The home is located in a scenic setting off of Poplar Grove Road (near Yonahlossee Resort between Boone and Blowing Rock). Convenient to ski resorts in Blowing Rock and Banner Elk.Sleeps up to 10 with 1 king in upstairs master. Downstairs has 1 queen and 2 twins. Sleeper sofa in loft and sleeper sofa in finished game room (unheated room). Paved parking for 4 cars. Need 4-wheel drive in winter. NO SMOKING OR PETS! s. Sleep sofa in finished game room.Paved parking for 4 cars. Four-wheel drive suggested in winter. NO SMOKING OR PETS!We rented a mountain home every year for the past 3 years and this is by far the most accommodating out of any house we have rented. Southern Comfort has been a wonderful vacation spot for
our family and friends for two years in a row. It is
spacious for the kids to play inside and out. We took
advantage of the full-sized, working kitchen and cooked
breakfast and grilled out for dinner. We packed lunches
for our full day of adventure in the Blowing Rock and
Boone areas. Bring your own bedding and towels and
you'll be comfortable in the bed and bath. Rental
instructions say to also bring cleaning supplies, but we
found most of those items there. Paper products are not
included beyond a "starter" set of toilet paper and paper
towels. Well worth the price and the drive. You'll be "off
the beaten path" but will enjoy the journey! |

| This house was perfect for our group. We loved how beautiful the woodwork was, the fireplace, spacious living areas and bedrooms. The only drawback was that the basement was really WAY TOO COLD to sleep in. So, the numbers that the house sleeps needs to be reduced and not include the basement during the winter months. Or, maybe a heating source needs to be provided in the basement. We would also like to have been provided with a map of the area from Jenkins Rentals including nearest retailers, ski resorts, etc. and the best ways to get there. Being unfamiliar with the area, that would have really been helpful. We would have gotten maps from mapquest ahead of time, but were not given information about the property's location until we picked up the key. Thanks to the owner's for such lovely accomodations. |
