My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at Slow Living Cottage!!! After planning our own wedding, we needed a place to get away from all the craziness and bustle for our honeymoon. We loved that the cottage was close enough to metro Asheville (15 minutes to the city) and the surrounding attractions, yet isolated enough to feel as though we were returning home after our day's adventures.

The hot tub was also a very excellent addition. We had romantic evenings relaxing in it and staring up at the stars--what clear skies and quiet, serene surroundings!

We also loved our little visitors from the surrounding woods! Roosters, cats, birds--they showed up every morning to keep my wife and I company as we enjoyed our breakfast.

We stayed for a week, which was just long enough for what the cottage has to offer. It would be perfect for a weekend getaway as well!

This was a honeymoon stay, and the cottage was just about perfect. It was close enough to town to be convenient, and secluded enough to be private. The hot tub was great, and there were fun critters aplenty hanging around at night. Fun to watch!
The decor of the cabin was quite nice - rustic, but modern at the same time. (The only slight hitch was some missing soap for the shower, but we took care of that while in town the same night.) Overall, the cabin was great. We would certainly stay there again!

Slow Living Cottage is a wonderful place. It's a perfect size cottage for 2 people with comfortable and functional decor. The owner lives right next door and is gracious and non-intrusive. The setting is perfectly quiet, yet within 20 minutes or so of downtown Asheville. Weaverville, the closest town, is surprisingly quaint and fun. We would definitely go back to this wonderful place...so much more to explore!

Carolina Mornings responded promptly, acted efficiently and was a perfect management company. The cottage itself was elegantly but simply designed with all necessary amenities except, and only necessary to a small fraction of us, a coffee grinder. The location was perfect.

One of the owners lived next door and was invisible until needed. The automatic igniter on the gas grill didn't work and neither my partner nor I had matches. We walked next door, not knowing our neighbor had any connection to the cottage, and were greeted warmly, provided some matches and pleasant conversation. We felt welcomed and appreciated.

A fine place for a couple or one person who wants a getaway.

The perfect place for you and that someone special. You'll feel as comfortable as you would in your own home. A quiet and secluded location help you unwind and just "be." We think the property also doubles bunny farm. We literally saw four or five rabbits hopping around each day. It was also really convenient being only ten minutes from downtown Asheville. We will be back!

We would suggest getting a better heating system. We were there in April and was a little cold at night.

would recommend for young couples.

We love everything about Slow Living Cottage! This was our second stay there in three months, and it certainly won't be our last. The cottage is thoughtfully designed, bright and cozy, and the property is very private. We especially enjoyed breakfasts on the comfy front porch, visits from the neighborhood cats, and long soaks in the hot tub under the stars. Asheville restaurants and activities are within easy reach, as are hiking trails of all sorts. Best getaway possible for a busy couple.

What is not to like--you can do birdwatching on the porch, read a book in the window seat, enjoy a nature walk with Marlis, or relax in the hottub under the stars.

Slow Living Cottage was lovely, secluded, and exactly what we needed for our weekend away. Nestled in the woods, the cottage was clean and fresh. The owner uses "green" products and the cottage seemed well-designed to stay cool and comfortable without needing the A/C provided. It's located about 15 easy minutes north of downtown Asheville and convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway and white water rafting among other activities. If you are a road cyclist be aware that there is a 1/2 mile or so of gravel road getting to the cottage. We found it to be the perfect place to a couple to unwind and reconnect.

We loved everything about our stay - the lovely woodland setting teeming with wildlife, the hot tub and the beautifully furnished and decorated cottage. The little extra personal touches by the owner were particularly appreciated, eg the slippers, the birdseed for the feeder on the verandah and her kindness when we needed to change our itinerary for health reasons. This cottage really merits its name of Slow Living Cottage and we would recommend it to anybody needing to escape the stresses of modern living.

The pictures of this cottage do not do it justice. There has been a great deal of thought and design that went into this structure. It's a blend of contempory, open design, and confortable, earthy nature. Everything was very clean, and worked just as it should. This is an excellent place to truely get away from it all. The owner has everything you need to unwind, and get back in touch with yourself: a hot tub that you can actually see a sky full of stars in, a window seat with a view of nothing man-made, and two of the most relaxing lounge chairs my husband and I have ever sat in. However, you should not rent this cottage if you're looking for stimulus. There's no cable, etc. This is a place to get away from all that.
