Great location, but second room is not for adults

This is a great home for a family.
The master with a king bed was comfortable and the bed was great. However, the second room has a very small- not quite a full size bed and a twin bed. Our adult son and fiance stayed in the second room and the bed was so small and so hard, they ended up in the twin and full, but even the twin was not comfortable. Small kids would be fine here, but not adults.
The location is fabulous and the view out the front door is fantastic looking directly at a lovely town square.
Service was phenomenal. More...

Great House, Great City!

The house was perfectly located within a short walk to both the river and center of town. It was great to park once for the weekend and be able to choose our destination each morning knowing we wouldn't be fighting for a parking space somewhere.

Inside, the house had maps and information on tourist attractions as well as the fabulous restaurant commentary list.

My family and our friends had a delightful time, which will mean that we will definitely be back! More...

Why stay in a hotel when you can have location and character

The whole experience from the first inquiry email to the actual stay was excellent. Wonderful service and personal and professional communications from Savannah Getaways staff and the owner of the rental property. We visited Savannah for my sister's bachelorette weekend. We had a group of girls and bunking here was similar in price to a hotel, but we would certainly not have had the same experience at a hotel. The charm and character of the house was beautiful, the quality and decor made it feel like we were in a real home. Having the owner connect us with locals(Midnight in Garden of Good and Evil tour - one of my sister's favorite books) was an added bonus. We loved the woman who ran the tour and she recommended dining spots that were great. She even got us a place in line at Paula Deen's restaurant for Sunday brunch, the perfect end to a great girls' weekend.

Savannah dream home away from home.

We have stayed in this townhouse many times over the
years and have always enjoyed our stay. The house is
close to the river for walking and to get something
to eat/drink. We also like that we can bring our
dogs and it is right on a square that we can take
them out to walk in. The townhouse is roomy and has
everything you need to stay there. I love to sit in
the back courtyard also. The only down sides that we
have seen is it is on the one end of town so you have
to walk a little more and you have to street park. More...

Manager Response to savannah101

Dedicated off street parking is always nice to have in Savannah but a luxury in our 275+ year old historic district. Parking is never an issue off Washington Square in the metered areas. Recommend a 48 hour parking pass for $12 which is not even required on weekends or after 5:00 PM.

Walking from the far Eastern quadrant from Washington Square to Vinnie Van Go Go's in the City Market as a for instance in the far western quadrant can be accomplished within 10 minutes or less for the most part.

Square living in Savannah

The property (#1010) is so convenient to everything that Savannah offers to its many visitors. You are just across the street from the beautiful Washington Square, one block from the river, a block from The Pirate House (a great restaurant)and just a few blocks from the bustling historic downtown area for shopping and more restaurants. Most items are within walking distance. We chose to rent a car at the airport and drive around due to heat and a day trip to Charleston. Street parking was easy and if spots were filled, a parking garage was just a short walk up the street. If you plan to stay longer than a couple of days, be sure to get a city-wide parking pass that allows you to park in any metered parking space or city operated garage without fear of a ticket. This saved us a great deal of trouble. The property was very clean and beautifully decorated. A trip to the local Kroger's and we had the frig loaded and ready to hit the town. Please check out the shows at the Savannah Theatre. Savannah is loaded with local talent and they put on a great show. We saw "The Beat Goes On." Tom, the owner of #1010 was so helpful with tips and suggestions. He saved us so much time (i.e. the parking pass and others). The living room and bedrooms are very spacious and after a few hours, it felt like home. If we ever visit Savannah again, #1010 will be our choice. More...
