1411 Jones Ave Tybee Island, GA 31328 This fully renovated cottage faces East and is hidden behind a canopy of Grapefruit , orange , fig and lime trees. Non smoking- even on the porches please. This Mid Century All Electric home has been restored using the "reduce, reuse and recyle" concepts. The owners were as "green" as possible - the energy star high efficiency washer, dryer, refrig, the blinds are bamboo, all the rooms have ceiling fans to circulate the air inside and all light bulbs are CFL. The original 1950's bathroom is still Mamie Eisenhower pink which was the color of choice for the women of the 1950's. This cottage is the beach home of a couple from Tennessee who had discovered Tybee a few years ago . This beach haven reminded them of the shore towns they had visited as a children. The home is a summary of the owners' love of the ocean, coastal south and the wonderful memories they have from trips to the beach. They look foward to sharing their cottage with others who need a peaceful retreat to rejuvenate and create "Memories at the Beach with their family and friends.

| Mermaid Cottages is the best. They are ready at a moments notice to answer questions and make everyone comfortable. A wonderful "Southern Hospitality" experience. The cottage is peaceful, the beds comfortable and just a wonderful place to feel the ahhh of slowing down. One of our favorite restaurants is Sting Ray's and it is less than a 5 minute walk from the cottage. The main beach to watch the sunrise and the back river to watch the sun set were only 5 to 7 minutes away. No need for a car. We enjoyed relaxing on the porches with the ceiling fans and checking out the features of the cottage along with it's reading materials about the area. I will return and reccommend Mermaid Cottages and Memories at the Beach to my friends and family. Thanks Diane and the Mermaids! |
