Exciting Weekend
It was an exciting weekend. It was snowing the day we arrive and that was so awesome for me, wife, and two boys cause they have never seen snow fall. The cabin is nice and cozy, very comfortable beds. The rooms have no tv's, so the kids really didn't like that. But overall it was a good experience. There is one problem that I suggest should be fixed or put up a sign so no one can get hurt or get there car stuck. To the left side of the driveway parking lot there is a ditch between the cabin next door. with the snow that fell that night I stayed, the next day you can't see that there is a ditch there. My car got stuck there and I had to call a tow truck to pull my car out, so be carful. More...

Great Location - Perfect for Small Family
We stayed in the house on Winding Lane in December. My husband and I brought our young daughter (8 yo) and dog. It was a great location - close the Bear Mountain and Snow Summit - and also the big grocery stores in town. Yes, the house overlooks the main road through town (yet house if way up on hill) I didn't notice the traffic in the winter (windows closed).
My daughter loved the selection of children's movies that she could watch in the morning/evening; and I loved that everything was modern, relatively clean (we are picky) and the place was dog-friendly. The bathrooms and kitchen were nice (modern appliances); and also there is a full washer/dryer if needed. The only thing that would make this place better is wireless internet!
There were a few things that made this place less than perfect - the carpets were stained (assume from snowy weather), the cleaner seems to clean "around" and not "under things" and the bed in the master bedroom was on the soft-side.
That said, we would stay here again. More...

Dishearted
We were looking forward to a day in the snow with the dogs. Made it to the resort to pick up our paper work and keys. Everyone was wonderful, our excitement was very high. Found the property and it was very clean and cosy. We were so glad that the dogs were allowed in the home.
However, we settled in and began to read all the rental rules. The rules were so strick, we were afraid to touch anything. We understand that rules are needed but these were over the top. We have stayed in homes at Mammoth and never encountered such rules. When we saw the cost associated with even the minor violations, we were terrified.
We were very disshearted that so many restrictions and fees were associated with our visit. Especially when the home lacked so many things. If we had been a large party (4 or more) and we were staying the week or weekend, it would have been disasterous. We encountered the following:
-Glass right door of the fireplace dangled from the hinge. I was afraid to try to light a fire in case it broke. It was obviously broken for sometime but never fixed.
-Ther were no coffee or hot choc mugs
-Only left hand can opener which was difficult
-No baking dish for our chicken
-Very limited pots,pans,etc.. for cooking
-No shelf or vanity in bathroom to hold tooth brushes etc.
-There was no mop to clean up the entry due to snow. I had to use a towel out of our truck.
Anyway, everything appeared to say welcomed, but we felt unwanted. And, on top of all that, we cleaned the house from top to bottom (because of the fines) and we were still chared an $85 cleaning fee. For our one night stay, it cost us over $300. We stayd in Mammoth for a week for under $800.
Oh well, maybe we will do better next time. We love Big Bear and we love the resort folks. We are just thankful we got to take the dogs to play in the snow for one day.

Nice retreat
My husband and I enjoyed this beautiful cabin, and our weekend get away. We appreciated that it was close to Big Bear Village and Big Bear Lake. We wished it would have been a little ways from Big Bear Blvd, so when we sat on the decks we wouldn't have to hear the road noise. We brought our dog along and he had a great time too, Big Bear is such a dog friendly town!!
