We were very please with the Villa. My husband loved the walk in shower, I would have liked a tub but just because I am a tub person. the Villa was clean. The neighboors were friendly. We are hoping to come in 2010.

We just spent a week at Plantation Dunes St Andrews condo. We had a wonderful time, the conbdo was perfect for us. The
condo was close to the beach, you could walk, take a bike or your car depending on how much gear you need to bring to the beach.
Everything in the condo was in working order and we were pleased to
learn that the pictures online matched the home, although the outside picture doesn't do it justice. We'd definitely recommend this condo. We'll be back next year. |

Stayed here the week before T.S. Hannah came around. Very clean and comfortable-feeling. Pet-friendly with very nice furnnishings and a comfortable king bed. We had three issues during our stay:
1) Palmetto bugs. We saw at least one every night. It's hard to be at the beach and not have bug sightings, but we felt this was a bit excessive. Monthly spraying took place late in the week, and we didn't see any after that.
2) The light switch in the bathroom didn't work, so we had to turn the light bulbs with our hands to turn the lights on and off. Once we complained, the property mgmt company fixed it, but this should have been fixed before we got there (the bulbs were loosened so they were 'off' when we got there, so they HAD to know this problem existed)
3) The internet connection didn't work. We called the prop mgmt to complain, and they said they would call the ISP to come out and fix it. After two days, we called them back, and they hadn't called. They then told me (quite unapologetically) that it was MY responsibility to call the ISP to get the internet fixed. I called and it got fixed, but I really don't think I should have had to worry about this on my vacation.
So, all in all, we really liked the property, but had some issues with the property management company. We will likely use a different one the next time we come to Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head (which we do every year). |

Manager Response: November 06, 2008 |
Dear Ms. Warner,
Thank you for taking the time to write us about your stay at 1951 St. Andrews Common. I am glad that you found the villa clean and comfortable. As you can see from the other reviews, this property is very popular and has been the source of many happy vacations.
I am truly sorry that your stay included a few issues. As you noted, palmetto bugs are present on the island and are usually controlled by monthly sprayings. In the future, should you ever feel that a treatment is needed, just call uys and we can have them come and spray again. As you witnessed, sprayings do work.
Please know we were not aware of the problem with the light switch. The villa was inspected a couple of days before your arrival and the previous guest did not have a problem. Possibly the cleaners who were sent back to tidy the villa were the first to notice the problem. When they could not turn the lights off, they may have loosened the bulbs. Unfortunately, they did not notify us. The first time we were made aware of the problem was when you called us. We immediately call an electrician, who did replace the faulty switch.
For the internet problem. You must have misunderstood the person you were talking with when you called our office. We were and did send out someone to repair the light but you needed to call the help number listed on the phone to get back on-line. The internet provider requires that someone call them form the sight of the problem. They can then remotely fix the problem or walk the guest through to a solution. Glad they were able to help but I am sorry for the confusion.
Please know that we take pride in responding quickly and courteously to any problems that may arise with our properties. Should you ever feel that we are not doing so the please ask to speak with me, the owner, or my general manager, Mike Wood. I assure you that you will receive the service and consideration that you deserve.
Cordially,
Paul Cale |

| We stayed in 1951 St Andrews Common in August 2008. For a one bedroom the unit is good size and was in excellent condition. The bathroom and kitchen have been recently updated. We would stay in this townhouse again. |

The condo was clean, neat, comfortable and most importantly was ready at 4:00 PM as advertised.
The view from the patio was of the 15th fairway of the Fazio course and just past the fairway was a pond/lake with an island in the middle that we named Bird Island. The tress and surronding water was full of large and small birds and Cranes and Eggrets that came and went throughout the day.
Highly recommend this location because it was quiet and across the parking lot from the pool. |

| This was a very cozy and clean rental. Close to the pool and a short drive to the beach. Although it was only a one bedroom, it appeared larger because of the layout. We enjoyed our weekend in this rental and will probably book it again for another long weekend in the futrue. |

This was our first visit to Hilton Head Island and we had a great time. The location of St Andrews Common is excellent with a lovely outlook and very peaceful surroundings. The accommodation was of a good quality and it had everything we needed. No complaints about it at all; the only caveat being that it was on the ground floor and was a little bit on the dark side being well shaded by the trees. Probably a great advantage in high summer when the heat is at its highest.
The location was perfect and once we had made the decision to rent bikes it was perfect for cycling to the beach and the nearby shops, enabling us to park the car and use it as little as possible unless we wanted to travel longer distances.
It was also very handy for taking the hour's drive to Savannah where we spent a great day taking in the sights of this beatiful city.
My only regrets about our stay at 1951 St Andrews Common was having to leave at the end of our holiday and my decision not to travel with my laptop computer - the apartment was fully equipped with wireless broadband and I couldn't take advantage of it!
Would certainly recommend HHI and St Andrews Common to anyone thinking of visiting the area. |
