This beautiful home features large gourmet kitchen with commercial stove/ovens, two dining areas to seat up to 28, four oceanfront master suites, large 16' x 32' dune top, and over 1500 sq. ft. of wrap around decks. All 9 bedrooms are tastefully planned and decorated. All baths are furnished with imported ceramic tile and marble. L'escale is designed for gracious entertaining and is the ultimate in family comfort. Great for family reunions or corporate retreats! Total sq. footage is approx. 5,400. The pool 16x32 and may be heated for an additional fee of $500, plus tax. You will need to bring your laptop and cable for the High Speed Internet Access. The property and loacation was great. We were able to fit our entire family (30 people) under 1 roof. Having a large pool and access to the ocean just a few feet outside the house was perfect.
The kids trully enjoyed themselves as well.

We really enjoyed our stay in Duck at the L' Escale. The house was very comfortable. We loved all the decks that overlooked the water. We enjoyed the fact that many of the rooms have their own bathrooms. The Four Seasons complex has lots of activities for all ages. There is a work out facility, tennis courts, indoor pools, playgrounds, and running trails.
I wish the set up of the house was slightly different though. In a perfect world, I would have liked the entertainment floor (pool table, jacuzzi, big screen TV) to be on the bottom floor. It got a little loud at night and during naps for our diverse crowd.
We also had some trouble prior to our stay with the realty company. |

| The home was in a great community. Renters the week before us left fish in frig downstaires and gave an awful odor on bottom floor rooms. Took frig out to garage and tried to clean it. |

We expected that we wouldn't have as many problems with
the house as we did. It was described as having everything. It
is a large capacity beautiful house right on the beach. That is
why we paid the huge price. This was a family reunion to
commemorate the 1-year anniversary of our 91-year-old
Mother's death. If we had found the house as advertised, it
would have certainly been worth every penny. We were
thrilled to read the description on the website. Seaside
Vacation Rentals must take responsibility for some of the
misleading advertising (example, we called them and they
told us there was a new gas grill - we found 2 rusted picnic-
style grills too bad to use and had to buy one at jacked up
prices in Duck). The owners provided their own towel service
and the towels were dollar store issue. Of the two coffee pots
provided, one was broken and the other one had to be
replaced because it leaked. We never received the 2nd one.
The outside seating on the decks consisted of a wooden
picnic table on the ground and 3rd levels, and some chairs on
the 3rd level and around the pool. There were no chair pads
for any of the chairs (except 4 chaise lounges). There was
one hot tub. The pool service person was verbally abusive
about the amount of sunscreen in the tub, and that the pool
had beach sand in it. We inspected both and found them
probably normal for being cleaned out once per week for a
house for up to 32 people. (The ad has now been changed to
read 24) Shouldn't there be a 2nd hot tub? In addition, the
beach equipment mentioned? -- there is none. It's all broken
or not there. We know this won't be printed, but since you all
did not respond to our written review in August, we thought
this might get your attention. We won't contact Seaside again
for vacations anywhere. |

We are happy to hear you found the home beautiful and in a great location.
We’ve researched your reservation and find no notes indicating that you contacted our office during your stay to report unacceptable conditions with your rental home. We are happy to respond to deficiencies if we are notified of them.
L’escale is a wonderful home and although all items found in the home are kept in good working order, it is possible that an appliance may malfunction during your stay. If something does not work, we work hard to get your vacation back on track as soon as possible. Our maintenance staff will immediately place the appropriate service request and call you back with a status report.
We are sorry for any confusion surrounding the grill. We do not advertise this house as having a gas grill; so there would not have been one at the home upon your arrival. We advertise that all homes provide a grill, (charcoal or gas). In addition, we do not advertise beach equipment at this home. We are happy to provide you with local vendors that rent beach umbrellas, chairs, etc. at your request.
As for amenities and décor, all homes are individually owned (as specified in our lease agreement) and therefore are decorated and furnished to the taste of the homeowner. We are happy to pass your comments on to the property owner so they can make any needed improvements.
We appreciate your comments and/or suggestions regarding this home and will use these to better accommodate guests in the future.
