Looking straight ahead off the deck you can see the full city of Asheville, sun on the buildings during the day and all the lights at night. It is breathtaking. You also have a clear view of the Grove Park Inn. This property is centrally located with area attractions including Asheville, the Biltmore, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Please be advised that there is a steep windy mountain drive to this cottage because of high elevations. 4x4 IS REQUIRED TO GET TO THIS PROPERTY YEAR ROUND due to steep gravel road.

There was nothing we needed to bring here but our clothes, food and a 4-wheel drive. The 4-wheel drive being essential as the road up needed some work. This property is like being at home. Everything was supplied including a washer and dryer! Even our pets who are part of our family enjoyed the stay. I wish there was a bit more room for them to be walked around.
There is no doubt in our minds we would stay at the "round house" (what locals called it) again. The location was perfect....secluded but near to many sights. It was our idea of a vacation place....which still feels like home. |

Yes, the road is an adventure and a 4WD is the safest bet to get up and down! I hope you enjoyed the gorgeous view from the living room and the master bedroom as well! It must have been full of oranges, yellows and reds throughout the valley and up in the mountains.
I am wondering if you tried to walk up the mountains with your 4 legged family members. The road is steep, so I could understand how the hike could be strenuous. I have climbed the road with my dogs and found a trail through the mountains which was delightful.

| We were fortunate enough to be able to enjoy peak fall color from this beautiful cabin. The views are truly breathtaking and we took advantage of the deck and the large windows. The cabin is very well equipped and has many extras that make it a standout from other properties we've rented. We plan on visiting Asheville again in 2009 and hope to be able to stay here again. |

We loved everything about our stay at Eagles View. The house
was amazingly clean which was important to us and all the
amenities made every minute of our stay enjoyable and marking
the calendar for our next visit.
The view was breathtaking and all the windows in the house
made sitting on the deck, washing, dishes or getting up in the
morning a picturesque moment.
Those responsible for the house and the cleanliness should be
commended.

Amenities Abound @ Eagles View
Lovely home and very well apointed. Nice quality bed linens and towels. Extra soaps, popcorn,coffee, laundry supplies,food storage items, even a few spices. Very clean. Downstairs area great for children, Board games and a great DVD collection. Comfy futons.
Great mattresses. All only minutes 20 minutes or so from Downtown Asheville. This hiome is well cared for and loved. Spectacular views. |

We found this location by searching for dog friendly rentals.
In previous rentals at other locations it was often the case that the pictures of the rental overstated the location or left out certain embarrasing details.
In the case of Eagle View it was quite the opposite,the actual vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains,in a wraparound panaroma from Eagle View are literaly breathtaking,promo pictures do not do it justice.
The warnings about requiring an all wheel drive are accurate,however after one trip up the drive becames routine.
We will definitely be back. |
