Picturesque, Convienient, Fantastic!

This apartment is located in the Dorsoduro sestiere of Venice, along a peaceful and quaint canal, a few minutes walk from Ca'Rezzonico and Campo San Barnaba. Although close to amenities, the area had a secluded, magical feel that I absolutely loved. I also found that the Dorsoduro was my favorite part of Venice overall, full of lively campos and charming small canals. I highly recommend this location!

There were two excellent grocery stores within a ten minute walk: the Billa on the Zattere, and another on Santa Margherita Campo. Even closer were the excellent bakery of Rizzo Pane and the GROM gelateria on Campo San Barnaba, our favorite restaurant Pane Vino e San Daniele on Calle Lunga S. Barnaba. There were plenty of other good looking restaurants and cafes in the area as well.

The building was old but apparently in good shape. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet -- I loved waking early and listening out the windows, hearing nothing but the lap of water and creaking of boats. The furniture was in excellent shape and the house was very clean. The beds were very comfortable, and the bedding itself was of very good quality. The bathtub was ENORMOUS! It was probably the deepest tub I've had the pleasure of bathing in, and it never ran out of hot water.

I was blown away by how nice the apartment was -- the pictures on the website are nice but it was even better in person. And it was so spacious and yet homey.

Views on Venice were fabulous! We made all arrangements via email. We managed to lock ourselves out on the first day just before the office closed, and the representative at the office agreed to stay 15 minutes late so we could race over to get the spare key.

I would most definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone! The only drawback I can see to this apartment is that if you really wanted to be in the center of the nightlife and bustle of tourist activity, you might prefer a location closer to San Marco's. But for us, it was perfect! More...

Fantastic Apartment & Location

We have travelled to many locations over the years, but Views On Venice stand out above all others for organising accommodation. From the original enquiry to final departure the service was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. The apartment, "Ca'Canaletto" was located along a quiet, but attractive canal, just a few minutes walk from the main waterways, water buses, restaurants and supermarket. The property offered all the amenities, including portable AC unit and was clean and in good decor.
Being close to the main water buses meant that we were only 10 minutes away from St Marks Square, but also within 5 minutes walk to canal front restaurants where we could watch anything from small boats to cruise liners pass by.
The supermarket offered most essentials and considering the weakness of sterling, prices were reasonable.
Best way to arrive at the apartment is by Water Taxi from Marco Polo Airport - ?95 but if 4 people are sharing the cost then very convenient, particularly if you arrive late at night like we did. We departed Venice by service bus to the airport costing ?52 for 4 persons.
We purchased a 3 day water bus pass (?33 each)for unlimited travel, not cheap, but by far the most cost effective. We certainly made use of them travelling to other islands, doing the complete circular tour on the No.1 bus and going back and forth to St Marks.
Of course, St Marks is a must - the tower, Basilica and the Doge Palace, but move well away from the Square for eating and drinking, unless you have plenty of money! The atmosphere, however, particularly at night with all the musical quartets is something not to miss.
Watchout for cover/service charges when eating, a few restaurants have dropped them, but it's not unusual to pay ?3 per person just to sit down.

Venice is an exceptional city and would strongly recommend "Views on Venice" to arrange your accommodation. It is an expensive city, made worse by sterlings weakness, but worth every euro! More...

Venice is a magical experience.

Ca'Canaletto is a fantastic apartment. The furnishings and fit out are of a very high standard.
The location is extremely good - only a few minutes walk from the Grand Canal. There are numerous restaurants and bars nearby, also two very good supermarkets. The living area has a great outlook over a canal. We have visited Venice 3 times before and would have no hesitation recommending this apartment to others.
We also found the people from Views on Venice to be very friendly and helpful - from our booking on the internet to our meeting Irene in Venice. More...

Very modern, very well refurbished apartment with quality furnishings and fittings. It is close to very good local restaurants and shops. Views on Venice were again excellent in arranging for us to stay and meeting us to take us to the apartment and show how things worked.
