We had a great stay - we absolutely loved the Mountain Shamrock Chalet! We didn't have any issues with the chalet. We liked how open the floor plan was and how both rooms had whirlpool tubs. We would definitely come back again. Great vacation - 6 bears, 1 elk, 1 owl, 7 wild turkeys......priceless!! Next visit we hope to see a bear at the chalet!!

We had a little trouble finding the chalet in the dark as we were late getting into town. Is was lucky we didn't get shot turning around in other people driveways and even trying to unlock the wrong chalet. But we found it, although it would have better if the tree blocking the chalet name was trimmed so that the sign could be seen or move the sign.

We had a great time there and we will likely rent it again. We had great service from the office staff. We also like the idea of NO registration or cleaning fee, that's the way it should be.

Thanks,
Clyde & Brenda

This was our 1st time as a family to go on vacation, so we decided that a chalet was our best option wth a 2 and 4 year old. The chalet was clean and very comfortable with lots of great amenities. The layout of the floor plan is very private. We loved the jacuzzis and the hot tub. We didn't use the sauna (maybe next time). We will be back.

We have stayed with Mt. Laurel may times, and this is one of our favorites. Very big bedrooms, lots of windows with lots of light, plenty of space. Large very well equipt kitchen as well. Out of the way, which means that it is very quiet!! The hot tub was a hit for everyone. A little hard to find if you do not know what roads to look for and the printed directions that we receieved were missing some information, but we found it. The radio was something to deal with...was on full blast when we got there, turned it off, it turned on a few times on it own (getting louder each time), finally just unplugged it.
Overall a GREAT place to stay! Very close to Pigeon Forge, I think we got to Dollywood in ten minutes!

We had a good stay at Mtn. Shamrock We have stayed with mtn. laurel before and that is why we chose to stay with them again.. Mtn. Shamrock is a little outdated but a comfortable place. The dryer was broken and I washed some clothes and went to dry them and realized the next morning after they soured that it was broken.. I didn't call to tell maintenance or anything though or I'm sure they would have come to do something about it. We had a bear come up to our chalet the first day we was there. We went up on the front balcony to watch it and it climbed up on the retaining wall and looked like it was gonna try to jump us. It was a little scary. We went in and it went around back and climbed up on the back porch.. We got some great pictures.. Overall we had a good stay but the bear definately was the best part of the trip.

We really enjoyed our stay here with two kids. IT had everything we needed, and we didn't feel crowded in the least! WE all just split up and did our own thing! It was a quick trip down Wiley Oakly, and we could be in either Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge in just a few minutes- so we did both! My husband and son enjoyed the pool table, and My daughter and I enjoyed the sauna and hot tub. The beds were so roomy and my husband and I have a VERY hard time with beds on vacation- but this bed was just right! The only thing I had issue with would be to have more light in the bedrooms. The decks were very cool!

We loved staying at Mountain Shamrock. There were 2 couples. Both bedrooms are large with big tubs for two. It is located in a private location with a nice flat driveway. My husband was eating his breakfast on the deck porch and a big black bear came up our driveway about 6 feet from him. The bear didn't bother him and let him enter back into the house. We all ran to the kitchen door to see the bear. It was amazing!

My daugter, three grandsons and I had a quiet and restful three nights at the Chalet. Check in was pleasant and professional. Overall, the experience was pleasant. Just a few suggestions:

1) Bedroom on main floor - needs more lighting. Also, light bulbs in existing lamps. I removed bulb from sauna to use in lamp.

2) Needed more than 4 washcloths for 5 people. Was told during check out that it's only stocked with 4 washcloths due to two bedrooms. At time of reservation, it was mentioned there would be 5 occupants - it my thinking you need at least 5 washcloths. We had a good number of towels.

3) Had dish towels, but no dishcloth. I realize I could have gone to the office and picked up one, but should be a check off list for items when stocking for new occupants.

Going back down the mountain to pick up supplies was inconvenient as we exited and entered the area from the Chamber of Commerce entrance.

4) Broken skyline should be repaired.

Thank you for the opportunity for giving feedback. We enjoyed the Aquarium and other sites.

The first thing I would like to express is the maps you recieve to find your chalet...this one is easy to find as long as you drive back thru G-burg and go up the mountain by the Welcome Center. The map is inaccurate goin from the office straight up the mountain and across to the chalet...I know roads are constantly being added..and what was a dead-end once has been opened up to connect to other roads, but maybe an updated map is needed. The Chalet had some issues...leaky kitchen sink and dishwasher. Some light controls did not work, cobwebs in the sun windows...when I plugged in my cell charger behind my nightstand in the bedroom, I felt alot of cobwebs. The shelves by the fireplace were not dusted either. The Fridge shelf was fallin apart. However, the beds and overall chalet was quite comfy..the hot-tub deck was missing a slat..I walked down the hill and retreived it...set it down close to where it came apart...the upstairs back deck rail is rotting pretty bad..However, everything else was great...furniture, beds were comfy...The HotTub was great for relaxing sore muscles after walking all day...the whirlpools were outa-sight too...great picture on the flat screen downstairs..We read the memoirs book and everybody thought the stereo was possessed or the Chalet was haunted...Then we experienced the stereo comin on by itself at all times of the day and night...We figured it was on some kinda timer...I unplugged it and thought if it comes on now we might HAVE a haunting..lol.The experience was great though...Next time I will rent one with a mountain view...I just like it better than a wooded surrounding...I've rented from Mtn. Laurel about 6 times in the 90's...I've been about 4 more times since then and was not happy with the other rental companies so I came back to Mtn. Laurel for this trip...and will stay with you from now on...The Office people are very nice, polite, and pleasent...

This is the fourth time our family has rented from Mountain Laurel Chalet. We have had a great experience every time.
Our family had a great time vacationing at Mountain Shamrock. We felt our rental was a good value compared to other rentals.
The bedrooms were far enough apart for some privacy. The hot tub was wonderful especially after hiking in the Smokies. There was plenty of room for everyone. Wireless internet was a nice bonus.
We can't think of anything we didn't like about the chalet. We did get lost the first time we went up, but we figured it out, and it was easy to find.
We also swam at the clubhouse which our family enjoyed.
We would stay at Mountain Shamrock again.

We rented this for a weekend away with our grown sons. They enjoyed the pool table and the flat screen TV. We loved the hot tub and the sauna! The layout of this chalet is really nice - with one bedroom downstairs and the other one upstairs. This is great for privacy. Yet, the open design with the living room, kitchen, dining room, and the area for the pool table gave us the ability to be together in the main section.

The only drawbacks were small things. We would have liked to have the light switches labled. It took a while to figure out which switch turned on what light. We made do with the kitchen equipment, but I'd like to see some baking sheets, a whisk, and a couple of casserole dishes added to the supplies.

We've stayed in several other chalets over the years, but this one was our favorite. The layout and amenities were all we needed. The location is so convenient to the by-pass so we did not need to drive through town to get into the mountains. I would definitely consider staying at Mountain Shamrock again should our party size require a 2 bedroom.

This property is an idea situation for two couples to share a quiet weekend. The floorplans give you a bedroom on either end of the house for privacy as well as open living space for visiting, eating meals together and entertainment such as playing pool, cards or board games. The kitchen space is large enough for more than one cook. Our trip consisted of two days of hard rains and we didn't even care. We will definitely consider renting this house again. Excellent rental price - less than some hotels which give you only four walls.

The pictures do not show the current conditions of the home as of Jan 09. This Chalet needs so updates, first of all there are lots of drywall cracks throughout the home, windows that are cracked, skylights that are cracked, the shower head in both bathrooms are way to low you have to bend down to get your head wet, some of the hot tub jets not working properly, pool table not very usuable, it's torn and the end is coming off. My wife and I have stayed at a Chalet in Gatlinburg at least once a year with friends and family for the last 8 years and this is our worst ever experience.

This home was not at all as described in the ad. All I can say is they had a major problem with bugs, the plumbing didnt work (no hot water, and the outside hot tub was down)and the beds were so old they could have been government salvage from WWII.

You dont want to stay here unless you are a maintenance man who loves to work on his vacation. And the rental people wouldnt refund any of our money, or offer a different house. This was a total rip off.
pin Manager Response: November 14, 2008
We are sorry you experienced problems during your stay with us. We cannot find any work orders turned in during your stay. Please allow us the opportunity to make your stay comfortable by reporting any problems you may have to the office. Someone from maintenance will attempt to remedy the problem ASAP or if we are unable, we will offer you another chalet.

Since your visit Jan 07, both mattresses have been replaced with new sets and the hot tub has been repaired. All of our chalets are on monthly extermination year round to control pests.

We have stayed at Mt. Shamrock three times and we love it. It doesn't have the breathtaking views of distant mountains that some have, but it more than makes up in interior beauty of the home and "woodsy" feeling of sitting on one of the decks(there are 4) and enjoying the peace. There are other chalets close by but the orientation of the house and the trees give it a private setting. I have recommended this chalet to friends.
