Disappointed

We have rented several times from "Sleep in Italy" and have always been very happy but not with this property. Location was good but the property was not to the standard we had come to expect. It was cold and raining in Rome and there was no heat in the apartment. Also the kitchen and the furniture and fixtures were dated and seemed grubby. We came back one evening to find that someone had been in the apartment when we were gone, had moved all our things and then put the bathroom towels in the washing machine and had left. The towels were soaking wet and no one had left a note or had left us clean towels. It was very spooky so that night, we "slept" with the lights on waiting to see if someone who obviously had keys would return. The next day, the manager of the property said the cleaning staff had been in by mistake but why didn't they retify their mistake immediately by leaving dry bathroom towels. The bedside lamps didn't work and generally the space had a very tired feel. More...

terrible

We had made our reservations over the internet so we did not see the property before hand. When we arrived there was no parking and we had to wait for sometime to find public parking. While trying to contact the representitive about the key my wife and kids who remand in the vehicle, were approached and harassed by a couple of men. She was so scared and shaken that she refussed to stay in the area. The area the apartment was in was a downtown district and filled with questionable persons. We spoke with the owner about my wife's concern about safety and that we were not going to stay in the apartment, but the sleeps in Italy staff we very uncorperative and refussed to give even a partial refund. The apartment itself was clean and had amenities, but the surrounding area we very questionable. We would not recomend this area or company for anyone with children or families. More...

Nice apartment in good location

Was easy to get to from Termini. Also in good location - could walk to the Coliseum in 10 minutes. Apartment was still in a residental area which was nice as it wasn't busy. There was a supermarket round the corner which was very handy.

There were four us in the apartment and we didn't feel too cramped.

Great location, tight parking, poor AC, bad TV set

Parking is tight to non-existent, understandably. I had to circle around for a while until I squeezed my car into the only available opening. Even just getting to the house entrance to unload the suitcases was difficult and we immediately blocked somebody from getting off the street.

The house, the apartment and surroundings are quite old and worn down, but that again is understandable.

The location is great. We walked to the Coliseum on foot. A grocery store is almost across the street. A metro station is about 10-15 min walk away.

The apartment, furniture inside, kitchen appliances, pots and pans, are old, but clean and do not detract from the experience too much. The TV set is ancient and really needs to be replaced. It is nearly unusable. Again, no big deal.
The bathroom equipment was relatively new and all worked well. The only small issue was a hole in the shower hose that was shooting a small water fountain off its side. This made it somewhat difficult to wash our small child on the floor with an open shower door.

The apartment has a washing machine, which was a big help. No dryer machine, only a rack.

The biggest issue was with the AC unit. The apartment does not have a built-in AC system. There was a "mobile" AC unit in the bedroom. It was VERY noisy. Sleeping with the AC working was VERY difficult. Sleeping without AC was also nearly impossible - too hot. This AC unit accumulates condensed water inside and gets full in less than a day, the water needs to be dumped out. The big fat exhaust pipe that shoots hot air out must be stuck out the window. If the unit wasn't so noisy at night, it would be quite OK though. More...
