We wish we would have asked if it was in a secluded area..We were not happy that it was in a neighborhood and there was a house in our view from the kitchen window. Also we weren't to pleased to have dogs barking at us or roaming on the back porch as we were cooking.. Yes I know the gates can be closed but not when you are unloading your car..The hot tub should be in the back for more private use..Even though I know it decorated with the owners touch it needs more lighting in the kitchen and central air would be nice. Too much noise when you are watching t.v. and the unit is running..They need to put a table or shelf to put your make-up and other items on in the bathrooms.. I am sorry to just have negative things to say but I do not feel it was worth the money.. We have stayed in Tennessee and Georgia and have enjoyed ourselves more than our stay in NC.. If we were to buy a cabin I would make sure it has more land and on the mountain or in the woods..

Basic needs not included; When we arrived, there was less than 2 rolls of toilet paper. Being that we were on a dirt road and not easily accessible to stores, this made it difficult. This is not a costly necessity and should be absorbed in the cost per night. Do not tell your guests to refer to the contract to see that guests are responsible for any additional use outside of 2 rolls that were given (for 7 people over the course of 4 days). Instead, apologize for the inconvenience and quickly stock the house with this basic necessity.
Stock the house with extra towels. Do not suggest to them (as we were) that there is a washing machine and dryer to utilize these appliances if more towels are needed. People are on vacation and do not want to do additional housework.
When guests call to request additional items (in our case, toilet paper or towels), please follow-up on the phone call with these guests. My call was not returned (even though I requested a callback). When I called back later that day (after a very busy day in Ashville), I was referred to the contract and told that no additional toilet paper would be supplied to us. At that point in time, we were out of toilet paper and had no plans to return to go to a store to make this purchase.
When guests call, please be courteous and professional. Because they are already in the house and already have signed the agreement and paid, do NOT refer them to the contract. Instead, apologize for any inconvience to them and do everything possible to make their stay enjoyable.
After traveling 2 days from Philadelphia to Ashville by car, we arrived earlier than expected to the property. When we called your office for earlier access to the house, we were told there would be an additional $60 fee would be charged to our credit card. In speaking with the gentleman, I was informed that amount was despite the fact that this property was empty and already cleaned the prior day. I agreed to the amount to be charged to my credit card because quite frankly, we were very tired and anxious to get settled into the home. Further, I was told that your company represents the owner of the houses and they were within their right to charge that amount. If this fee was waived or decreased (as requested), I would have been very appreciative and may have recommended this home.
Lastly, we were very suprised to find there was a home VERY close by the rental and they had dogs. This home was not represented well in the proximity to this other home with dogs that barked in the morning.
Combine all these factors (and additional charges), we clearly would not recommend either this rental site or the home. We travel a lot on business and pleasure and this clearly was not a good choice or fit.

Very Relaxing House |

| I loved the extremely spacious place. The only fault was, the showers were horrible. Little pressure and they leaked. Besides that, the place was very relaxing. We had a wonderful time. It fit eight of us very comfortably. We had a great time relaxing, grilling, and catching up. I would definitely recommend this house to large families or small groups. Last year we stayed in a separate house, and we were quite crammed. |

Tranquil setting |

The cabin was both rustic and beautiful and offered that mountain "get
away" atmosphere while still being close to Asheville. Our only major
issue was that the refrigerator died on us during the weekend, and
though they were very efficient in replacing it with a new one the next
day, it was still unfortunate to have to deal with, and a lot of our food
ended up spoiling. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and the beautiful
environment that surrounded us--especially from sitting in the hot
tub! Another question I should remark on is that we were wondering
if we could have access to the lake that you have to drive past in order
to get to the cabin. I think that should be included in the rental.
Thanks for a great weekend with many memories! |
