Our stay at Lemon Drop was one of our fondest summer memories. It is only elipsed by our adopting 2 black labs from our local animal shelter earlier in the summer. We all traveled together to Tybee with 2 kids and the 2 dogs. The house is amazing and had everthing we needed.
We are looking forward to visiting Tybee again and staying with Mermaid Cottages.

Most everything about our stay at Tybee Island was delightful. The cottage was charming, comfortable, and clean. The fenced-in yard was ideal for our puppy and the location was convenient to the beach (about a 10 minute walk) and the grocery store.
There were three issues during the week that we would have liked a heads-up about before arriving ... 1) the overabundance of mosquitoes - we were literally eaten alive even using bug repellent; 2) the grocery shopping options were very slim. While there was an IGA a few blocks away from the house, it was TINY (an understatement) and their product selection was very limited, but worst of all was the parking. It was CRAZY with only 15 or so spots for the entire store ... extremely chaotic. The good about shopping at the IGA was the friendly and helpful staff - they certainly made the inconveniences less frustrating. And 3) you have to pay to park EVERYWHERE, including the beach. We would have liked to have known to expect that because we would have built it into our vacation budget.
Thankfully, the friendliness of the islanders overshadowed the negatives and we would definitely make a return trip to Tybee Island and stay at the Lemon Drop Cottage. |

The perfect escape |

From the moment we arrived we knew we would not want to leave. The location was perfect: a quiet residential street on Tybee Island, within easy walking distance of shops and beaches. Savannah was only a 30 minute drive away and we would recomment a trip to nearby Fort Pulaski.
The cottage's pretty fenced garden was enjoyed by both us and our dog, who found plenty of shady spots to relax.
Inside the cottage, everything you might possibly need was thought of (from cotton pads and q-tips in the bathrooms to dvds, games and books in the living room). The screened porch was great for enjoying dinner and a good book in the evening.
We can honestly say that there was nothing that we did not like. We almost felt too at home and when the time came to leave even our dog left with a heavy heart.
We will definately return. |

| We hadn't seen our friend from Boston in 6 years, and it had been a really rough few years for her. We needed the perfect girlfriend weekend get-away spot, and could not have picked better a better cottage than Lemon Drop. Lemon Drop was a dream come true for us, and our troubles really did melt like lemon drops! We had all lived together in Corona del Mar, CA in the 1990's, and were so much reminded of our time together there during our stay at Tybee. Diane, the owner of Mermaid Cottages was amazing, and helped to make the weekend perfect. I definitely plan to return to Lemon Drop with my family this summer and in the future for more girlfriend escape weekends! |

| We spent 3 lovely days at the cottage. Since the weather was quite cold it was to our advantage that the cottage had all the amenities of home.Used the fireplace each night and it was very cozy while the wind howled outside one night.So convenient to Savannah and our dog really enjoyed the fenced in yard. Home away from home.The pictures on line do not do justice to the actaul house. |

| My four girl friends and I could not have asked for a better place to spend our spring break. We absolutely loved everything about the Lemon Drop! From the day bed to the porch to the extensive library to the breakfast bar, we had a blast and it was the relaxing, fun spring break we had hoped for. We even eventually figured out how to work the stereo surround-sound system! (directions might have been nice, that thing is complicated!) Everything was clean and we loved having all the pots and dishes and pans in the kitchen to cook and grill with. Tybee is definitely a nice, laid-back beach community that we felt welcomed into during our week-long stay. Booking with Mermaid Cottages was simple and I felt they provided us with all the information we needed for our stay. We've already recommended the Lemon Drop and Mermaid cottages to our families, all of whom were quite jealous when they saw our pictures! We all hope to return to Tybee again...Thanks for a great vacation! |

| Staying in the Lemon Drop was one of the most wonderful months of our lives. The home exceeded our expectations, and everything was just as Diane said it would be - well, even better! Being able to bring Maggie with us was wonderful. The cottage felt like home the minute we walked in. I would think that any Mermaid Cottage would be amazing - you can tell they pay close attention to detail. We just loved our stay - and can't wait to go back! Thank you Diane! |

We used to go to St. George Island Florida for relaxing weekends but discovered Tybee when we attended the Pirate Fest in 2007. Since then we have taken many trips to Tybee. We even chose it for our wedding. Of all of the cottages we have rented, Lemon Drop has been our favorite. We definitely plan to return. The bath in the master bedroom, doors to the porch, size and layout of the dining and living areas are just a few of the amenities we found attractive.
Well equipped, comfortable and VERY relaxing. I recommend it for couples or families. You will not be disappointed. |

| This was an absolutley beautiful place! We enjoyed staying and it was worth every penny. Diane was wonderful! I will be coming back next time with a bigger crowd- this place is really spacious and laid out perfectly for a special 2 person getaway or a larger crowd! And the decor made me feel like I was staying in a model home for the Pottery Barn! Awesome! |

This was our second time to stay in the Lemon Drop cottage. It's beautifully decorated and very spacious with comfortable beds and an awesome screened in porch. Every amenity is provided, from music to movies to games. It's located on the marsh side - a block from AJ's Dockside (which has the best fried shrimp). And, it's only a 20 minute ride into downtown Savannah.
We will definitely stay there again and I highly recommend it to other visitors to Tybee.
The only suggestion I would make is to provide more towels and washclothes. If one stays more than a couple of days, one wants a fresh towel and washcloth. Also, travel size bar soap would be a nice amenity. We had to purchase some soap while we were there.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again!

| I have to say we were pleasantly surprised! The pictures on your website just could not do justice to this place! We were only able to stay 2 nights but we loved the setting and the homey environment we felt in the cottage. Everything was neat, very well decorated and very clean. It was also stocked with almost anything you might need while "living" there (dishes, cooking utensils, etc.), even shelves and shelves of books, games, music, movies.... I could go on and on. Everything was GREAT! |

I had been looking at other properties and
getting frustrated until I ran across
Mermaid....Diane was friendly and very
easy to work with about arrangements for
the getaway. When we got there everything
was nice and within walking distance of
beach and restaurants. I would recommend
anyone going to Tybee or Savannah to stay

Diane made great recomendations on where to go and what to do while we were in Tybee. We enjoyed riding bikes and the proximity to AJ's and The Breakfast Club. | We stayed at Lemon Drop Cottage. This was a great place for our family. We were close enough to the beach that we did not have to drive and pay a lot to park. The yard was great for the kids to play in and for the dogs to run free. I would highly recommend this place to family and friends. We also enjoyed the books and games that were provided in the cottage. |

| My family had a great vacation on Tybee Island thanks to Mermaid Cottages. I had a hard time choosing from all of the available properties, but I could not have been happier with my choice of Lemon Drop Cottage. It was just as comfortable and adorable as seen and described on the Mermaid Cottages site, but it exceeded my expectations in terms of size and amenities. Anything that you could need while on your vacation, they have thought to provide. The location was also perfect - far enough from the main road to be quiet and relaxing, but a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. I am especially grateful that Mermaid Cottages provides so many pet-friendly cottages. Our dogs had such a great time playing in the huge yard at Lemon Drop! I will recommend Tybee Island - and Mermaid Cottages - to all my friends and family. |

Lemon Drop had a calming ocean/ beach relaxing atmosphere about it.I liked the large great room that opened up to the kitchen and dining room. The location of the house was nice for walking to the backwater and the marsh. The area was very quiet, yet convenient. |

| My family and I recently stayed at the Lemon Drop for our Tybee/Savannah vacation and it was by far the best choice we could have made for lodging. The cottage is so adorable and is equipped with all the basic amenities and more. This house was wonderfully restored and I loved all the cute little touches. We were all truly bummed out when we had to leave. Tybee is a wonderful place to visit for a slow-pace, laid back , relaxing vacation and the Lemon Drop cottage was just what we needed. I would definitely stay there again or would definitely be interested in renting another cottage through Diane and Mermaid. I have been bragging to all of my friends about the experience and a girls trip is already being discussed... |

| I absolutely love Tybee Island. We come all the way from San Francisco to vacation there. I also loved the Lemon Drop Cottage. The house is very well appointed and the location is great! The only issues we had was the previous renter left fish in the back yard and the fridge. The management did come over right away when I called them to try and rid the smell.. They tried but in that heat the smell lingered and I could not sit out on the back porch.. other than that I loved everything about the house and my vacation.. I would return! |

| We always enjoy staying at Mermaid Cottages. The Lemon Drop cottage was very spacious, but there were a few issues.......all of which were quickly resolved by Mermaid Cottage management (We love Diane). We enjoyed all the family space, plenty of room for games, TV, cooking - all open and made for great family time. We highly suggest renting bicycles - 5 minute ride to the beach. We will rent this property again! |

We really enjoyed our time at Lemon
Drop Cottage and we plan on returning. It is the perfect size for a couple or a family. We brought our dogs along with us on vacation and the fenced in yard made bringing them so much more enjoyable. The screened in porch is a wonderful place to sit in the mornings and evenings. It is a very comfortable vacation home. |

We had such a great time at the cottage. It is perfect for family time. The cottage is open an inviting and the porch just sucks you in!
Little of a walk to the beach. Recommend driving there but walking to shops and pier at night isn't bad when its cool.
The back beach is nicer and not as crowded.
I would definetly stay here again. |

| Arriving at the Lemon Drop made us almost giddy. The vibrant colors were so happy and the white picket fence is the stuff of fairy tales. The home was much bigger than expected or pictured on the web and it exceeded our expectaions. Everything you could possibly need to have a good time was supplied. I brought a hair dryer, didn't need it. Brought beach chairs, didn't need em'. We had good nights' rests and felt very comfortable and safe away from home. Our dogs liked the fenced in yard and we were thrilled to bring them along with us. Diane was available to us all the time, recommending bike rental and restaurants and shops that turned out to be gems! She even came to the rescue when my son cut up his feet on some rocks. Her cottage rental site is a well oiled machine! We are planning our next vacation there in the fall! |

| What a great cottage to stay and relax at. The cottage was in great condition and very clean. We took our dogs with us and the fenced in yard was perfect for them. We loved being able to bike to the beach and to the restaurants. The screened in porch was perfect to sit and enjoy the evening without the bugs to worry about. | My boy Rutherford (Newfie) and I stayed for a few days in late April 2008. This was my first visit to Tybee. Love the island, love the cottage, and particularly love the quiet location. Wireless works perfectly, a must if you bring work with you. Fence is sturdy and a blessing for dog owners. |
