| We had a great time staying there. Would not recommend it for more then 5 people. We did find some dirty dishes, no big deal. We also found a dirty sock in one of the beds. Bigger deal. Otherwise it was a nice property and realy close to everything. It is close to skiing, but not walking distance, especially with all your gear. |

It was a great location as we wanted to be close to the ski slopes. There was a problem with the furnace which couldn't be fixed quick enough so they had to move us after the first night. I cannot complain because they moved to a nicer and closer cabin. The service was great.
It was very clean, and comfortable.
There where plenty of places around it to play in the snow so the kids had a great time.
if the furnace is fixed I would strongly recommend it.
We had nice trip, thank you to the people at big bear vactions for all they did for us. |

This was a great place. Perfect for 2 families, one bedroom for each family. Everything worked perfectly, very comfortable. Even though the place is for 7 there were not settings in the kitchen for 7. Also, there is a garage but if you have a large SUV or truck it might not fit in the garage. There is also no yard. We had small children and there was no place for them to play in the snow. These are not comnplaints just letting others know.
This was a great place. |

We got there and found that we had a garage! That was a total plus, especially because it was snowing hard, and we didn't really have to worry about clearing the car of snow (although we had to shovel the driveway). It was a nice cozy place with a working heater. There was even a washer/dryer, which was a plus.
One thing I didn't like was that there was a small dining table. |

I am writing to let you know about my experience with your Booking Company.
First of all, when I got to the Condo I rented, I was very disappointed, it was literally on back of an alley and it was not walking distance to the shops and snow spots. Fine, I wanted to make the most of it. We read ALL directions and did not mess with the chimney, just turned on the logs, well.....the rooftop to chimney was closed. It took about 3 hours to figure out the the smell and smoke was NOT going to get any better.
I called your office and the lady sent maintenance right away. When he saw my baby was sleeping and my other little boy downstairs, he said he could not do much but to talk to the office and see if they could get me another house and I should call in about 15 minutes.
I called and by then I was very worried the house smelled like toxic fumes and the smoke was not getting any better. The receptionist told me she had another house and we could go get the key. When we got there the house key was ready for us. I was very specific when I asked her if 7 people fit. Although, we didn't have 7 people, we needed the space for 7. She assured me that it was bigger. The location was beautiful, but it was NOT bigger. The house had: 2 twin beds, and 2 full size beds, I was in need of 1 additional bigger bed. This is the reason I booked the prior house and again, the house was much nicer, but it did not meet our needs.
Furthermore, she did not once ask if we ok, all she said was she liked the smell of our burnt clothes. She just said how the owner was not going to charge us for the upgrade. Excuse me.....why would we be charged if the house we rented smelled like toxic fumes?
We had to pick up the key, load the kids and grandma in to car, drop them off at new house, go pack up- everything we had already unpacked! We had a full fridge, bathroom toiletries, and lots of clothes. IT literally took us 1 hour to unpack when we go there, 1 hour to pack up to go to new rental, 1 hour to unpack at new rental, and then we had to wait an additional 2 hours for the water heater (same maintenance guy- the only person who apologized for what was happening to us) to get out water warm to be able to bathe. When your company gave us the house key they forgot to turn the water heater on. We picked up the key at apprx 9pm and we had warm(not hot) water at apprx. 1:30 am
My husband called Sunday morning (our check out time) asking we could extend our stay a few hours since we literally lost about 6 hours with the smoke incident, water heater and all the packing and unpacking. The receptionist (she knew our situation) said she could let us stay free of charge until 1 pm....oh thanks! That really gives us a lot of time to clean, and pack-up.
This will be the LAST time we use your services, and please know that we will be passing the word on our experience. I understand things happen, but you should have taken responsibility and at the very least apologize and extend our time with all the time and energy we lost. We were only staying 2 days, and we practically lost 1 day.
I look forward to hearing from you. |

The condo was OK, upon arrival very late at night we could not find Unit #4. The agent in the office was very nice to come to the condo to help us get in. It was very dark and cold and we had to walk into a very drak area between homes to find the back side. Once inside the rental, it was nice. The downstairs bathroom never flushed correctly and we used it once. My husband tried to use the plunder to get plain toilet paper to flush. No success, after trying to flush it about 7 times it finally worked. The master bedroom was freezing and had no heat to the room. There were no blinds on
the sliding glass door and were were forced to sleep in the other room. We were supposed to have our 75 year old parents with us and we would have been miserable sleeping in such a cold room. The seligh bed in the other room had a sheet that keep sliding off the bed with the plactic cover on the bed. We did not sleep well for both nights, even though this room was warm. We were disappointed that the price was so high for these inconviences. We didn't get to bed until midnight the first night and with no blinds on the window in the master, we would have gotten little sleep. Other than that, everything in the kitchen and family room were very good. |

Manager Response: October 21, 2008 |
| Big Bear Vacations strives for excellence and empathize with the fact that it was difficult to find the rental and the Master room was uncomfortable. We ry to explain directions in a detailed manor, however, sometimes the locations of our properties are difficult to find. An agent was available to assist the guest. We do hold a standard for inspection for our homes and oustide of our control, problems will occur and things will need to be reviewed. We have assesed the issue with the blinds and toilet and maintainance has been scheduled. As always thank you for your review. All reviews help us to better provide a quality experience for all of our guests. |
