This was just a weekend getaway for my wife and I. This was not the best chalet or the worst we have stayed in. Until the chalet is updated some, we would probably not stay here again. The driveway is tricky but we knew that beforehand. The secret it to pull up the drive to the switchback and then back up it the rest of the way. When we left we just pulled straight down the drive and back out on to the road.
The view was wonderful. The amenities were great. The upstairs could not have been better. Our only complaint was with the downstairs. The carpet was very dated and stained in several places. The main issue was with the mold and mildew smell in the downstairs. We could not find were it was coming from, but it was very noticable. It did not make the stay unenjoyable though. Just after a few minutes staying there, we could barely even notice it. |

Manager Response: October 19, 2009 |
| Thanks for the review. We will make sure the owner of the chalet gets your suggestions on the furnishings. As you may already know, we have had massive amounts of rain this summer and it has created a lot of moisture problems in the chalets. We have placed dehumidifiers in many cabins to try and combat the mildew, but until it dries out some, we are fighting an uphill battle. Sounds like we may be gaining ground at Sugar Booger if the smell is not noticable after a few minutes, so that's good news. We hope to see you in the mountains again soon. |

| Everything was lovely. We had a great time. The place was very quaint and quiet, which is exactly what we were looking for. Loved the fireplace and being able to eat breakfast on the patio with a great view. I felt as though the sheets made my legs itch, but it didn't happen to my fiance. So it really might have been just the water from the shower drying out my skin. The jaccuzi had a bit too much chlorine in it. It made our nostrils burn, but it was incredibly relaxing anyways. All in all, we had a great and relaxing trip, which was the whole point of it. Thanks for everything. Oh, and the free WiFi at the Chalet office was very helpful. We had to do some stuff for work at the last minute and ended up driving to Pigeon Forge to get WiFi, but called and asked the front desk where. They informed us that we could use the WiFi at their office. We stayed in the car and were able to access it. Very helpful. Thanks again. WE WILL BE BACK!!!! |

| My husband and i needed a relaxing vacation, and the sugar booger was the perfect location, the view was spectacular, we occasiomally heard a neighbor BUT never saw anyone, nice and secluded. The cabin was more and then we expected and we felt at home. The only 2 problems: one the pool table was in a room to small and couldnt make shots from 2 sides, and there was a strong mildew smell in the down stairs bathroom, we left the exhaust fan on all the time.We were sorry the last morning we had to leave. Thanks for a GREAT first trip to the Smokies. |

Great Chalet, Stocked, Amazing View, but Minor Improvements |
Reviewed by: CBadalaty from Cincinnat, Ohio

This chalet was exactly as advertised. My
girlfriend and I went for our 2 year anniversary.
We already knew about the driveway so that was a
breeze. The chalet was surprisingly stocked with
everything you need such as Kitchen Utensils and
cookware and such. Too hot for the hot tub but the
jacuzzi was amazing. Felt great to simply sit on
the deck and relax to the great view and the sound
of the mountains. I would suggest returning to the
chalet before dark since the road its on has a
northern counterpart and the road its actually on
has a non-reflective sign and practically invisible
at night. Found that out the hard way. Priced
perfectly for a couple looking to get away for a
weekend. Because the price was so great and we had
such a great time its hard to dwell on the cons.
However, so there are no surprises, here they are.
The pool table was more like a toy pool table, the
hot tub didn't seem too appealing, and the overall
chalet just needs some minor attention. I would definitely recommend the Sugar Booger for anyone
not looking to spend a whole lot but still wants to
have a nice romantic getaway. |

| The view was awesome and the upstairs was great. However, the downstairs was in desperate need of updating. There was a strong odor of mold and mildew coming from the downstairs bathroom that was almost overwhelming at times. We closed the door and turned on the fan to help with the odor. We stayed three nights, but had we booked for any longer, we would have left - even if we had to pay. My husband has heart disease and he was concerned about breathing in the mold and mildew. This cabin could be great if the owner would tear out the old wallpaper and flooring and give it a good coat of paint. I love the heart of the Sugar Booger, but would not stay there again nor would I recommend it to anyone else. Service from Mt. Laurel was great. The hot tub leaked and the coffee pot was broken, but they replaced the coffee pot and the maintenance man filled the hot tub. It leaked out again so we just didn't bother using it. The cabin was clean and the upstairs was comfortable. There are some boards that are beginning to rot on the outside so look out for that. |

| Thanks for the comment. We will take care of this offending odor and hopefully it will not be a problem any longer. In the future, please let us know if anything is wrong at the house and we will either take care of the problem or switch you to another chalet. Our priority is your comfort and enjoyment of your time with us. |

| If you've got a low-profile car...back up the main drive-way into the 'No Trespassing' yard and pull into the Sugar Boogar. You'll bottom out if you attempt to pull up and back in. Great place to stay for a couple...no complaints. Upstairs was great for entertaining and the hot tub is just a few paces away from the chalet. The pictures on the site are deceiving. |

I came up on 6-11-09 with my then boyfried for a little R & R, but when we got here the power was out and we both said: "no this is not happening to us," but then again as a couple we were okay for the moment.
The housing was country cozy but we enjoyed it and would return again. One thing I would recommend is to always read the reviews before making your decision.
We read the reviews regarding the driveway and so to us it was not that difficult to handle; the one recommendation that we would suggest is to make sure the outside pole lights are working if your coming in late at night, because it is difficult to back into the driveway in the dark. LOL...
My now finance` and I will return again. |

| The wife and I stayed @ the "Sugar Booger" in early March. The chalet is definitely worth the price. Yes, the driveway is a bit tricky the first time up, but you quickly learn to drive up the shared driveway towards the upper cabin, then back up the Sugar Boogar's drive. The weather was pretty wet while we were down there but the chalet is so relaxing we really didn't care. I could look out those windows at the mountains forever. We have rented with Mtn Laurel chalets several times, and have yet to be dissapointed. |

The only problem we had was the drivaway just like everybody else but it wasnt hard to figure out and it didnt bother me any. If u drive passed it a little and then back up it, u will be ok and when leaving just drive to the top and turn around then go down. It is really steep but dont be scared of it. I hope everybody enjoys it like we did. We had a great time and will return. Billy Arceneaux, Kayla Cole from BATON ROUGE,LA. |

The drive-way was a little tricky...we just drove all the way up to the top, backed into the drive above Sugar Booger, turned around and drove straight into Sugar Booger's drive. |

| we loved this cabin! we were warned about the driveway, but we didn't have any trouble with it, you just have to be smart about how you drive in and the lady at the front desk when we checked in even told us to drive past and back in. this cabin was very romantic and it has a wonderful view, the tram goes right above the house! the hot tub outside is not as far away as it looks like it would be from the pictures. i was afraid we were going to have to walk a long way to get to it but that is not the case. the only problem we had was when my fiance was sitting in the bed watching tv, he looked down and there was a large brown spider crawling up his arm. needless to say, he freaked out. it did resemble a brown recluse spider.i wrote about it in a comment thing they gave us, so hopefully they will spray for spiders!!! |

In the spring of 2008, the owner closed the house for remodeling and put down hardwood flooring in the upstairs, replaced the kitchen cabinets and countertops and changed out many light fixtures. It looks great! We hope you are able to come up and see if for yourself soon. |

It is in terrible condition, and if you did not have a truck or suv your vehicle would drag. I think the owners or rental company should be made to tell all prospective renters about the condition of the driveway. I know for sure we would not have rented the house if we had known the condition of the driveway. |
