Vacation Rental Description
Lucy Cummings built this 2 bedroom, 1 bath Victorian in 1903 and perhaps planted the two purple and pink bougainvillea that cling to her porch and frame the bedroom window.
This newly restored 920 square foot cottage is on Pacific Grove's historical register, but it has been completely modernized in the recent remodel.
The enlarged bathroom might have struck Lucy Cummings as a bit indulgent, but we find the shower with corner seat and multi-paned window an inviting reward after a day spent biking the nearby recreation trail, combing Asilomar Beach, or Golfing the Pacific Grove Municipal golf course.
And a bonus room houses a washer/dryer and small desk to write a postcard home. Wide plank redwood flooring now gleams with new warmth even on a foggy day.
Morning light filters through clouds of simple, creamy, sheer curtains at the many tall windows.
Vanilla and white bedrooms contrast with the soft sage green walls of the living and dining room where a windowed alcove is the perfect space to cozy up with a book or watch a movie. While the decor is early 20th century, the comfort and convenience are all early 21st.
The cheerful, open kitchen has a dishwasher, disposal, self-cleaning gas oven, range, and microwave.
Monthly rates include local phone service, cable TV, water, trash collection, and all related taxes, fees and move-out housekeeping. Monthly rates do not include gas and electricity.

| This property is close to everything. The water, downtown, shops, and some of the nicest people in Monterey. We had no issues with the neighborhood or the rental company. In fact, the only issue we did have was minor and fixed that very day with no questions. Highly recommend for that great escape. |
