This was NOT our first choice. We originally rented a "cabin". Our trip was scheduled for 3-12-10 thru 3-14-10. This is what my 7 year old wanted for his birthday. I was called on 3-9-10 asking us to come on up to the cabin a night early for 1/2 price! Unfortunaltely we were not able to do that. Then on 3-11-10 I got a phone call from Cabins USA telling me that "something happened to the water and they would have to move us". They chose a "chalet" for us. I said we wanted a cabin. So they named off a few but they only slept 4-6. There was 8 in our group (4 adults and 4 children). So we took the chalet. It did have a nice view (through the brush). It was roomy but had spider webs EVERYWHERE! The utensils in the kitchen had a lot of dired food on them and the pans were horrible. Not a lot to choose from so we just went out to eat. The bathroom doors looked like someone had vomitted on the floor and it splattered on the doors! The bathtub had hairs ALL IN IT! The home was NOT CLEAN AT ALL! We didn't call the office because we already had our personal belongings in the home and we didn't want to be stuck in the home while they "cleaned" it. It would take quite a bit of cleaning and we didn't want to spend his birthday in the house. There was a message from the housekeeper requesting "a tip". I paid a $40.00 cleaning fee when I made our reservations for the "cabin" so I assumed they would use that. The house did have a pool table and fooseball table that the children enjoyed. On the morning we were leaving---we finally found the remote controls to the bedroom televisions (they were under the beds). Funny place to keep them!
We have rented from Cabins USA over in Pigeon Forge in the past and were well pleased. Hidden Peaks needs a good, elbow greased cleaning then it would be ok for someone who doesn't desire the "cabin ambiance". More...

I sent you an email while I was there. The lady at the office told my husband that the manager had gotten it, but I never received any response!!!

I LOVED THE VIEW....IT WAS PERFECT FOR A GREAT VIEW AND QUIET ... WE LIKE TO SHOP ALOT SO IT WAS KINDA FAR FROM PIGEON FORGE .... I LIKE THE CABIN MORE THAN A CHALET.... THE PLACE WAS DECORATED REALLY NICE LIKED THE LAYOUT .. BUT IT WAS VERY DUSTY DUST ON CEILING IN DINING AREA .. BATHTUBS WERE FILTHY BLACK. RUGS IN BATHROOMS FULL OF DIRT ... NOT TRYING TO BE MEAN BUT IT WAS PRETTY DIRTY .... DUST ON STRIWELL BANISTER WHEN SUN SHINED IN COULD SEE GOOD .....

We loved the lay-out of the house. Everyone had some privacy when needed. It had a great living area with fireplace which was open to the kitchen allowing everyone to be together. The house was tastefully decorated in mountain decor.

The location was fine for us. However, if you have trouble driving on narrow, curvy roads it could be a challenge. The seclusion on the top of a mountain with its view was what we enjoyed! It still was just a few minutes away from downtown Gatlinburg (Gatlinburg's lights were distantly visible).

The house had a washer/dryer and the kitchen had the basic items needed. There was a game room which was on the lower level that was great because the noise did not travel upstairs.

We liked the view best of all from the top floor. The sunrise was awesome! We'd recommend this cabin rental highly!
