I hesitate to write a review about this place because I plan to stay there again and don't want anyone else to take it ! Oh, well. It was great. Perfect in fact. Took the family and my daughter's boyfriend there for a few days after Christmas 09. Was worried about the sleeping accomodations re: daughter and boyfriend but he was perfectly comfortable on the fold out sofa bed in living room. Just the right amount of space for us four, plenty of heat and hot water. Very clean, no problems. Jacuzzi works good, and not that long of a trot from the back door while wearing bathing suit in the snow. Not to worry, fireplace warms you up after getting out. Improved my skiing to the point of being totally stoked. Big Bear is a fun place during this time of year -- one of the best getaways my family has taken and we will defintely be back. BTW, this is our second experience with Big Bear vacations and both times they provided excellent accomodations and service. Thanks for the good time. More...

except for the fact that the office told us that the house has 5 bedrooms (which was the reason why picked that house specifically) while the house has 4 rooms only!! the experience was amazing and the furniture was very nice and neat. we loved staying there except for the 2 guys (not gays btw) who had to share one bed ! We were told that we could check in early...around 10ish. So we go to bed
late get up way too early and drive five hours to Big Bear with three adults
and two children under four crammed in our jeep. My brother, his wife and
their two year old were also waiting with us. We get there and nooooooo we
cannot check in because the cleaning crew has a certain schedule and our
house just happens to be magically last on the list. We check in early all
right at 3:30. Wow. We didn't get to make the wonderful Christmas dinner
we had planned on and we were all too tired to do anything exciting so we
went to bed. It took forever to figure out the hot tub that was outside on a
cold, unshoveled patio. Not worth the effort.
The house was cute, the bedding was sufficient, the fireplace was nice, the
squirrels were fun to watch, and it was nice being with family.
Those are the only good things.
The vacuum bag was full and no replacement was found so we could not
vacuum up after our children.
The firewood at the check in was way more than around town.
The deck and stairs were not shoveled well at all. In fact three of us fell the
last day. Alot of the cabinets are locked so you have no where to put
anything.
To top it off. The day we were leaving the cleaning crew that had us last on
the list for Christmas day check in had us first on the list for check
out....even though no one was checking in after us. I was soooo mad. The
front office told us that it was a holiday and check in was 10 not 11. Did
anyone know that Dec 28th was a holiday?
Oh and parking sucks!!!!!!
I would never stay at this house again unless these issues were resolved by
the rental manager. More...

Big Bear Vacations was undoubtedly one of the most proffessional and organized property managment/rental agencies I have dealt with. The whole process was very smooth and I would gladly rent one of their properties again.

The Home we rented was great and had a good number of the details you would need when being away from home. The Jacuzzi was very clean and worked well, the couches were so comfortable. the home is very cute and has bears all over the place.

Here are the negatives
1. The fan in the 2nd bedroom is so loud you won't be able to sleep.
2. the kitchen light if left on for "too" long will just shut off and not come on for hours on end.
3. the oven once turned on will be the most dificult thing to turn off.
4. our shower head broke off (the prop managment company sent someone out and replaced it immediately - on a sunday).

Other than all that - the place is still 4 stars. More...

The cabin was warn and relaxing. It made us feel right at home and added to our enjoyment of Big Bear.
