Wall unit air conditioners offer sleeping comfort in the main floor master and downstairs bedrooms. Mixing business with pleasure is no problem: a second floor office comes equipped with a desk and features wireless internet via a Linksys network connection. This year-round Up North retreat has an abundance of activities nearby and on-site. Birchwood Country Club amenities are available seasonally for our guests, including 27 spectacular holes of pristine northern Michigan golf, professionally staffed tennis and golf pro shops, 8 tennis courts, heated outdoor pool, world class dining, complete clubhouse, hiking and biking trails, miles of cross country ski trails, and more. Daily usage fees apply. Downtown Harbor Springs is only 5 minutes away for shopping, water sports, public beaches, dining and entertainment. The Midwest’s best ski slopes at Boyne Highlands and Nubs Nob are 15 minutes away. Take a day trip to Petoskey, Boyne City, Charlevoix, Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island and the Upper Peninsula.

We did a family reunion in Pine Tree Cottage. We were seven adults
and one child, plus a guest for two nights, from California, Florida,
Maryland, New Jersey and Illinois. None of us had ever been to
Harbor Springs before, except me, when I checked out some rental
houses in April. The spot is lovely, with a view of a rolling horse
farm, the road, and trees. The horses were splendid to watch in
their corral every day. The house is well appointed and
uncommonly well laid out, for a large group like ours. We loved
the big deck. Everybody got a bit of private space, the bathrooms
were plentiful, and the furniture is comfy. The 11 year old was on
the trampoline every day. We didn't use the facilities of the
Birchwood Country Club because the fees were too expensive;
more reasonable golf and tennis can be found nearby. I did swim
in the pool a couple times, because it was only $3. Overall, we had
a collectively wonderful time here. |
