The size of the cabin was perfect for my son & I. Liked the pool table, nice touch. Everything seemless and comfortable.
To be aware of:
1. The bed mattresses are lousy, we could tolerate them, but they are not comfortable.
2. Front porch light did not light and the area is dark at night.
3. Advertised that use of the Shore Acres facitilies included, this is true, however, the pool and Jaquizi close at 7 p.m., thus could not enjoy after dinner and relaxation at say 9 p.m.
4. There are no real lake swimming area's at Shore Acres, so, don't expect to take a refreshing dip in the lake. The lake has many rocks and weeds off it's shore. |

The cabin is located in an excellent, easily accessible, convenient part of town. It is right by the water and has a good amount of land surrounding the cabin allowing for privacy.
The cabin was very dusty and no vacuum's or decent cleaning supplies are provided so we had problems with allergies.
The mattress do not seam to have been replaced (as stated on previous reviews that they would be). Therefore, being that I already have a bad back, my back was in pain.
It is a great cabin for summer, it has a lot of windows and natural light so it is very warm. I do not think that I would be able to tolerate the cold in this cabin as the insulin seemed kind of poor.
It is a cute comfortable cabin great for low-key chillin for the family. Great for relaxation.
My only suggestions, change the mattresses, provider a vacuum and cleaning supplies, clean the cabin before that client arises and don't stay there in winter.
All in all, it was worth the money that was spent,' |

"Fisherman's Cabin" is a cozy, cute, warm and wonderful cabin. It is quite and peaceful and right across from the lake where my husband went fishing and I enjoyed the pool and spa.
As a pet-friendly home our dogs enjoyed it also. We LOVE this wonderful place and plan to come back in the winter when it snows so we can ski as well since it is only a few miles from the local ski resort.
Another great thing is it was only an hour and one-half drive from Los Angeles, a convenient and beautiful drive up the mountian. We highly recommed this location; just not on the weekends that we want to stay there (smile). |

| The was nice from the Outside, though when i first got there with my friends, the pathway was not cleared, it was full of snow (which blocked me from parking the car inside). Furthermore, there was pet hair all over the place!!!! I call for customer service and the guy was rude, the guy from the complaint's department was even worse. We also tried using the chimney and it did not work, the smoke was not going up and as a result, we almost chocked to death, we had to pull the burning wood and throw it out to the snow to keep the smoke from filling up the whole cabin. I again called customer service and again, received the same rude people, which did not do anything to help. The guy from the complaints. When i returned the keys, i wrote a complaint letter, which was suppose to be followed up by someone other than the guy that took my other complaints, that was not the case, i received a call, from the same complaints person and to no vail, he replied with nothing useful. NO HELP AT ALL, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE, MY GUEST ALMOST CHOCKED TO DEATH, THE PATHWAY WAS FULL OF SNOW, THE CABIN WAS HORRIBLE DIRTY AND DILAPIDATED, I ALSO DID NOT GET A DISCOUNT OR ANY, ANYTHING IN RETURN!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Thank you for your response to Unit 098, Fisherman's Cabin Too. It now has an 8 foot pool table as an extra ammenity. Fires in Big Bear need to be started off small and built up with as little smoke to start as possible, otherwise, the heavy winter air will push the smoke in the house until the chimney shaft heats up and starts drafting. We have had the chimney checked by a chimney sweep and all is working correctly. |

They place was cute and comfortable. Not right on the lake, but within 100 yards across a street. Couldn't hook up the playstation to the tv but oh well to that. Only my son was mad!!
The biggest issue was with the fireplace. I know the flue was open but smoke poured into the houe and we had to extiguish the fire and remove the logs. We opened all the windows to get the smoke out. The book there said a regulations required all the flues to be wired open, but I think there was something wrong with this one and we complained upon leaving.
Aside from this, it was a nice stay. |

| The house was old and overpriced, but adequate for three fishermen. Upon checking in we smelled gas and had to call the rental agency to get the pilot lights lit in a very old stove. We discovered that the flapper valve in the toilet was broken and we had to call the repairman back. The main heater never worked. A prior renter had used charcoal in a gas BBQ making it un-useable. The beds/mattresses were horrible. We tried to call the agency after hours to fix the heater, but were put on hold six times. We noted our problems and concerns to the agency on checkout. Two days later the rental agency called me back, as promised, and I spoke with a very nice lady who personally heard our concerns and agreed to reduce our rental fee. Still, I do not recommend this house unless you really like your houses old and "rustic". |

| Thank you for your response to Fisherman's Cabin Unit 098. We have ordered new mattresses and waiting for their arrival. We are sorry the you didn't get a quick response while calling in a repair problem. The toilet has since been fixed. We replaced the BBQ with a new charcoal Weber. The heater has been checked out and is working fine now. We hope you will use us again. This unit is on the large side for a one bedroom unit and hope with these fixes you may try it or another unit. |

Lots of space |

The home is dated but there is a lot of space. It's nice to stay in a house rather than a small hotel. We rented the house at a discounted rate, which made the problems in the house easier to look past. I don't think it is worth the full price.
We were disappointed since we planned to have a nice quite evening next to a warm fire. I assumed the black smoke stains above the fireplace were there because people failed to open the chimney damper. I found out the problem was it was actually broken. No matter what we did we could not get all of the smoke to go out the chimney. It wasn't all coming into the room, but there was definitely a problem. We ended up having to open the windows to let the smoke out and cut the fire short. This combination pretty much ruined the evening because I can't handle smoke due to asthma and we had our 4 month old baby with us. Therefore opening the window was the only way to get fresh air in. Unfortunately it was quite cold out, which made the evening quite a bit more uncomfortable.
If you're visiting when it's warm and are not planning to use the fireplace it may still be a good choice. |

The cabin is very cozy. It is in a very nice area, and is quite roomy. It
has a spacious living area, with some comfortable couches. Its very
quiet and relaxing. I did have some issues though. first of all the
heating unit was on the fritz, so needless to say, it was a chilly night.
Not bad if your with a love one though (Snuggling time!). Some other
minor things include a out dated TV set with no A/V inputs. Again not
a problem if your there for some R&R, but if you have kids the video
games and DVD's will have to stay in the car. The land is overgrown as
well so no football games in the yard! Finally the bedding is
uncomfortable at best. The mattress is about 5" thick and full of
lumpy springs. I found the futon a better choice to sleep on. All in all
though despite these small problems, it is a nice place, in a nice
location, and a very attractive price. I recommend this Cabin for a
guys weekend out fishing (Like the name says!), but for a romantic
weekend getaway, there may be better choices out there... |
