I liked the house, it was clean. What I had issues with is the bathroom which faces the street has no curtians you can see in more at night with the light on. The bathroom in the second bedroom also had no curtains and faces the neighbors. The property had no broom which I had to purchase otherwise I would have been charged for not leaving a clean house. This was an incovience because I had to leave my vacation and purchase a broom then bring a receipt to them to get reimbursed. Why am I doing there work? I should have charged for the inconvience for getting a broom just like they would have charged if I didn't sweep the house. The internet also states there was a dishwasher and there wasn't one. The home was beautiful expect for the most distrubing thing there was no curtains in the bathroom windows. I also thought the steps coming from the entrance room & steps from living room to dinning room were a bit small. If they were a little large it would be better. All 3 of us fell on these steps. Other than the things above everything else was fine.

The place is located in a bit of hole which helps keep down the nearby highway noise. The kitchen was well equipped and seemed to be in working order.. end of "the good"
We call beds of 54X75 full or double.. not "Queen". The MBR with said bed was so small that there was barely a 10 in. clearance on one side and not a lot on the other. Said room was only about 9 ft from the refrigerator which cycled on and off all night while we bumped into each other. The pocket door to the MBR was nonfunctional so sleep was difficult. We could not get the TV/cable system to work in even though we have the same system at home. The spigot for the master bath had a GLOVE taped over it and resembled an overdue cow when the water was turned on. Maintenance had to be called to fix it. The kind man then spent and additional lot of time bringing the TV on line.. seems someone had left the thing in need of adjustment. Noxious fumes from some very recent work in the shower permeated the place. My wife developed a headache and I had to seal off the bath to make the place inhabitable. The time spent messing with the TV, calling and waiting for the M man to arrive and complete repairs ruined some of our evening plans.

Very clean and up to date amenities. Seems like it's been recently renovated. Kids loved the place. Cute and charming. Jacuzzi was a hit. Good games to play too. The neighborhood is nothing to write home about so if you're looking for a view or secluded area, this might not be the place for you. On the other hand, if you're out and about as we were and want a clean and comfortable little place close to town and resorts then this is the spot.

The cabin had everything a family would need to enjoy quality time together. There are 3 TV's in the cabin, a large flat screen in the living area, and one in each bedroom. The kitchen was clean as was the rest of the cabin. The cabin was quite a long way from the managing office and definitely not within walking distance of the village or marina, as stated. However, there is an antique shop, and Mexican restaurant within walking distance. The neighbors were relatively quiet and overall was a great local getaway experience.

Thank you for your response to our survey on Hillcrest Landing, Unit 916. We have updated the description and and location code for the unit. The unit is closer to the National Forest and it's hiking trail than the Village. We are sorry this caused confusion. Please come and stay with us again.

My family and I enjoyed the setting and backdrop of the cabin. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. The cabin was in great condition, with modern furnishings and great amenities. My kids loved the jacuzzi in the backyard under the stars and had to be pried out of it. The bedrooms were nice and clean and the gameroom added a nice touch for relaxing after returning from adventures in the town and surrounding area. The only scare was one of the neighbors large dogs got loose and scared my kids but that was not the fault of the owners of this property. Overall, we had a great stay and would highly recommend to a small group, family or a couple on a romantic get away.

The cabin was great except it lacked AC. Even
with all the windows open it was still ten degree
warmer inside than outside the cabin. We actually
cut our trip short by one day but not until after we
tried sleeping on the floor the night before. This
would be an excelent Winter cabin but way too
warm for the Summer.

The house was the perfect size for 3 of us. It was comfortable, had many conveniences (e.g. hot tub, stereo system, D-TV, BBQ, dart board, etc), and the location was ideal. However, the house seemed to be lacking simple household amenities. I recommend stocking the house with the following: enough guest towels for bathing and hot tub, soap for bathing (not just small bar for hand-washing),spices for cooking, paper plates, napkins, papertowels, plastic cups (for hot tub area),storage baggies (for sandwiches and leftovers), additional trash bags (for trash & recyclables). These simple things would go a long way to satisfying guests. Things to repair: 1. the refrigerator never seemed to get cold even at its coldest setting; 2. TP holder needs to be secured on the wall, kept falling off.
Otherwise, I/we would recommend this house to others.

Thank your for your response to our survey. We are sorry the lack of supplies (paper towels, cake bar of soap, plastic bags and spices) inconvienced you. We try to make it clear we to guest that these things are not supplied. We have an in-house laundry. Anyone wanting more towels can get them from our office as well as swap old one for new ones. The high altitude does play havoc with refrigerators. We try to keep them all sset on low to mid-range. The air is too thin to cool the refrigertor motor when it is placed on high--in fact it overheats the motors. Please come and stay with us again and experience a better vacation.

I enjoyed our stay with my family. Kitchen wan 2 bathrooms were nice, I particularly enjoyed the tv for movie night after the slopes. THe jacuzzi was wonderful clean and hot.

The one problem I had was that in the main bedroom with the full size bed there was cat hair all over the comforter and there was cat hair through out the home (even in the kitchen), despite a No PETS policy. That was a bummer...especially because my son is allergic to cats.

Oh yeah the foosball table was missing a ball, we left the one we bought behind , had lots of fun playing foosball.
pin Manager Response: July 12, 2009
Thank you for your response to our survey. We are sorry the foosball ball was gone when you arrived. We have an in-house housekeeping department available if something is in disarray. Our house are to be inspected prior to an arrival to catch these things. Please come and stay with us again.

We stayed just one day/night at Hillcrest Landing, and it was perfect! Had everything we needed and more - including HDTV and a jacuzzi for relaxing after a long day on the slopes. I was really surprised how up-to-date and clean everything was, and it definitely made our trip to Big Bear more enjoyable!

The only minor (funny) issue was the fact that Big Bear Vacations gave us a "welcome" bag that included coffee but no coffee filters were anywhere to be found. :)

We were pleasantly surprised about the quality and the size of this cabin. The cabin actually has two full bathrooms. The dartboard was fun for the whole family. We enjoyed the flatscreen TV and the owners obviously paid great attention to detail in the decorations, appliances and ammenities.

This cabin is a short walk to the Alpine Slide and the lake. We will definitely visit here again with our family.

We drove up to Big Bear for the Memorial Day weekend. Believe it or not, there was snow the first couple of days! The cabin we rented from Big Bear Vacations was really cute and located super close to the village and the marinas. We had a great time fishing, and loved coming back to the cabin to watch movies on the big screen TV.

The cabin was cozy and we enjoyed the outside barbeque while we were there, as well. I really liked the roomy entrance way. It was a great place to store our fishing gear!

P.S. Watch out for the curious grey squirrel, though. He watches over that place like a hawk. No nut gets past him!

Enjoy!
