We had a fun time staying at the cabin. It was built in the 1930s and has add ons so things are to be expected. Shower wasnt the greatest but there is a nice tub in the master. The sink valves in the master need tightening because the hot faucet will spin if your not carefull.
Fire place was nice, yard big with hot tub. Just a minute walk from the lake, near the Cowboy restaurant and close to town. about 5 mile from Oktoberfest Convention Center.
We love trying out new cabins and areas. This was the first on this side of town and near the lake. It was a great deal for the Oktoberfest Burgermiester Package (Highly Recommended).
This is not your upscale cabin but we had a great time. |

Big Bear Vacations was very flexible in helping us have a great 34th honeymoon. The first cabin was not adequate and had some issues with the plumbing, but the office moved us to this one and it was terrific. There are areas that could be improved, but it worked out well for us.

Upon arrival... not a very warm welcome for our first time or maybe the attendant was rushed? The floor plan of the home was very nice although it was missing some items like a toaster... and the oven not functioning. Great item was the spa, too bad it was too far away from the home to enjoy. We loved the cute swing on the porch... nice touch. The SPIDERS were not invited and were everywhere in the home. You may want to redo your shower, there is evidence of mold and mildew. Other than that, Big Bear was a very cute town with all it's quaint antique shops. We don't recommend dining at the Peppercorn. Won't mention the Hostess... Not real nice. I think we'll leave Fisherman's Cabin for the Fishermen. Thanks

The folks in the rental agency office are always there to help you with any questions you have or recommendations you might need in town. The cabin is small and cozy and for a couple... you really can't beat the price. I love getting away to big bear in the summer where the weather is not scorching and the lake is fun and refreshing.

We stayed there over the long weekend. The cabin was clean and well kept. I was a little nervous when I saw the 2 star rating and the description given was rustic but I was pleasantly surprised. All appliances worked yes, even the hot-tub. We all agreed that we would return to this cabin at another time. The beds were comfortable and the location was good. Our dog had outside space to run around. Thank you for a good cabin rental experience.

The house faced in from the road and though it was across the street from the lake, it really had no view or ambiance. It was well enough equipped but very basic. The hot tub is exposed to the world and inconveniently located about 50 yards across a flooded back yard. The gas fireplace was very handy. The price is right, however, and the company's service very good.

Thank you for your response to our survey on Fisherman's Cabin Unit 099. We are sorry this unit did not meet you expectations. We have ordered new quilts for the unit and they should be here mid-September. The cabins in Big Bear do not have air-conditioning. The only way to get ventilation is to open windows to allow a cross breeze. Please use us again and we will match you to a unit that better meets your needs.

The 3/4 bath is just too small. The feel of the place is nice and the rooms are cozy. I just didn't get to spend enough time there because I was too busy visiting my friends at their camp sites. I felt there needed to be a little more management review of the cabin before renters came in. I don't know that we were properly informed that we had access use to the Shore Acres Lodge across the street and whatever amenities that were offered there. Please don't get me too wrong, it is a fine cabin, my daughter and her boyfriend loved it, maybe I have been spoiled, and my nice Timeshare in town was extremely comfortable.

We were SUPPOSED to stay here. We even went to the office the first night and picked up the key but it didn't work. Went back to the office and they had switched our location because they had double booked the cabin, BUT THEY NEGLECTED TO TELL US! The new cabin was an upgrade, but 2 two story. The reason we wanted this one was because my child was on crutches. Personal at the office were rude. Would never use this company again.
