Amelia House was perfectly located for our party, a very quiet area just a 10 minute walk from the heart of Duval street, perhaps a 25 minute walk to the beach and when seated in the enclosed yard it seemed isolated from everything else. The rooms were a bit snugg but extremely comfortable. Our party included 3 couples and we never seemed in each others way. Highly recommended

The Amelia House is a lovely cottage, conveniently located off the main drag on a dead end street. Bedrooms were large enough to accomodate three couples, as was the patio, kitchen and living room. The down side of the rental was the hot tub. As it was a major reason for renting the house, we were disappointed in the fact that it was not functioning properly. The only time the water was above cool, in the week long stretch, it was scaldingly hot. We called several times, and a technician finally came and supposedly fixed it, but the problem remained. Considering we had rented the cottage for a week, with the expectation that we would use the hot tub every day, this was a major downer......

THE MIDDLE BEDROOM FELT AS IF I WERE SLEEPING ON A BAG OF ROCKS AND WE WERE MOST EXCITED TO ESCAPE TO THE POOL WHICH WE ASUMED WAS NEXT TO USE WELL ITS NOT YOU ACTUALYL HAVE TO DRIVE THERE ITS ABOUT 5 MINS AWAY AND ONCE AGAIN THERE IS NO PARKING! THE HOUSE IT SELF WAS VERY CUTE ADN THE PORCH WAS LOVELY, I DID HAVE TO LEAVE A NOTE TO THE MAID WHO DIDNT NOT CLEAN ALL THE ROOMS OR THE BATHROOM BUT I MEAN FOR IT BEING ON DUVAL STREET SINCE ITS FAR AWAY FROM THE BARS IT WAS NICE AND QUITE AND YET STILL NOT A FAR WALK TO HAVE SOME FUN! |

Our family decided to rent a home for our trip to Key West and are very happy that we found this property. It's a small, quaint home in a lovely setting - beautiful back yard with patio, hot tub, washer/dryer, lots of plants. The home itself is rather small, but perfectly adequate for a family of four. The beds were extremely comfortable, climate control is excellent, and it's very quiet. One of the best things about this place is the location - just one block off Duval Street. We were within just a few minutes of all kinds of shopping, restaurants, and sights. If you're planning a trip to Key West, you can't go wrong with this property!

The house was a prefect size for our group. Beds were comfy and rooms were sizeable to fit 2 per bedroom and kitchen had all the things you needed for a barbque in the back by the hot tub or making a meal at home. It is located on a quiet alley and a short walk or bike ride to the dowmtown. There was a large front porch and a deck area out back. The house was clean and amenities were renewed each day. The staff in the office are pleasant and willing to help with any suggestions you may need. The best thing about the Amelia House is the privacy due to the location being on a quiet alley.

Three couples rode motorcycles from Myrtle beach, SC to Key West and shared this house. It was small but had plenty of room, with 3 BR all Kings, 2 full baths full kitchen, which we didn't use. W/D, hot tub, use of pool in area. Great time. Checking in and out was easy. Only bad thing was very crowded, house was very close together, but that was the norm. Didn't care much for all the cats and chickens running around, but there is a story behind that, too. Love Key West. 2nd visit and plan to go again.

There were 6 of us staying here - my brother-in-law and his wife and our son and his girlfriend. We were pleasantly surprised to see the Amelia House --- definitely an old Key West style home. We loved the back porch/patio with the hot tub which is where we spent all our time when we were not out sight-seeing. The beds were awesome - big and very comfortable. It was very quiet there with lots of privacy - we felt we were in our own little world! Would definitely stay there again!

There is a group of us that come down every year around the same time and prefer to stay in a house rather than a hotel. The Amelia House totally fits the bill. It was so quaint and was in just the right spot. Close enough to Duval but not near all the noise of the night. We have always used Key West Vacation Rentals and will be back again next year.

We enjoyed our stay at the Amelia House. It was a little cramped for 8 of us, but we enjoyed the back porch and hot tub. The talk to the bars on Duval was farther than we would have liked, but still pretty convenient. Overall, a pretty good stay at the Amelia House, but we went looking for larger accommodations in our future trips.

on arriving at Amelia house after a 10 hour drive from Orlando this quaint origonal Conch Cottage proved more than homely for 6 adults and what a relief to tired bodies the spa pool was.
This cottage is far enough away from the busy Duval street to ensure tranquility when desired but close enough to be an easy stagger after one to many Buds courtesy of Sloppy Joes.
The cottage is spotless and the bedrooms spacious with ample living space if a rainy day should rar its head.
Thank you for a fantastic stay.

Even though we live six and a half months in the Keys (Islamorada), we love to visit Key West periodically and, we especially enjoy staying at the Amelia House when it is available. This is our little get-away for a few days. By being able to spend a couple of days in Key West, we are able to enjoy the sunset at Mallory Square and a few nights dining out.
The Amelia House is nicely furnished and even though it is near Duval street, has a quiet setting. We especially love waking up in Key West to the roosters crowing and then having breakfast nearby at the Banana Cafe.
The location of the Amelia House is great, as it is within walking distance to so many places. (Downtown, to the beach, Butterfly museum, Truman annex, Hemingway House, and much more). I also like to spend a few hours relaxing at one of the pools connected with the Amelia House while my husband usually has another appointment.
We are looking forward to our next visit to the Amelia House in Key West. |

I go with a group of ladies to Key West once a year for a girlfriend getaway. This house supplied all our needs. We were right off the beaten path when we wanted to go get in trouble and far enough away to hide when we wanted to relax. The hottub in the back was a great addition. The living room was small, but that was fine because we spent most of our time out back on the private patio when we wanted to socialize. It had a large table with chairs that accomodated everyone. The kitchen was small also but it served its purpose, we really didnt want to "cook" for our weekend anyway! The beds were so comfortable and the layout was perfect for a group. The place would sleep 6 comfortably, 3 couples would even work great. I would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed in the home just before Xmas. I was quite disappointed with the fact that the pool was about three blocks away. When I booked through the internet the pictures made it look like the pool was right outside the back door! I would not have taken this property had I known the truth. I was also upset that the hot tub was not HOT and didn't work half the time. Also - no closets - what's that about? We were with several other people and we were all NOT IMPRESSED. The patio area was also very dirty. I am afraid I would have to say I would not recommend this property to any of my friends.
