at some point, but near the house, it is easy to forget this, even though one can walk into town in 20 minutes! We felt immensely at home and truly appreciated your care and eye for detail, your pampering touch, and the warm (and excedingly knowledgeable) welcome which greeted our arrival. Thank you both for the great start to our holiday in Scotland. |

This was our first vacation at home in the UK for 15 years. We have travelled extensively in the US since then, staying at some super properties but none comes close to the near perfection offered at Pilrig House. The attention to detail provided by Debbie and Philip is astonishing.
Pilrig House is ideally situated for the sights of Edinburgh with Princes Street only 20 minutes walk away, re-vitalised Leith with classy restaurants only 10 minutes away and the pubs and local restaurants on Leith walk 7-8 minutes walk and after a hard day sightseeing the situation of the house overlooking Pilrig Park couldn't be more relaxing. |

| Our home away from home!! This was my first time in Scotland and Debbie and Phillip made my experience wonderful. The Park apartment was perfect in every way, all the luxury you could ask for and they had everything we needed and more. Upon our arrival, Phillip met us, gave us a tour of Edinburg, and the apartment was just as in the photos. Pilrig House is set in a quite beautiful park, so a nice get away from the noisy downtown area. After a long day of sight seeing it was nice place to come home to. Debbie, a wonderful hostess, made sure we were taken care of, even finding me a mobile phone! I would recommended the Pilrig House to anyone making a first trip or yearly trip to Edinburg, you will not be disappointed! Our next time in Edinburg we will be staying at the Pilrig House! |

Set in a park, the atmosphere is relaxed and elegant. The hosts where considerate and attentive, giving us tips on places to go and where to eat.

| We have stayed in quite a few holiday cottages and flats around the country over the years and can honestly say that it would be hard to find such a comfortable and well equiped property. In a good location in Edinburgh, Pilrig House is within walking distance of the centre of Edinburgh in one direction and the waterfront of Leith (bars, restaurants, shops and the Royal Yacht Brittannia), yet it was very peaceful, overlooking Pilrig Park. Everything you could think of you may need was provided, and more. The little extra's like the fresh fruit, chocolates and whiskey to name but a few, made all the difference. Plenty of room and equipment for 4 adults, very clean, and great history too. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. If I could find any fault with our stay, it was that we couldn't stay longer. We would definately stay there again when visiting Edinburgh and would reccommend it to anyone. |

First visited May 2008 in 1 bedroom apartment - (just great) and back in 2009 with step daughter and grandkids in Balfour Apt.(2 bedroom) Just sensational, so well equipped and such comfy furnishings. Every thing and more to make our stay comfortable and easy. Thanks for the great starter pack for food, lasted us for days! Love the great easy access to the city, we are walkers, but a bus is regular and easy. Terrific to have some where to park our hire car for trips out of Edinburgh, easy access to route north to St Andrews, Highlands etc..
Hosts are kind and gracious but allow personal space.... Philip a great ambassador for Scotland and Debbie just the warmest and loveliest hostess. Saying thanks is not really enough. Now we have stayed in Garden flat and Balfour apartment , we are trying to have our Australian and Irish family visit and take all three apartments together. Watch out Debbie and Phillip......here we come again! Our grandsons reckon Edinburgh is the best!!!
cheers and best wishes to the best hosts

We had a fabulous holiday at Pilrig House, visiting there over the New
Year. A 'proper' self - catering apartment you could actually cook in,
and every luxury available when we arrived. Comfortable beds, and 5
star hotel facilities
We have 2 children of 5 and 16, and their needs were well met -
games, books and DVD's for all ages.
Near enough to the city centre to be able to sightsee, but far enough
out to be peaceful and quiet - you could see the New Year's Eve
fireworks from the sitting room window!
Edinburgh is a fantastic destination, and we would definitely use Pilrig
as a base again - fantastic owners who took our care very seriously -
lovely, lovely people!
Hire a car and see the Falkirk Wheel!
We would recommend this property without hesitation!

| We had the privledge of again staying a week at Pilrig House for a third consecutive year as we visited our daughter who is attending the Uinversity of Edinburgh. Our experience at Pilrig has consisistenly been outstanding. The accommodation is unqualified in its quality, cleanliness, attention to detail and general good taste. Sadly, these words do not adequately express the superlatives that one could easily use when descriping a stay at Pilrig House. We will forever be spoiled by the high standards that Pilrig House has established for us--not only in its level of accommodation but also as a result of the most welcoming and genial of hosts --Debbie and Philip Martin. We already look forward to our retun in 2010. |

| After searching for a while on the web I was so pleased when I came upon the Pilrig House Apartment site. We stayed 7 wonderful nights in the Balfour apartment, and are still talking about them a month later. My husband, 2 year old daughter, myself and my parents had a great time in Edinburgh but it was nice to have somewhere quiet to retreat to at the end of a busy day. The apartment was beautifully decorated, my mom said it felt like she walked into the spa everytime she went into the bedroom. Debbie and Philip were great hosts, welcoming but not intruding. Everything we needed was in the apartment. Pamphlets & maps? Take out menues? Saran wrap? Toiletries? Tea & shortbread? It was all there. It seemed everything we wondered about or needed had already been anticipated and was available for our use. I can't wait to visit again. |

| The FABULOUS Pilrig House is located in a quiet enclave at the edge of a lovely park, but within a short bus ride to all attractions. While the shell of the house dates way back, the apartments have been completely remodeled and are equipped with modern appliances and fixtures in both kitchen and bath. The apartment was very roomy and beautifully furnished. Our hosts were charming and helpful. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. They left biscuits, fruit, chocolate, flowers, milk, tea, coffee and scotch for us when we arrived. There were loads of little touches, including, hair dryer, robes, slippers, shampoo, toothpaste etc. They provided us with maps of Edinburgh, and brochures of all the attractions. Pilrig House has our highest recommendation. |
