Guest Reviews for Luna Encantada C-3

The Perfect Vacation Rental
We have stayed in this complex for two consecutive years during Christmas week. It is pricy, but well worth the expense. Unit C3 has the added benefit of a rooftop deck where we spent many hours reading in the shade under the overhang. There is plenty of direct sun for those who want it as well. The view is incomparable. You could jump down to the sand from the balcony, and the people watching on the beach is superb. The unit is well furnished, although the one deficiency is that there is a lack of good reading light. There are many entertainment options in the unit (TV's, DVD player, free wireless internet, free phone usage) which really make this a home - not a hotel. The kitchen has all the amenities, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are large. As for the location, the complex is in the heart of the action with the main pedestrian street at the end of the block. There is no better location in Playa. There is an active scene next door at Fusion, and New Years Eve brought on a loud dance party on the beach, but this is a vibrant destination that pulses with people and activities especially during prime holiday time, so that is to be expected. Unfortunately, as Playa has grown in recent years, there is now a water shortage in town due to infrastructure limitations, and our water was turned off twice during our stay (once for about 6 hours) but that is probably only a temporary issue and one which is more likely to occur during peak travel times such as when we were visiting. It's Mexico - one just has to accept it.
I would go back in a heartbeat, and would absolutely recommend unit C3. There are other nice units in the complex, but only 2 on each floor have direct beach facing exposure (the building is in the shape of a U around a central pool.) My philosophy is that you get what you pay for, and I recognize and appreciate the added value of the location.
If you like snorkeling, go to Akumal for the turtles and Puerto Morelos as well.

Fantastic location and accomidations
My family and I stayed at Luna Encantada C-3 in September 2009 for my 40th birthday. Upon arriving at the condo all everyone kept saying was 'wow!'.
The location within the city was fantastic - close to restaurants, bars and shopping - but it was the view and condo itself that was the most amazing. Waking up see the beautiful beach and crystal blue water was a wonderful way to start every day.
My family enjoyed the wrap around patio on the third floor and rooftop cabana with hammocks. We were able to make dinner a couple nights in the spacious kitchen and everyone was able to spread out in the condo with the couches, chairs and patios. We spent some time at the vanishing edge pool overlooking the beach in the common area and I liked the secured access to the property as well.
The stay exceeded our expectations and we agreed we should make an annual trip to C-3. I highly recommend staying at the condo at Luna Encantada C-3. More...

A remarkable condo with unparalled views!
We just returned from Luna Encantada C-3 and loved it overall! The place was very spacious! Plenty of towels and fresh water. It was nice and cool once we asked Benjamin to help lower the temp for us. Wal-Mart was an experience..it definately does not feel like a tradiitonal American Wal-Mart..but had everything we needed. There were two things that I thought were slightly disappointing about the condo. One was the night club on Friday and Saturday nights, Fusion. Very loud drums until atleast 2 am, (but very cool if you don't have to get up early with a toddler)during the week, there was no problem. (I am not sure that the condo really has any control of the noise) The other thing was the grill. I guess I was expecting a gas grill, so when I found a charcoal grill, we did buy charcoal but found it to be in not so good shape. We left an unopened bag of charcoal there for the next occupants. Also, no source of flame. (We are not smokers either) So we did buy steak and chicken to grill but ended up pan frying them for fajitas. I loved the collection of cookbooks in the condo and would tell anyone who is going to wal-mart, to look at the cookbooks first before you make your grocery list..some excellent looking mexican cuisine in there. Beer was cheap! Loved corona's or pina colodas on the balcony in the afternoon. Pool was so clean and wonderful!!! Loved it all!!! Will return to C-3! More...
