Vacation Rental Description
Mar Vista Grande is located in the famed Ocean Drive section of North Myrtle Beach, and overlooks one of the widest stretches of beach along South Carolina’s Grand Strand. This ocean-side Penthouser unit is located on the south and street sides of the building, and views to the beach are available on the large corner balcony. This is a four-bedroom and three-bathroom condominium, and includes a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, dishwasher,wet-bar, wine cooler, ice maker and washer & dryer. The maximum occupancy for this unit is 12 people, with one bedroom furnishing one king-sized bed, a second room featuring two queen-sized beds, the third and fourth bedrooms housing two twin-sized beds a piece and a sleeper sofa in the living room. There are multiple TVs and DVD players in the condominium, a jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom, and high speed internet access available at the breakfast bar area of the kitchen.All condominiums at the Mar Vista Grande are complemented by excellent amenities including a fitness center with gym-quality equipment, a business center for computer and printer use, and indoor and outdoor water features including pools, spas, a kiddie pool, and a lazy river. Relax at the indoor pool to the soothing waterfall of our mosaic water wall. Amenities also include WiFi internet access in common areas, high speed internet in each condominium, and a street-side common patio area furnished with tables and chairs for you to relax and enjoy the fresh air and view of Ocean Boulevard. The Mar Vista Grande is a non-smoking facility. Parking is available on garage floors underneath the building. The Ocean Resorts rental office is located on the fifth floor, and an experienced and dedicated staff will ensure your complete satisfaction with every aspect of your stay at the Mar Vista Grande.

"Almost" perfect! |

The room was spacious and beautiful and the facilities overall were great. However, we were a little disappointed in the size of the outdoor pool, the indoor pool needs to be heated, more luggage carts are needed, and the 2nd floor pool bathroom makes it very inconvenient especially for parents who are potty training their children or for the elderly.
We had a problem with the ice maker and one of the treadmills in the fitness center but the problems were both addressed quickly after we reported them. The last night we stayed, our air conditioner went on the blink and made for a very uncomfortable night. We did report the problem and hopefully it was corrected in time for the next visitor.
All in all it was a great vacation! |

| Our penthouse was great!This was the first vacation the entire family was together in 6 years, since our youngest son went into the Marines. The condo was so nice we really didn't go anywhere else, there was no need to. Our 2 young grandchildren ( 1 & 3) really enjoyed the kiddie pools, and our older kids ( 24,27,& 31) loved being able to go from pool to ocean with such ease!!The penthpouse itself was so homey and confortable, my husband and I enjoyed the jazzuzi and the balcony. The kitchen was big enough that 3 women had plenty of room for us all to cook...We had a ball!!! Thank you!! |

Better than expected |

This unit was perfect for our family visit. Great southern view of the beach and
Ocean Drive. Kept blinds & curtains open all the time for great penthouse
views over town. Really liked separation between master suite, with enormous
lovely bathroom, and other 3 bedrooms. No problems with elevators, which
others had mentioned - very fast. Kids really enjoyed variety of pools, and we
appreciated many of them being covered from sun. Everything was lovely. We'll
be back! |

| The unit was wonderful. Spacious and well appointed and a great escape from -39 weather in Ottawa when I left. I was disappointed in the condition of the carpet in the living room, but friends told me that I should have gone to the office and it would have been shampood, so not really a problem. A few small kitchen items were missing, but nothing serious and a few more clocks would be nice, especially visible from the living room. Overall a great stay which I will repeat next year. The overall facility is great, with swimming pools, beach and shopping access and a very helpful office staff. Good parking facilities and a quiet building. Thank you very much for the great holiday. |

This condo is lovely and the pictures show that well. The kitchen
is easy to work in and well equipped. We enjoyed the view, but the
deck is very windy and does not have a table, so this limits use. We
had ample space when our children visited us and they enjoyed
the condo, the pool and beach. We found the staff to be very
polite and helpful. Water Aerobics in the morning, not only
provided exercise, but also helped us meet many other guests
staying at MarVista. A clock in the pool area would be helpful. We
thank you for a relaxing month and hope to return in 2010. |

| Spent a wonderful 7 days at the Mar Vista. Property was great but there were a couple issues. We had rented 4 condos and some of the rooms need repairs. Our friends did not have any TV's in there bedrooms and they were suppose to. In several of the rooms with TV's, the remotes did not work and we had to go out and buy batteries and some of them still did not work. Needed light bulbs in one of the condos. It is a great place to stay and I guess you have these issues anywhere you go. I would definitely recommend the property to others. Very nice. |

We just spent a week at the Mar Vista Grande, Unit 1516.
We've stayed at the Mar Vista before and have been pleased.
This unit is a 4 bedroom and nicely appointed. When we
arrived we immediately noticed that it didn't look like it had
been vacuumed or dusted. I told the personnel on the 5th
floor and they gave me a new vacuum bag upon my request.
They did offer to send up house cleaning staff but then never
did. So I started out my vacation vacuuming and cleaning the
entire unit. We are not germ-phobic by any means but the
unit was clearly not cleaned before our stay. Having small
children, we didn't feel comfortable having them play on the
dirty floors. Also, the dishes and silverware provided was
dirty and disorganized. The dishwasher was also full when we
arrived - that was yet another chore I had to do before
beginning my "vacation". I don't think this experience was
the fault of the homeowner as I think it was more the result
of incompetent, lazy cleaning help. The light beige rug
throughout could also use a serious cleaning..
The indoor & outdoor pools were both very cold. A resort like
this should heat the indoor pool.
Lastly, we may stay at the Mar Vista again but certainly not in
this unit

Thank you for your recent review regarding your stay at the Mar Vista Grande, Unit 1516. The cleaning issues you experienced during your stay are very disturbing and something you should never have to deal with while on vacation. You are vacationing to relax and have fun - not to spend time cleaning. We will certainly check with the housekeeping department to find out why your request to have them re-clean the unit never happened. Not only is this embarrassing for us but also a great inconvenience for you to experience.
I have spoken with the Noble Company, the Mar Vista Grande property management company, which handles the grounds and pools. I suggested to them that they monitor the temperature of the pools more frequently during October due to the fact that our outdoor temperature at that time begins to cool off.
We do hope that you will return to the Mar Vista Grande in the future and find your next visit everything it should be.

Condo was everything we expected. Beautiful accomadation, beautiful view.
Loved being on the top floor. Being a side view was not a problem. Could see the shore line South, could see Ocean Drive and also Highway 17. Had a good view of the fireworks from Barefoot Landing. If any issue and it wasn't a problem for us was the living room was small. Each bedroom had a flat screen TV, large balcony. Will stay here again. |
