A much needed break |

| We loved our much needed long weekend get-a-way. It was very close to the beach, quiet and very tastefully decorated. I loved that it was centrally located to the local dining as well as the beachfront shopping. Walking to these places was a breeze. Also, the beach rental equipment was awesome. If I had to give one negative on the place, it would be that the shrubbery and trees needed trimming back. The taller trees interfered with the satelite reception and there were some shrubs that had poisen ivey, which I am highly allergic to, growing along side of them. Other than that, I would definitely stay there again. |

Awesome Tybee Beach Cottage! |

| My girls and I had a wonderful time at the C. Byrd Cottage. Only 2 blocks from the beach it was awesome. We had everything we needed, all the comforts of home, and the service was impeccable. The girls (ages 10 and 11) got a big kick out of the hand-delivered beach themed cookies. We had to use tech support twice, once for getting laptop connected to wireless and then to operate the VCR; both times, he was there within minutes and had us up and running in no time. We will definitely be returning to Tybee and will stay at one of the Mermaid Cottages again! |

The C Byrd cottage was just lovely. The living area was cute and comfortable. My favorite area to relax at the cottage was the private, enclosed porch and garden. The patio furniture is comfortable and lots of beautiful blooms! The cottage was well equipped to cook a simple meal. The beds were comfortable and the cottage was in a quiet area.
Of course, the big hit of the C Byrd cottage is the easy beach access. It is truly just a 2 block walk to a main beach access. It is in a nice area to ride bikes as well. We rented 2 bikes and a beach umbrella for the week that were delivered to our beach house. It is near a very nice part of the beach.
There were a couple of minor problems that were immediately resolved by the Mermaid Cottages group.
We take many beach vacations and usually rent a condo or beach house. All in all this was one of the best we've rented in 25 years!!!! |

| Me and my husband stayed @ this apartment! It was a very nice play to stay. Was almost like home! Was very quiet. Even though you are tight snug with the neighbors we had total privacy. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed! Even coffee was provided! (which made my husband very happy!) The only issue we had was the satellite system. Everytime I would start watching something the satellite would cut itself in and out - could not watch a full show. That was very irrating! But overall a great place to stay. This was my first visit to Tybee. I will definately be returning. The atmosphere in Tybee is so refreshing, calm and very laid back! |

Retro Beach Experience |

| We stayed at C Byrd cottage which was perfect for two adult ladies and two babies. I loved Tybee Island because it hasn't been rebuilt and commercialized like so many beach communities. There are new houses and buildings but there are many that look like they might have in 1964. It was very nostalgic for me- The local restaurants and bars were truly local with neighborhood people patronizing them. I thought it was clever that you must walk to the beach- it certainly controls access and crowds. Very positive experience with our Mermaid cottage- it was exactly as advertised and there were no rude surprises. Cecille |

The location was perfect--we walked to the beach, out to eat, shopping--only moved our car once to visit Ft. Pulaski and Savannah for the day. We hope to return again to Tybee and Mermaid Cottages. |

My husband, teen daughter and I stayed for a weekend. The apartment is very clean and bright, perfect for our beach getaway. It might be a little small with more than 3 people, but worked perfectly for us.
We rented bikes and enjoyed riding all over Tybee Island. The beach and restaurants were all within easy walking distance. If you plan to cook: the island IGA had a limited selection, especially of produce--I would recommend shopping closer to Savannah for anything beyond very basic needs.
I would stay here again. |

Did not realize we should have brought our own soap...but the little market was close by. |

| This was our first time renting a vacation home and we loved it. The house was perfect....It was spotless. And it was decorated wonderfully. I would love to love to own it! My husband had the nerve to call maintenance for a "light bulb" they came within the hour to change the bulb. I was empressed and embarrassed. Also customer service was very helpfull. I orginally was going to stay at another cottage but she asked me the ages of my sons and recommended Yellow Bryd instead. She thought the location would be best for us. She was right. Tybee Island was great. The best beaches and we will definitely go back! |

| The C Byrd apartment seemed brand new and clean as a whistle! It was also a very convenient walk to the beach. No one was in the upstairs apartment when we were there so it was very quiet. Only challenge was the gas grill -- it did not work properly so it was steaks in the broiler. We would definitely stay here again. Perfect for a nice family getaway. |

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and especially liked the fact that we were allowed to bring our family pet. The gas grill did have some issues which we did discuss with the owners.
We had to leave earlier than we anticipated and our grown children stayed on, which turned out to not be such a great experience for them. With the cottage being in a residential neighborhood and the owners living upstairs, there was more noise and disruption than the owners expected. I apologize for any incovenience this may have caused and had we been able to complete the week with just my husband and myself, I am sure we would have had a nice vacation. This in no way would effect my decision to return. The cottage is not designed for any amount of noise and activities.
Many thanks to the Mitchells for their kind and generous donation to the Backus Children's Hospital Bear Gala 2007. |

The downstairs apartment was very cute but you can hear the owenrs of the house walking about. Parking was not very easy. I don't believe 2 cars could fit comfortably in the parking provided. Especially if they were fullsize cars.
The house is in an excellent location and is close to the beach. |
