| Nice enough house for the price, nice spa, quiet, easy to get to. The house was pretty stale and reminded me of a grandmas house. One thing I didn't like is the fact that you have to haul and dispose of your own trash an do your own dishes and put them away. What are we paying for? |

| My first experience was to drive up to a home that has trash all over the front yard then a walk up stairs that are not to code and scary. Once inside - It was dirty, no paper towels, one set of towels for 4 adults for two days. (I don't think so) Backyard had dog remains. The lights are broken in front of the house so at night it is a real challenge to get in. This house needs TLC before anyone rents again. |

Great fun for kids |

Our family had a really fantastic few days at this great cabin.
We were lucky enough to have lots of snow and in particular our kids loved sledding down the long slope at the side of the house. Also there was a great selection of children's videos and even a few board games, which they loved.
One slight issue was there was not really enough bedding or bath linen. We had booked the cabin for 7 people and there were just not enough blankets and towels for everyone. This would not have been a problem if we'd known before we arrived and we still had an excellent time.
The adults enjoyed the heated outside spa, though the pump did not work correctly. We did notice that the spa was regularly checked by a contractor every few days, so I guess we were just unlucky.
Another word of caution is that we got our cars stuck a few times getting to this cabin even with chains, as the road in had several small but steep hills. This just added to the fun.
All in all we had a really great time in this cabin and would certainly return again. Thanks! |

Enjoyable weekend |

| My husband, son and a friend of our families stayed at this home for a weekend of snowboarding. It was our first time in Big Bear so it was a little further from the slopes than we had expected. As for the home itself, its no frills, not secluded and needs a little cleaning. I cooked all the meals except one dinner and there are some basic kitchen items that would be beneficial. It's probably not a big deal for them to provide a measuring cup and measuring spoons, perhaps some new non stick pans. It certainly would have made things easier. The bathroom was filthy, the rug needs to be cleaned. Overall this place is "okay" for eating, sleeping, and taking a quick shower. |

We enjoyed our stay at emerald moon. For all purposes of being away from home, we still had the luxury of a full kitchen and separate rooms. The cozy atmosphere was great for slowing down with the kids and rebonding.
However, more towels would have been appropriate. We did not have a visit from the cleaning service, we made due with what we had. We did make a trip to the store for more toilet paper and to buy towels. So I recommend bringing your own. I also felt that especially in the kitchen area, specifically the floor and the celing fan, and some of the dishes that it could have been cleaned a lot better. There was a lot of dust on the celeing fan above the kitchen table. There was a significant amount of grime around the stove. Some of the dishes needed desperately to be washed before we used them, not due to "dust" or lack of use, but due to a sticky substance on some of the silverware and glasses. For the amount of the rental, we did expect that to be clean. Despite the fact that we obeyed the "quite" agreement, the renters in the property above us were not quite. The seculusion advertised was a little misleading as well. The cabin was in no way seculded. Yes there were trees around the property, but there were cabins within ear shot and really visable all the way around the cabin.
There were also several lights that didn't work around the property. Upon realizing these things, the office was already closed for the day. Also, I wasn't too happy about not being able to have our desired tempreature in the cabin., due to a regulated thermostat. I feel that the amount of money charged for our stay, these issues should not have been a problem. We did deal with it and enjoyed our time.
We had never been to big bear before and now we have an idea of what to look for when we decide to go again.
Big Bear is a beautiful place and definately a great relaxing place for a family to bond and reconnect. I do recommend the atmosphere for sure. |

| It was a ways from downtown and the lake. Not a bad commute. Most things were functional. It was alright, nothing special. If I were to go again I would probably pay a bit extra and stay in one of the resorts down on the water with a pool. |
