Heaven on Earth
Piliana is truly Heaven on Earth. In 2010, we will vacation there for the 3rd consecutive year. If you wish to experience Aloha, this is the place to do so.

Beautiful, but scary
This is the prettiest, most comfortable, million dollar plus vacation house you can imagine! I LOVED being inside this house, but the location was the scariest I've ever seen. We almost didn't stay there, but it was late at night when we arrived and we had no other place to stay. The beach in front of the house was occupied with people living on it in makeshift tents. They were not just camping out! Trash, such as broken furniture, was everywhere and driving to the home on the only access, which was along the beach was frightening. Fortunately, nothing happened! Maybe our fears were unfounded after all. Most certainly, however, that beach was not someplace where we wanted to spend time. We drove to the North Shore to enjoy the sun and surf! While that was awesome, it was very disappointing to not be able to utilize the beach right in front of our house, which is what we had imagined and one reason we picked that house! (The photo was rather deceptive.) We had a great vacation on Kauai, but never felt completely comfortable in that gorgeous home. What a shame!

Kauai on the beach
We loved the property, the grounds, the house, the decor - all perfect for a group of 8. We weren't prepared for the amount of homeless people camping on the beach, to the left and right of the property. They were not disruptive and we never were fearful that they would do harm - we just found that to be a surprise. That would not prevent us from staying there again.
