Fantastic Ocean Front View |

We spent a wonderful week at The Breakers, an ocean front home just south of Duck. (Not to be confused with the mansion called The Breakers.) The view is spectacular!
The home is spacious with an open floor plan, a large well equipped kitchen, plenty of windows, nice furnishings and has a warm, inviting feel to the place. Having two refrigerators was a definate plus. The home has a fairly large deck and the living room has a nice fireplace.
Overall, the property is well maintained.
The location offers easy access to a grocery store, pharmacy, etc. Duck is a few miles north and we enjoyed exploring this charming town.
On the downside, the bath and kitchen areas have not been updated in quite awhile. That may be an issue for some.
The rental was not available until 6 pm Saturday. We recognize that preparing the house is time consuming. However, a 6 pm arrival time is disappointing. It seems that with a 10 am check out, there is time to get the next tenant in a bit earlier.
We had a great time, enjoyed the house, beach and this area of the OBX.

First vacation ever to the beach for my 2 sons, their wives, and my 7 grandsons ages 1 thru 12. I visit the Outer Banks 4 or 5 times a year so I wanted my family to experience the same peace, relaxation, and fun I enjoy.
This house was perfect for us with great views of the ocean, single level so little ones didn't fall down stairs, and closeness to the beach. This property gave us everything we needed for the perfect family vacation. |

A second home with everything |

We all were so pleasantly surprised with how lovely and well
laid out our beach house was. The weather wasn't ideal for
the first few days so we spent much of the time inside the
house but with the beach and water right outside we didn't
mind. There was also lots of room for napping, eating and
reading. There were eight of us and we never felt enclosed
and had plenty of room to spread out. We ate in quite often
and enjoyed the space for preparing our meals and the large
table so we could eat together. The house was equipped with
almost everything you could need or want.
There were a few small items that need attention:
1. Both great room table lamps don't work - missing prongs
on plugs.
2. Ice maker is struggling to keep up
3. We couldn't get the DVD to play on the TV - we had three
guys try to figure it out but were unsuccessful. So either
something wasn't hooked up properly or we needed
instructions. |

| Nice home with plenty of amenities. Great deck overlooking beach. Only 20 feet from deck to beach. Needs an entryway porch light!!! |
