Nora's cottage was great. Loved everything about it. The front porch, the back deck, the terrific kitchen, fenced in yard. I would suggest you add a shelf or rack in the shower to hold shampoo and stuff. We were however, hugely dissappointed that we couldn't bring our dogs on the beach. Guess I didn't read the fine print on that one. It did essentially keep us in the cottage for the most part. I definitely would use the cottage again but without the dogs.

I've rented vacation homes numerous places and this one was exactly as it was described - comfortable, quiet, and convenient. We had all the amenities we wanted, it was the perfect place for a long weekend getaway. We brought the dog, he enjoyed the walks to the beach and around the neighborhood. The WiFi was wonderful to have, and Tim's Beach Gear delivered right on time. I can't say enough about Mermaid Cottages, they were recommended to us and they lived up to their reputation. We plan on making this an annual trip! The only thing I didn't expect was there was no bathtub, only the shower, but we were fine with that. The cottage is very charming and well-appointed for the perfect beach vacation!

Diane helped me choose a cottage for our long weekend on Tybee, and this really was the right one for us. My husband, our son, and I enjoyed the house from the moment we walked in. The screened porch was lovely -- especially on the afternoon it rained -- and the rest of the house was comfortable and cozy. We would definitely stay here again!

It was wonderful. The cottage was adorable, the location was great, and we hope to go back again and again. We were able to take our dogs with us which makes the trip even more wonderful. Each day, we'd head to the beach to soak up some sun. Then, showers and relaxing on the screened in front porch (my favorite). At night, we headed into Savannah for dinner. Ryan proposed while we were there and so now Tybee will be "our" place forever. Looking forward to going back again and again and again. :)

The front screened porch was a joy to sit on. Personal contact with Mermais Cottages' Diane Kaufman was a treat.

We were four adults and one baby, and we fit well into this three bedroom cottage. The room with the full bed and the room with the twin beds were small, but our playpen did fit nicely in the kids' room. We loved the feel of the place and it was well-stocked for out-of-town guests. We didn't need to bring much of anything except groceries. The location was great - just a couple of blocks to the beach. The Mermaid staff was fantastic - very organised and welcoming. We did mop the floors ourselves because they were a little bit grimy, but they probably only bothered me because I have a crawling baby. I would highly recommend Nora's Cottage to a friend.

Everything was perfect for my family. When we first walked in my 4 year old daughter kept walking around declaring "this is adorable!" The cottage was very clean and well cared for. The location was perfect, being only a short 2 blocks from the beach. It was also far enough away from the touristy section, but an easy walk if we wanted to head down there. I also appreciated that they provided a charcoal grill when I asked about that. I will definitely stay at this or another Mermaid Cottage again.

My daughter and I along with another adult and child shared the cottage for 3 nights. It worked out great with the accomadations. The bedrooms were nice and comfortable and we enjoyed the quaint den and kitchen area. We may great use of the outside shower after being at the beach each day. We took a side trip to Savannah one day which is only about 15 minutes away. We would rent this cottage again, no question. It is close to the beach, but not really close enough to walk, but the parking near the beach was no problem!
It's a great place to stay!

What can I say? My sister and I along with our three kids stayed at Nora's cottage and it was the perfect setting. We had a small glitch with the air conditioning and it was fixed immediately. The cottage was comfortable and spacious enough for all of us. The kitchen was perfectly equipped. The living area comfortable. And we loved the outdoor shower and front porch. The beach is a short walk away and we loved watching the dolphins swim along the shoreline and the pelicans were also a treat. We would highly recommend this cottage.

screened porch with overhead fans was the perfect place for reading,

We loved the bright modern kitchen, the screened front porch, and comfortable bed. The fenced-in back yard worked out well for our dog. My husband, myself, our 8 y/o daughter and 1 y/o dog stayed at Nora's for Labor Day weekend. What a sweet little cottage. Plenty of room, with some to spare. The outdoor shower was terrific!!! The A/C works great. The kitchen so beautiful, sunny and cheerful. Only a few things were missing: a full length mirror on one of the bedroom doors would be nice, and a clock or 2 in the cottage. And a door mat on the back deck door for getting the sand off your feet.
It was like coming home for us at the end of the day. And there is so much to do on Tybee that our days were full!! We rented bikes from Tim's Beach Gear per Diane's reccomendation and what a treat! I hadn't been on a bike in at least 20 years and I had the best time with it. And if we weren't riding our bikes, we were walking. Nora's is a great location. 2 blocks from the beach. The only time we got in the car was to go to the lighthouse or the dolphin tour. We went to the Crab Shack and were disappointed. High prices, poor service. But Stingrays and Sugar Shack were great. We went to the Breakfast Club on Sunday and boy was it worth the wait!!! I could go on and on but one thing remains true...Tybee Island is the Atlantic coasts best kept secret. Let's hope nobody else finds out about it. Thanks Diane

Nora's Cottage is a three bedroom cottage with a full and clean kitchen. My mother and father joined myself, my husband and my daughter for a relaxing family vacation and there was plenty of space for all of us. Lots to do whether it be shopping, eating or partying in Savannah or shopping, eating and playing in the ocean right on Tybee Island. The cabin is just blocks from the beach so you don't have to drive. Its just a short walk away and there is plenty to do right on the beach from shell hunting, looking for starfish and sand dollars to boogie boarding. My husand and my daughter even went parasailing.
The cabin is clean and comfortable. The beds are excellent. Not too soft, Not too hard, Not too springy.
There's a grill out back along with an outdoor shower that's really helpful to get the sand off before you go into the cabin.
Great vacation. We didn't want to leave.

The cottage was sufficiently sized for 6 people and was very comfortable. What a deal to shower the sand off in a large outside shower with hot and cold water. The kitchen was great. Could use a few more cutting knives.Very convienient to the beach. This is a great beach to come to. The beach is not crowded but not empty. You are close enough to Savannah to get there for sightseeing or tourist activities. Tybee has some great little places to eat. Try Marlin Monroes or Sugar Shack. Sting Rays and many others are very close by to everything. Don't go to this beach if you expect to see giant beach resorts and skyscraper hotels all over the place. This is 1970-80's country and it's great. This is not bumper-car, miniture golf, race up and down the road, tatoo heaven. This is the ride a bike, take a walk, sun on the beach family Tybee Island. We have been here four times (two of which have been in Meremaid Cottages)and we will most likely be back. HAVE FUN ON YOUR TRIP TO THE BEACH.....

Nora's cottage was very nice. The rooms were ample and the beds had better mattresses than I had expected. Very pretty decorations with little signs all over the house. One hall bathroom with standing shower and one 1/2 bath in kitchen. There is a loveseat and club chair along with two wingback chairs in the living room. We are a family of three and were comfortable, but I can imagine anything bigger may have been a little cramped in common areas.

We had some issues with cleanliness that were taken care of very well by the rental agency. The only issues that we had were things that were outside of the house. The yards is not very well kept and is *completely* covered with pine needle mulch. There was a chair on the front porch that was completely broken and unuseable. The back porch faces two other rentals which lacked a significant amount of privacy. The "grill" wasn't exactly what we had expected. It is really just a small square shaped BBQ. We had brought ribs to BBQ and they wouldn't fit on the grill top. The outdoor shower looks like it hasn't been used since it was built and consequently we steered clear.

Great location with just about 3 blocks to the beach access point. We rode our bikes all over the island and really really loved Tybee. I wish that we could come back, but it will be difficult to do so in the future.

This was a great little cottage. The location is right on the bike trail , which was super! We rented bikes for the week and you can pretty much use them to get any where on the island! The beach is a short, easy 5 minute walk or bike ride. We liked this location because it was close enough to everything, but at the same time you felt like you were in your own little world. The oak trees were beautiful and there were plenty of birds to watch. The screened in front porch was very relaxing for our morning coffee.
The only downfall to this cottage is the main bathroom (where the shower is) was tiny!!! But our answer to that problem was, we took showers outside, in the nice outdoor shower:)
Overall, we would come and stay here again. We had a great time.

We stayed for a long weekend at Norah's Cottage this past May. When searching for a vacation rental online, I found that Mermaid Cottage Vacation Rentals were considerably less expensive than most of the other companies. I was a little concerned that there might be a hidden problem with this house, but there wasn't. The house was clean and comfortable and about four blocks from the beach. There is also an elementary school at the corner that had a nice playground that we were able to use on the weekend.

The largest bedroom has a king size bed and had room on the floor for a small inflatable bed for our three-year-old. The queen size bedroom had just barely enough room for our friends and their Pack'n'Play for their baby. The living space is a good size for relaxing and the kitchen has an island with a couple of stools for eating. There is also a bedroom with twin bunk beds that would be perfect for older children.

The only thing that was not perfect in this home was that the kitchen, while stocked with dishes, did not have a few utensils and gadgets that would have made cooking meals a little easier. The knives were not very sharp and there was no vegetable peeler. So, bring your peeler and you should be set!

The back yard was adequate for our dogs and their needs. The house was close to restaurants, the dog park, the market and especially the beach.
