My husband and I loved, loved, loved this cottage!
Pros: Shabby chic beach decor was wonderful
Location
Outdoor shower
Too many extra little touches to mention
The screened in back porch during a rain shower (imagine lying in the
hammock, listening to the rain falling on the metal roof)
WiFi access (included in rental fee)
Privacy
Comfortable beds and high quality linens
Cons: The cottage is small---definitely spacious for 2 and plenty of room
for 4, but I wouldn't want to rent for 6 people.
Storage space is limited
I loved this place so much. Whenever I'm stressing out, I remember this little
cottage and presto--instant relaxation. |

| We totally enjoyed our visit to Tybee Island. However, I would have to rate our cottage - The Shrimp as average. While the home was nice enough and in an excellent location, I did not think it was clean enough. If I pay that much money for a cleaning fee then I expect it to me clean. I also thought it was overpriced. We still had a wonderful time at Tybee!! |

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Tybee Island at The Shrimp. The decor of
the cottage was absolutely adorable and definitely got us in the spirit of our
vacation. The location of The Shrimp is great, and our girls especially enjoyed
the short walk to the beach. There were a lot of great restaurants close by and
plenty of other things to do in addition to the beach.
The reservation process was smooth and the team was easily reachable and
very easy to work with. Communication was great and we would not hesitate
to recommend Mermaid Cottages or The Shrimp to anyone!
Thank You Mermaid Cottages for helping to make our vacation one to

Stayed at The Shrimp for a "Girls' Vacation". We all adored the cottage. The location is great. We liked being in a quiet residential area. It was a short walk to the beach and near the bike trail.
The cottage is decorated in lively, fun colors. It was very clean and well stocked. Would highly recommend Mermaid Cottages. |

| Our family stayed at The Shrimp cottage on Tybee Island for a week. It was a very cute cottage, and a great location. We enjoyed our time around Savannah's historical center and the close beach. The cottage was very cozy, came equipped with all the modern commodities of home, and provided a very relaxing atmosphere. The Shrimp was a fantastic place to stay because the kitchen allowed us to cook meals rather than eating out all the time, although the restaurants have wonderful food, and the spacious inside allowed for comfortable living. The services were great, they were available whenever we needed them and sprayed the cottage to keep pests out. The only thing that we had trouble with was that the ad said this particular cottage had a grill, but we couldn't find one. The location was great, it was literally a few blocks away from the beach and ten minutes away from Savannah. I would recommend this particular cottage or others from Mermaid Cottages Vacation Rentals services to anyone who is looking for a vacation on Tybee or looking to explore Savannah. |

| We loved the Shrimp, the ocean and Tybee Island! We're a long way from Tybee Island (Illinois) but would go back in a heartbeat, if we could! We liked the location of the Shrimp away from most of the crowds at the south end of the island, the inside decoration of the cottage and the outdoor shower the best! Our only minor complaint was the grill. It turned out to be a small, charcoal grill and we were expecting a bigger gas grill. Other than that, we highly recommend the Shrimp! |

Me along with 4 girlfriends headed to Savannah for a girl's trip. I looked up the Mermaid Cottages and was hooked the second I saw The Shrimp Cottage. All of us girl's were so excited!! When we got there it was better than the pictures so cute and cozy. Everything was great the beds, towels, and the location. We walked to the beach and it was only a 15minute drive to Savannah. The Shrimp was a great place to chill for the girl's who didn't want to go sightseeing and it was a great place to lay your head after a day of taking tons of pictures of the beautiful area and eating at Paula Deen's.
I recommend this place for anyone who wants a nice place to call home away from home!!Thank you so much for a great experience! |

| This cottage is the best. The interior decorating is great and you feel at home from the minute you walk thru the door. The location is wonderful across from the park and only 2 blocks to the beach. A very short walk to the beach that allows you to enjoy both the quietness and the beauty of the water. We had a washer issue called maintence and it was fixed in less than 2 hours. The only thing I would change about the cottage is the fact that I would put a screen door on the front of the house similar to the on that leads to the back porch. |

| We chose mermaid cottages due to the high reviews on different websites. Also, I'm a Mary Kay Andrews(kathy trocheck)fan and figured she wouldn't speak so highly on something that she didn't truly love. I was right! We finalized our spring break plans late, so all that was available for us was The Shrimp. I expected it to be small, but I was so wrong! It was wonderful, plenty of space for our group of 6 and more. Amazingly clean, everything that we needed, bright, cheery and comfortable. The only complaint from my 3 sons and their friend was that it was too 'girly'-they insisted it was painted pink. Being the only woman in a group of 6, I was thrilled. They loved the back porch, the hammock and the outdoor shower(yes, it was chilly, but we're from OH). We grilled, we walked, we loved it. We will be coming back next year and plan on staying with Mermaid Cottages. The service was wonderful, too. Follow up emails, calls, and answers to questions within a short amount of time. I felt comfortable renting from this company for the first time and loved the attention they gave the house. The people on the island were extremely friendly, from grocery store clerks to people on the street. We highly recommend Mermaid Cottages and The Shrimp. |

I came here with my 2 college-age "kids" to get away for Spring Break. We loved the cottage. It was so comfortable, bright and clean. We especially loved the comfortable beds, I couldn't wait to snuggle in at night and crash.
It was windy and chilly on the beach, but a hooded sweat shirt took care of that. Lot's of interesting birds at the beach and in the marshes on the way to Savannah.
We had a great time and I definitely want to come back with the rest of my family the next time we're in the area. |

| This was truly a girls week away! Me, my daughter, a friend and her daughter stayed here for 4 days. I came down from NC and she came up from FL. It was perfect for us since our girls are 21 mths old and the park was within walking distance. We LOVED how the house was decorated. It was so beachy and very comfortable. It's only about 10 minutes to downtown Savannah so you get the best of both worlds between the beach and downtown. Although the beach is pretty slow this time of year. We will definitely be back sometime when it's warmer and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else!!! |

| My family has been vacationing at Tybee for about 25 years and have stayed at many rentals. The Shrimp was probably one of the cutest and cleanest place we've stayed in recent years. I brought my two grand-daughters (4 and 6) and they did not want to come home! They said they could stay forever at The Shrimp. (My sister and I agreed!) The only thing that the cottage was missing was a beach cart, with kids there was sooo much to carry - the second day we decided to load everything into the car and park, but got a $20.00 parking ticket for being 10 minutes over! Other than that our trip was fantastic! Thanks! |

The area was very peaceful and roughly halfway between "downtown" and the lighthouse - we rode our bikes all over the island. We would definitely rent the Shrimp again. |

we stayed at the shrimp and it was also our first visit to tybee
island. we found the cottage to be very exciting and spacious
for our needs. the bed was as comfortable, if not more
comfortable, than our own bed at home. we had a wonderful
time staying at the shrimp as it made us feel at home, rather
than the cold sterile feel of most hotels. the dining table chairs
were the only complaint as they were very weak and you felt like
they were going to break when you sat on them.
tybee was an absolute pleasure. while it is a tourist town, it was
not overly crowded and the beach was very pleasant and
peaceful. there are a few restaurants worth visiting. our
favorite was stingrays for the dungeness crab dinner. we plan
to return to tybe island and hope to stay in the shrimp, again.

My husbands only suggestion would be a newer, larger TV and a more comfortable "man size" chair.
We would definitely return if it fit into our travel plans. |
