Watch the surfers from the mirror as you brush your teeth! Fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the ocean waves as they break not 50 feet away from you! Enjoy walking on the rocks and looking at the tide pools, not to mention the sea turtles as they play in the water and come up on the beach. There is a small sandy beach just below the lanai great for sunbathing. Snorkel & board rentals on site & well stocked convenience store across the street. This unit has high speed wireless internet, cable TV, DVD player, Plasma TV, stereo/CD player, movies & games. Better than we expected, still, a few suggestions.

All in all we loved our stay and hope to do so again in 2011.
It was farther away from Kailua-Kona City (& our friends at the Billfisher.) My wife couldn't take her morning walk with her friend there.
(Previously, we stayed for 3 consecutive years at the "Kona Reef".)
We enjoyed (and insist) having a King sized bed, but it was not as firm as we would have liked.
A few suggestions:
The glass doors are on backwards.
It makes it very difficult to keep an open door & still feel secure at night.
The blender hadn't been washed (yu-uck).
There was only one bath matt. Luckily we didn't have guests.
A 'handicap' bar would have been nice in the shower.
Loved the Flat screen. It's needed as there is really NO night life.
There was no VCR & the DVD could not 'decode' Closed Captioning.
On my Blu-Ray at home I go out from the Analog outputs to video input 2. (the HDMI is in HDMI 1). I tried that here (bought the wires) but it still was a 'no show'.
I know, nitpicking, but we do come to Kona every year. We look forward to staying there again.
