Location was easy to find and get to. The condo had all the amenities and was as it was represented in the description. Not the owners fault but I felt the layout, bedrooms downstairs, w&d up, with a "playroom or loft" upstairs was unusual and their was no view of the water (blocked out by condo row in front). But given the time of year it provided a perfect getaway over Thanksgiving and I'd rent it again. More...

We decided to go South for a change for a little sun. October can be cold in Canada and we wanted to stimulate our own country's economy instead so we decided on Outer Banks. We had not had a vacation in two years due to salary cuts so finding a house online within our budget with Southern Shores was a pleasant surprise . They were easy to work with and answered all my questions. My only dissatisfaction was that we were told linens were not provided - this within hours of departure. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with beautiful, clean linens! So welcome after a long, tiring drive.

We all ADORED the rental hom - it exceeded our expectations in every way. A fully equipped kitchen, bicycles, 3 bathrooms, washroom - all pristine and state of the art. It truly helped to add to a memorable experience. We are so grateful to the owners...they take immaculate care of the home, right down to the beautiful decor. It was an easy bike ride into Duck (though many were closing shop for the season week we were there).
We wished the weather would have been nicer, but we took our complaints back when we arrived home (11 hours north) and it was cold and sleeting!

We look forward to another stay in Duck. I would recommend Southern Shores for your rental needs. They are down to earth and very helpful.

The home was very stocked with items from gas grill and propane to bikes, and beach supplies.
Loved the very well maintained house, we will definately try to rent this house again.
The owners should be complimented.

The place is beutifully decorated and furnished. There were fabulous sunset views from the sound on the pier. The area is so quiet and peaceful, we even saw a fox and deer in the neighborhood. Our family will definately be back to visit the OBX.
Our only complaint was the first day there, we had no A/C on the upper level.. and it was sooo hot. We called the emergency number, but it was the next day before someone came out. This was a little inconvienent because the kids were sleeping in the upstairs bedroom and they were a bit uncomfortable and whinny. Overall, we were very satisfied. More...

We love this place so much we came back a second year. The inside is beautiful and comfortable. They have bikes and beach stuff to use. We love crabbing off the dock on the sound, and the sunset views from the upstairs deck are great. You can't see the sound that well from the unit, but the place more than makes up for that. Please don't rent it the week we want it this year!
