We have rented this unit before and loved it so much that we always ask to rent it again. The condo is beautiful. The owners, Judy and Butch Whidden constantly upgrade and keep the unit in mint condition. The place is totally furnished including the kitchen with a water saving washer and brand new dryer. The kitchen has been newly refurbished and opens up the living space. It sits right on the beach with a beautiful ocean view. One of the toilets was running slow and the maintenance person was right there to fix it. I can't say enough about how beautiful the unit was decorated and what a great time we had. The only suggestion I have would be to add two small tables to the deck so that you have somewhere to set your morning coffee or play a board/card game in the evening. This was the first time my brand new pregnant daughter-in-law was there and she gasp when I opened the door. Her comment was, "This is better than our honeymoon." They stayed in Disney.
We plan on returning in the next few years. I hope this review does not put us on the bottom of the rental list.

We have stayed in the Island Club for 15 years and this was the nicest condo we have stayed in. It was just beautifully redone and is gorgeous! My family spent a week at Island Club 5502. The main reason we booked this unit was based on the pictures of the unit and amenities. Needless to say, we were quite happy with the unit. The recent remodeling made this unit the nicest condo we'd ever stayed in and we fell in love with some of the furniture in the unit. Numerous guests asked us if we were in the unit with granite countertops so we assume others saw pictures of this unit when booking their vacation. The condo is decorated very nice but does not have that "beachy" feel. We were fine with that, but if you like the furniture and decorations to have a beachy theme, this may not be the right unit for you.

We really enjoyed the pool area. A guest told us they had recently updated the pools and it showed. We were impressed and our 2 year old had a blast in the kiddie pool and feeding the ducks and turtles. We went off season (early to mid September) so there were no crowds. Some mornings, we had the pool to ourselves. While the pool area is nice, I'm not sure it is large enough to support a large crowd during peak season.

Overall, I recommend looking at this unit and Hilton Head for your vacation plans. More...
