Guest Reviews for Serenity

Great House, Up keep issues
The house was the perfect size and location for our group but the furniture needs updating, better cleaning and maintenance crews are recommended and certainly a better pool heater, (in NJ in February you can swim in an outdoor heated pool) dishwasher a joke...it never cleaned the dishes. The outside pooldeck , barbeque, furniture and gate pathway were all filthy and un-kept. The beach items closet was a mess and linens should be checked for cleanliness. Overall, we had a good time and would consider this home again with some of the issues addressed. More...

Serenity
I stayed here with my family over Christmas. The house was spacious and very clean. The pool was a little cool, but the children had fun splashing around and swimming. The location is great- just steps from the beach and the view from the master bedroom is beautiful. Overall, it was a great experience that my whole family enjoyed. More...

We had a wondereful three weeks in this lovely vacation home
Serenity houose is beautiful and very nicely equipped. It was almost perfect for our extended family to spend some time together. The house has a huge amount of storage space, with four bedrooms and four full baths as well as a washer and dryer. The kitchen is great with filtered water in the refrigerator door and the living room, dining room area is beautiful We especialy enjoyed the beautiful private pool. We found the staff at Island Vacation Properties to be very helpful and non intrusive. They were friendly very responsive to requests from us.
I do have a couple of suggestions. (1)The pool has a raised area on the deck just inside the back gate which is the exact same color as the main deck. There is no reflective paint or tape on the edge of that raised area and it is invisible at dusk. We had two memebers of our family have bad falls coming back from sunset as a result of missing that step. I fell on the second day we were there and landed on both knees and my elbow. Since I am in my sixties, that was a pretty bad fall for me. I was unable to go in the water for the first ten days of our vacation. Fortunately my injuries did not damage my knee joints and the painful skinned areas healed okay. One of the children also fell. I think it would be wise to mark the edge of that area with reflective tape or paint so it is more visible. (2) The stepping stones on the side of the house are too far apart and result in stubbed toes. (3)Your information books need to be updated with information about garbage pickup as they picked up on different days than the ones listed. (4) While the house was clean and the pool service was great, there are some area such as the sliding glass door tracks and outdoor furniture which have years of built up grime that needs to be addressed.
All in all we had a wondereful experience and have already booked for five weeks next year.
Thank you so much for a great experience.

needs some TLC
I wrote a long review when I checked out. Basically, this house needs some major improvements with furniture, lamps, bed linens. Needs painting and a new stove. Pretty much run to the ground and needs TLC.
I have stayed at this property a few years ago and have seen how it has gone down hill.
The pool also need attention every time we rent and we have to make calls to get it done. For the price of this rental being at the higher end of the areas beach rentals, you should not have to call with bothersome repairs that should have been attented to prior renting. The location is excellent. More...
