SeaGlass Cottage was delightful. The house was clean, the beds very comfortable, and the kitchen had every amenity, even down to spices and coffee filters. There were special touches throughout the cottage. I have rented houses in the US and in Canada, and SeaGlass can hold her own. Grandmother, mother, a 4 year old, and a toddler had a fine time, despite bad weather that ranged from hot and humid, to rain and wind, to very cold temperatures..your HVAC Systems worked fine...we used them both during our visit! Tim's Rentals was great to deal with. A very nice time was had by all as we celebrated my mother's 92nd birthday.
The staff at Mermaids was a pleasure to deal with...thanks to all. The only complaint was dealing with the old fashioned/original locks on the doors....we had to be very careful not to lock ourselves out on the screen porch.

My husband and I recently stayed at SeaGlass Cottage, a beautifully decorated
cottage with very nice amenities, including two bathrooms, a screened front
porch, and Direct TV. The bed was very comfortable (not too soft!) and the
nicely equipped kitchen was very handy as I prepared several meals at home.
The only real issue I have is that the house faces Butler Avenue, which is the
main road through town and has four lanes. There was traffic both day and
night, even in October when I thought it might be more peaceful. It was also
somewhat difficult to back out of the parking space into this road. If traffic
noise doesn't bother you, I would otherwise say that this cottage is a fine
choice.

| The home itself and the amenities--stocked with toiletries, anything you could need in the kitchen, nice linens--were wonderful. The location on busy Butler Avenue was not so great. No where to cross the street safely, and traffic noise was always a problem. We loved Tybee, and this house...just wish it was on a different street. |

Yes we did enjoy the cottage but there are a couple of things I would like to share with you.
The furniture was very uncomfortable and did not seat but 3/4 people at a time. The porch furniture well...it was cute but we got pillows off the beds because they were so hard you couldn't sit for long. The kitchen table was never used the entire time we were there becasue you could not get into the seats.
It was a charming little house but not very comfortable for R&R. Great location very nice owner, beautiful floors but very uncomfortable. |

| Me and my four girlfriends had a wonderful stay at the Sea Glass Cottage for our Girls Weekend. After college we all went our own ways so this was a perfect weekend to catch up and have a blast. We decided on Tybee Island because it was more of a central location for all of us. We LOVED the SeaGlass Cottage!! It was perfect for us five girls. We enjoyed the front porch more than anything else. We were out there most of the time, enjoying the weather and each other. We were contacted several times during our stay by Mermaid Cottages asking if everything worked okay and if the accommodations were up to our standards (which they were of course). The weather was perfect almost every day so we went to the beach a lot! It was a very short walk (which was perfect)! We were also able to walk to the local grocery store to pick up a few items that we had forgotten to buy! The location was PERFECT!!! I (and any of the other girls) would strongly recommend the Sea Glass Cottage for any girls weekend or small family vacation. Perfect location, perfect little house (which gave us no problems at all) and a wonderful time guaranteed!! |

We found the Seaglass cottage to be ideally located for our needs- one block
off the beach, away from the pier area but close enough to allow short drives
to shopping areas. Being "on the main drag" involved more traffic than we
expected, but not so much as to really bother us. The cottage itself was
terrific, particularly the great bathrooms, kitchen, and bedrooms. The front
porch was very relaxing. The overall decor was very appropriate for the area.
Overall, a very relaxing vacation! We would return to Seaglass without
question. |

| We took our two small children (2 years and 14 mos) to Tybee for their first beach experience. We wanted to rent a cottage that would give them some room to roam and be a little too loud. So, the SeaGlass cottage was perfect for us. The children loved the screened porch and back yard. We loved that they could play and be safe. Our 2 year old still talks about the trip and asks if we can go back. I hope to make this a annual trip for our little family. Mermaid Cottages was very good to us. Looking forward to using them again! |

This was a great place to stay. The cottage was
very cute, worked great for just the two of us. A
small family would be good also. We had the worst
weather in the history of Tybee Island, so sitting
on the front screened porch was a saver. Rented
bikes, used them for 1/2 day (paid for the week),
paid for kayaking in advance (cancled because of
weather, no refund, gave us "rain checks" that we
have to use in next 12 months. Diane from Mermaid
was a great help, she knows her stuff. We were
meeting up with a group, and she did amazing on
getting us all in the same area, the right cottage
for the number of guest, and just talking to her
was wonderful. We will definitly go back...maybe
when we can make sure the weather will be good. |

Sea Glass Cottage was the perfect retreat for our nephew/grandson's wedding in Savannah. All descriptions and online pictures were accurate and truly represented this delightful cottage. We were very comfortable with six adults in the cottage, although the twin beds were a bit short for our tall family. Our only regret is not having more time to spend at the beach! Butler Ave. is a bit busy on the weekend, but it did not detract from our stay.
This was our first experience renting a cottage on Tybee Island. Would we stay here again? Absolutely! |

Our expectations were high and we did our research. This cottage proved to be a wonderful experience, even to our picky tastes.
This cottage, though located on the main drag on Tybee, quiet and seems very private. The front porch is an exceptional relaxation place, especially in the mornings and late evenings. The beach access is about 300 yards away. Beach was great. One added amenity is Tim's Rentals...we didn't use his bikes or beach gear, but we probably will next time to really enjoy the whole island.
The only issues we had were a few light bulbs out on some lamps and the shower was slow to drain. There is no garage, but with we did not feel like our car was in a place that would be vandalized with the driveway parking. But everything was so peaceful and relaxing inside, that those minor concerns did not matter. We will be back to Tybee...and probably to this exact cottage. |

We loved our week at Sea Glass Cottage! So close to the beach with
an outdoor shower to get the sand off before we came in (heated, too)
It's a darling, immaculate, attractive beach cottage. With the three
bdrms, 2 ba our group of three generations had space to themselves.
The little girls loved their little twinbed room.
The screened-in porch with plastic table cover was a great place for
at projects when we weren't at the beach and we were so close to it we
could almost hear the surf!
A cple suggestions: leave a supply of toilet paper and garbage
bags. We didn't recieve any extra towels which would have been
appreciated but all in all, these were minor things that did not keep us
from having a wonderful time. |

Cute home with some drawbacks |

This was our second experience with Mermaid Cottages. First the pros - staff and representatives at Mermaid Cottages is the best. They are accessible, helpful, courteous and military friendly (Thank you, Mermaid Cottages!). The home is cute as shown in the pictures. The bathrooms & kitchen are as decorative as they are functunal. The kitchen was more than adequately stocked with supplies and equipment. The convenience of the fabulous front porch and back door leading into the bathroom (perfect for jumping right into the shower) are super helpful! But do bring extra towels because you'll run out before the washer/dryer can get ya new ones. The walk to the beach was super easy and the sounds of the street were not offensive as I might have originally feared. Tybee's a family-friendly place in late August.
The cons: the massive tv that is advertised is indeed in the house, but it appears to be for the habitual wearer of 3D glasses only; something is wrong with the screen. Thus the house is equipped with a second 19in tv atop the big screen. Our plans for watching family movies together were foiled, which was just as well, as the living room sofa was smelly and a bit old (we sank deeply upon sitting in it); and despite the slipcover's best efforts, we still found most of it on the floor after the kids sat on the sofa. Given the age of the home, the proximity to trees and the climate, the home is plagued with gigantic roaches (palmetto bugs) and mosquitos. The mosquitos rendered the back yard useless and the bugs gave my 3 year old daughter a mid night scare grand enough to keep her in bed with hubby and I for most of the week. Cobwebs form easily at the base of much of the wooden furniture allowing for toy-seaking toddlers to become entangled & curious about spiders on their arms.
All in all, it was adequate, but in the future we will probably seek out another home, or at least not rely on promised ammenities like a tv. |

 |
Manager Response: September 25, 2008 |
We apologize about the TV, we have been working on the TV and thought we had the problem solved, but apparently did not based on this guest's review. A reminder to all our guests- WHEN YOU FIND SOMETHING NOT WORKING AT THE COTTAGE- LET US KNOW WHILE YOU WERE HERE!!!! We can't solve the problem after you've left, but note for future guests- we have removed the TV and replaced it with a working TV.
We area always working on the bug challenge- we spray regularly for both inside and outside bugs including spiders and will continue to spray weekly and if necessary daily. We will also check into resoloving the comments about the sofa. As always, we thank all our guests for their feedback and recomendations to keep our homes the best they can be! |

| Tybee Island and Sea Glass Cottage were charming, quiet, and snug in a tropical storm. (Only a little roof leakage! The rental agency was very prompt in coming to investigate the leak.) The screened front porch was wonderful, especially since it was too stormy for 3 days to do much of anything else. The week we were there (third week of August), the beach was practically deserted, even when the weather wasn't bad. The cottage had everything we needed, even shampoo, and the kitchen was easy to prepare meals in. If we decide to go back to Tybee again, we'll definitely consider renting Sea Glass again. |

bring our dogs! They loved the screened front porch and the dog park
2 blocks away! The biggest drawback was noise from the street traffic.
With the doors to the house closed you could not hear anything. From
the front porch, especially during the day, the noise was too much.
We also could have used more cook wear-larger pots for our family of
