Again, Mermaid Cottages has made a stay at the beach even more fun and charming. The house was very clean and stocked with everything my family needed to make us feel at home. The staff were available to answer questions about the new surround sound and flat screen television, and they even made a house call to make sure we knew how to work the entertainment system!
The beach was just a short walk down the street and the weather on Tybee Island, as always, was ideal for a Fall stay at the beach. We will always book Mermaid Cottages whenever we travel near Savannah! |

| We had never been to Tybee and Savannah, so I decided to get my family together for my 30th birthday. My parents, siblings + spouses came for 5 days in September. The weather was great and the beach was not crowded at all! The house was on Butler across the street from the beach. We loved walking to the IGA and restaurants and ice cream. The parking was great for 3 cars. We went into Savannah 2 nights for dinner for a break from the beach which was a very easy drive. The best of both worlds (city and beach)! We were glad for the extra doors leading out to the stairs/porch from the 2nd bedroom so that we could take our puppy out at night without bothering anyone. All the beds were comfortable and there was lots of closet/dresser space. Also, the front porch was great for eating breakfast and listening to the waves at night, but it would have been nice to have more seating. There was an extra laundry room off the kitchen where we could launder/iron and also keep the dogs food and bowls. The service was exceptional. We had trouble with the lockbox code, but called the customer service line for Mermaid cottages and it was answered immediately! We will definitely be back in the future!!! |

| We had never been to Tybee Island or the beaches in this area. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the relaxing low-key atmosphere of the island. Shore Leave was beautiful and well equipped for a home away from home. Plenty of room, ESPECIALLY the master bath and kitchen. Excellent access to the beach and grocery. We hope to return next year |

| This property had everything we were looking for, from a working fireplace to a huge master bedroom, bathroom and closet. The modern kitchen was outfitted with everything a cook wants and the large screen TV and WiFi were welocme bonuses on a rainy afternoon. The fenced yard allowed us to bring our two dogs, who liked the cottage almost as much as we did. The interior decor was cheerful and whimsical. Perhaps the best part for us was the second story porch, where we could sit in comfort with our pooches at our feet, watching the world go by. At night, we could hear the soothing sound of the ocean waves. Great place to stay! |

Because the yard was fenced, we were able to bring our two dogs, who were thrilled to be with us. Maybe the best part, for us, was the wonderful second story porch where we could sit in rockers with our pooches at our feet and watch the world go by. Very Dirty, Dirty House |

| My husband and I rented this house for a week as we were renewing our wedding vows on Tybee Island. This house caused out trip to be a disaster and after we got back home, our whole family got terribly sick due to the conditions in this home. (I have the pictures to prove it!) The cleaning staff is lacking in more ways than one. She showed up to the property late and hung over from what she described as a long night of 'partying'. This house was extremely dirty and dusty. Things were falling apart all around us. It was near impossible to cook in the kitchen since the kitchen was not stocked properly with the normal things you would need to cook. as a family with 4 small children, I would NOT recommend this house to anyone with children. The carpets need to be replaced as do the linens. They are worn and smell terrible. The drawers in the bathrooms were filled with hair and other debris I would rather not remember to be honest. This house would be great for college kids who do not care about cleanliness, but just need a place to crash while at the beach. However, I would not pay $250 a night. It's worth MAYBE $75 a night considering it does have a large TV and several bedrooms. The master bedroom was filled with cobwebs and there is a bad leak in the ceiling. The beds are VERY uncomfortable. My husband and I lived on Motrin during our stay. I would recommend the owners of this house consider that families may be renting this house and it should be clean BEFORE you get there. I made my husband put everything on the deck and I had to clean the place for 5 hours before we could bring our things in. Not a good way to start your vacation! Stay clear of this property! |

Manager Response: January 26, 2009 |
| Gosh,we are so sorry that Jennifer and her family felt their stay with us was not a great experience. We always appreciate feedback from our guests and since Jennifer stayed with us in September, we've done extra deep cleaning of the home, restocked the kitchen, even changed out the beds. This is actually why we have guest reviews, so we can find out if there is anything more we need to do to improve our homes. We're just sorry these guests hadn't written their review in September right after their visit so we could have responded early. I hope any other potential guests will read the other wonderful reviews since September 2008 to see how much other guests have enjoyed their stay at Shore Leave. But as always, we truly appreciate very honest feedback and comments. Thank you! |

| Enjoyed staying at the Shore Leave. This house is tastefully decorated and is very cozy. We were celebrating Thanksgiving and found the kitchen to be fully stocked in helping us make our Thanksgiving meal. We Having the beach and local grocery store within walking distance was very convenient. Because it rained most of the time we were there it was nice that games and movies were provided for our entertainment. The house was very clean and we had fun reading the flags. Some of our guest were from Great Britian so it made them feel very welcomed. |

| My husband and I came to T. Island for our honeymoon (we are both 46). When we pulled up to Shore Leave, we both burst out laughing in delight because it was so lovely and so exceeded our expectations. It was clean, comfy, and beautifully decorated--and located within walking distance of, well, virtually everything. Diane was wonderful to deal with (we had to make very last-minute plans due to Hurricane Ike, and she took good care of us). When my husband and I rode bikes all over the island, we checked out other Mermaid properties, and they were all pretty and cozy. If you're planning a trip to T. Island, I'd definitely recommend checking out Mermaid Cottages. |

| This was our first experience renting a beach house and we found it thoroughly enjoyable. The photos don't do the property justice...it's even more spacious than presented and just right for 2 or 3 couples. The location of Shore Leave was perfect.... close to the beach as well as the IGA! Furnishings were high quality and the beds super comfy. We happened to be on the island when the winds from Hurricane Fay blew through... it was interesting but not problematic(well, actually the fish didn't bite on our fishing trip- but the boat ride was awesome). We loved Tybee and hope to return for some sunny weather! |

| Just wanted to leave a little feedback for anyone considering a visit to Tybee. One of the things that you look for on a website are the pictures to get a feel for the place you might be staying. We were pleased with the pictures but Shore Leave looks even better close up. It is very spacious yet very comfortable and homey. The accomodations and amenities are all first class especially the large jacuzzi tub that everyseems to talk about. Quite relaxing that tub is. The front deck is big and spacious with a great view of the people walking about and enjoying the island. The people associated with Mermaid Cottages were all very nice, cordial, and especially accommodating to our needs. The location of Shore Leave is perfect. Within walking distance of the main attractions yet not too close. Drive time to any other parts of the island is just a few minutes. Loved this place, Loved the Island, Will Be Back. |

Shore Leave exceeded our expectations. It is spacious, extremely well equipped, beautifully designed, and has ample room for 6 without feeling crowded. Days walking on the beach or swimming; walking around Tybee off the main drag, sitting on the porch in the evening sharing our day with family--We had a great week and hope to do it again.
We have been on cruises, rented in the Bahamas, rented condos at other beaches, and Shore Leave was equal to or better than all of these. My wife's 89 year old father was with us and he dated my mother inlaw there. He was able to relive those memories and felt right at home. It was a time we will cherish forever, and I doubt that we are alone in feeling that way about Shore Leave beach house. Thank you. Steve & Susan |

We had an absolutely fantastic time during our week long stay at Shore Leave/Tybee Island. You could definitely tell that this had been someone's personal residence and not just a run-of-the-mill rental that we've been in before.
We were vacationing with family and the layout was perfect - plenty of room to gather together, but still your own space when you needed privacy. The master suite was awesome - I'd love to have it in my own home!
I'd also like to thank you for being a pet-friendly home. Our dogs are our children - so its very nice to find somewhere that accepts them as well as Tybee does! They loved the house too - especially the front porch where they could watch all the people coming and going! (One of our favorite spots too!)
I will definitely be back and will stay at Shore Leave. It's the best location on the island. Only a block from the 13th St beach access (EASY walk), and close to restaurants and IGA is only a block.
Thanks again for a WONDERFUL and relaxing vacation - best we've had in years... |
