The cabin was very pretty sitting in the mountains. The house was cozy. I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the kitchen. There were mouse droppings all over the counter tops. We planed on using the grill outside only to discover at dinner time that it was out of gas. We had another couple show up at the door claiming that they had rented the house for that time and when we tried to call the office no one answered. That caused us to loose the since of being alone and of privacy. I had no problem with the house but thought the staff in care of the house was very lacking. For the amount of money that was paid we were very disappointed.

An amazing, secluded cabin and an amazing rental company staff! |

Regarding the cabin, Sunrise Cottage, it is the ideal place to escape. It is totally secluded and was the perfect honeymoon destination for us. During our 9 days we saw more wildlife than people :-) While secluded in a peaceful setting, this cabin has all of the amenities, is in amazing condition, and is well-furnished. Best of all, it has one of the most amazing views possible for a mountain cabin rental. We enjoyed countless hours on the deck as we were reminded that "the heavens declare the glory of God (Psalm 19:1)"
In addition, the Carolina Mornings rental company is absolutely amazing. They were incredibly thorough in all details and communications with us. They also went the "extra mile," something that is rare in today's market. From taking more than an hour on the phone to help me locate the perfect property for our trip to doing extra touches for us since it was our honeymoon destination, I was amazed at the service received. Their vacation specialists took the time to understand our desires for this trip, located the property for us, kept in touch with us, and then went above and beyond to make sure we had all we needed for the perfect trip. If I ever need a rental in the area again, they are the first people I will call.
You can't ask for a better cabin, a better view, or a better company with whom to work. |

My new wife and I spent the second week of our honeymoon at Sunrise Cottage. One of the best things about the stay was that everything was as good as what we saw and read on the web. The whole area is beautiful. We had a good day at the Biltmore and a couple of great meal in Asheville. We also took side trips to Hendersonville, Black Mountain, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Lake Lure. Breakfast on the deck with the Mountain Laurel blooming all around the house was a great way to start the day. We received good service from Carolina Mornings, especially the day that we woke up realizing we'd had a bear visit the garbage some time during the night. We plan on visiting again and would use Carolina Mornings.

| Vacationed with my two adult children during college spring break. The house is in a great location near Asheville, Chimney Rock Park and Lake Lure. The house had wonderful views and was very cozy. The kitchen was fully equiped and we also utilized the gas grill. I would definitely recommend it to couples for a romantic getaway or for family gatherings. |

I stayed at the Sunrise Cottage in Batcave with my boyfriend and we
had a fantastic time.
The house was perfect! It has 3 bedrooms with plenty of room for
large groups or just the 2 of you.
It was so peaceful. Just the perfect vacation.
The views were incredible. It has 2 terraces one off the main living
and dining area and one down stairs off the the 2 bedrooms.
The master suite located upstairs was a dream. The house is
located at the top of its own road so it felt like a secluded getaway
while being just minutes from the local market.
It was clean and fresh even though they allow pets you would never
know it. The welcome basket was such a nice personal touch.
I have having stayed it many rental houses over the years and
Sunrise Cottage was the best experience.
We can not wait to plan another trip and bring along a few friends
as they were all very jealous of our pictures.
Thanks again!

| We really didn't know what to expect upon arrival at the cottage. Driving up the steep mountain on the way to the cottage our ears were popping and everyone was so excited. When we pulled up, the view was unbelieveable. The pictures posted on the website did no justice. We proceeded to enter the cabin and it was beautiful. There was a welcome basket full of goodies, and everything in the cottage was just as it seemed online. Every window has a gorgeous view of the mountains that surrounds the cabin. The time of year that we scheduled out trip was perfect! So many different colors everywhere. The cottage is litteraly a 10 minute drive to Chimney Rock, and a 15 minute drive to Lake Lure. I've already recommended this cottage to all of my family members and I highly recommend if your looking for a quiet, beautiful place to stay for a few days, come to this cottage!! |

The company write-up on this one is Right On! The views are lovely - the sunrise is a WOW! Our family gathering was so enriched by the welcoming feel of this charming property. Walks in the woods, playing games by the fire, soaking in the hot tub, and sharing family time in the tastefully appointed great room couldn't be beaten.
The owners were carefully thoughtful in providing for our needs. One suggestion - if you want to use the TVs on the upper and lower levels, bring your own DVD/VHS movies as only the main level TV receives satellite. We hope to return to Sunrise. |

If we use this rental company again we will verify that it is cleaned before we check in and no animals have been there. |

This marvelous cabin was a get-away for myself and seven friends, feting a bride-to-be for her bachelorette weekend. Asheville was far enough away not to be any kind of intrusion on the quiet and gorgeous scenery, but close enough for a daily jaunt. Although the drive getting to the cottage was a bit of an adventure in our wee hybrid rental car, it was worth the one or two moments of nail-biting down the track to emerge at the house and behold the stunning vista of the mountains right off the decks.
We had a lot of people, but the house accomodated us all beautifully, and we had a marvelous time. I can't wait to come back with my husband and daughter for a family getaway, as well. Thanks so much to Carolina Mornings for the easy transaction, and for helping us locate and easily return the lost pair of earrings from a bedside table! Will definitely recommend this cabin and the website to others, and will be a repeat customer myself without a qualm. Thanks again! |

Positives:
Great view, quiet, no one else around, house had a lot of natural light all around, jacuzzi, nice kitchen
Could be better: TVs were poor quality/small, furniture and furnishings were somewhat hodge podge and did not match up to what was a pretty nice home, it was a long drive down the mountain much less to Asheville, BIG bees were all over the back porch in the evening.
In the end we received a discounted rate for a last minute booking though I feel that rate was probably appropriate for the house. And despite above comments we would consider renting again with the only holdback being we would rather be closer to Asheville.
Katie at Carolina Moorings was extremely helpful and a joy to work with. |

The cabin was wonderful with fantastic views. The hot tub was great as well as the decks. Overall a great experience.
ONE MAJOR ISSUE: There was no TV the entire stay. We called and someone came out. He was unable to solve the problem and we were told that someone else (Larry?) would contact us. There was no attempt to contact us at all and we all had cell phones. Since my 12 year old daughter was with us this was quite an issue for her. I was disappointed that there was no attempt to solve this problem and hope that the next renters did not have the same issue. We had to drive into FlatRock to the Blockbuster to get movies so that she did not go insane. I actually thought about asking for a partial refund, but did not want the idea of having to "haggle" with someone over money effect my stay.
Thanks,
Kim Jackson |

| Sunrise Cottage was a great place to stay. The hot tub, grill and side of mountain view made it ideal for getting away from the city. Everything you need is not more then 20-30 minutes away. The house is nice, plenty of sleeping relaxation space. We had a small reunion of friends from college and this place was perfect. Sitting on the deck remembering our college days and grilling as much as we could was exactly what we needed and we got it. Take the scenic drive to Asheville, it is a lot of fun !! |

| We stayed at the sunrise cottage for a weekend and found it to be a very nice property that had beautiful views from the multilevel deck as well as from the large windows on the second and third floors. The master bedroom was extremely nice with a jetted tub and a gas fire place. I would say that the property would be tight for ten people and the hot tube is rather small with a maximum capacity of four people, in my opinion. Overall the property was very well mantained and offered privacy but was still relatively close to area attractions. |

| We rented Sunrise Cottage for a week and loved it. We found it to be in great condition--clean and well stocked with needed items. The view was spectacular. It's about 30 minutes from Asheville and 10 minutes from Chimney Rock which was convenient and yet out of the way enough to get some privacy. We would definitely stay here again and hope to in the near future! |
