At “Bay Laurel,” a newly built, two-story, three-bedroom, two and one-half bath home, you may help yourself to the Carmel lifestyle, where cultural events, boutiques, galleries and fine restaurants are within a minutes of your front door. Named after the Bay Laurel trees in the garden, “Bay Laurel” has been elegantly decorated and furnished with the warmth and healing properties for which the Bay Laurel tree is known. Its warm, earth-tone colors provide a feeling of inner peace and tranquility. Try to resist the overwhelming urge for indolence in this old-world style cottage of approximately 1,680 square feet.

Enjoy the warmth and beauty of the Carmel stone gas fireplace in the living room, where, through the large picture windows and French door, you can view a variety of birds feeding in the sturdy oak trees. The walls are adorned with local art and photography. There are plenty of local entertainment books that will help you plan your days on the Monterey Peninsula.

The property is equipped for your entertainment with cable TV on a large, flat-panel screen, DVD, VCR, and stereo in the living room, as well as flat panel TVs and DVDs in two of the guest bedrooms. Wireless internet service is provided, although you may forget to check your email, once you arrive!

In addition to the Carmel stone fireplace in the living room, you will also find one in the master bedroom, adding to the romance.  Radiant heat under the hardwood floors and limestone tile and carpet in the bedrooms will keep your tootsies warm!

The maximum number of guests (including children) who may be accommodated at this property is six.  All three bedrooms are on the downstairs level, which is below the street on this sloping lot. The master bedroom suite has a king bed and spa tub bath featuring a tub with jets with shower over tub and also a Carmel stone, natural gas fireplace.  The view through the French doors is of the garden, where you can also enjoy not only the sight but the song of a variety of birds while you sip your morning cappuccino on the patio.

The queen-size guest room also has French doors that lead onto a patio and offers an even better view of the garden.  The third bedroom has a twin with trundle bed and is furnished in the same elegant style as the other rooms. The guest bathroom includes a shower over tub.  You will find a half bath on the main level.

A laundry room, complete with full-size washer and dryer, is available for your convenience. 

You will enjoy the outdoor spaces at this property as well as the indoor spaces!  This property has a patio, deck, and patio furniture. The private, sunlit garden patio, downstairs off the carpeted master suite and guest room, is perfect for relaxing after a morning at the beach. Delight in the ever blooming, native plant garden while lingering on a garden bench near the old California Bay Laurel surrounded by hummingbirds and the scents of a Mediterranean garden.

Take pleasure in all the modern day amenities, from the gourmet kitchen with top of the line appliances and accessories to the terraced upper level patio just off of the dining room. The dining room table will seat six, and the patio will accommodate a party of six as well. This is a great place to barbeque, and the deck is the place to have an elegant outdoor dinner or cocktail party. Your guests will enjoy the beauty of the twisted oak trees and the wildlife they attract.

Clean up in the kitchen is made enjoyable when, through your kitchen window, wafts the melodious notes of the Bach Festival (or even the rehearsals!) coming from Sunset Center across the street. The kitchen is equipped with a professional, Viking gas stove with six burners and convection oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, disposal, and refrigerator.  Each home is fully furnished and equipped with cookware, dinnerware, and kitchen linen. Beds have mattress pads, sheets, pillows and pillow cases, blankets and bed spreads or comforters. There are at least one bath towel, hand towel, and washcloth per person plus some extras. There will be enough soap and paper products to get you started comfortably  ( click here for a complete list! http://www.montereyrentals.com/furnishings.html )..  It is the philosophy of Monterey Bay Property Management that you should need to bring nothing with you except your clothes and your groceries when you are a guest in our vacation rental homes. 

Monthly rates include local phone service, cable TV, water, trash collection, and all related taxes, fees and move-out housekeeping. Monthly rates do not include gas and electricity.
