A Wonderful Family Christmas @ Lookout Lodge!!

From the first call to Marty to ask questions and make the reservation, to the closing of the door the day we left Lookout Lodge...it was all a wonderful experience!
We brought 16 family members together from Michigan, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee for a Johnson Family Gathering at Christmas! It was a much anticipated event and our experience staying at Lookout Lodge did not disappoint. It is an incredibly beautiful home with all of the extras and amenities of a fine home. Well appointed furnishings and decor, fully stocked and spacious kitchen, generous dining table served us well for all our meals as well as the Christmas Cookie decorating contest! There was plenty of room for everyone to move about, play games in the game room, watch movies in the theater, enjoy family games in the living room or just to sit and read or nap by one of the two warm fireplaces. Of course the view from the spacious porches...was just so beautiful each morning and evening to look out on the mountains. And taking a walk was a lot of fun with the steep road grade. We had snow the day we arrived and built a snowman that was the hour glass for the week. It melted down as the days warmed up and the day we left was just a remnant of a snowball. We saw a black bear cub running across the road as we drove up to the Lodge one night. That was a treat! We now have so many wonderful family memories from the week together at Lookout Lodge to share and enjoy. We hope to come back! --The Johnson Family

Administrative Improvements Badly Needed for Door Lock System

This is a great unit. HOWEVER, we had 2 VERY bad experiences with the the DOOR lock code provided by management. When we first inspected the unit, the door code provided would not work, called the managers and was given another bad door code. After the third try and over 20 minutes of frustration we finally got the door unlocked. When we arrived on our vacation the door code unlocked the door but the burglar alarm immediately went off. Called the office and got a recording and NO RESPONSE FROM A HUMAN. After listening to the deafening alarm for over 45 minutes, finally got a response from managers and got the alarm turned off. The alarm noise was terrible. Then we got a visit from the sheriff and had to prove we were not burglars. Management needs to give more accurate code numbers and instructions for the alarm system. This was a very bad experience. More...

Family Reunion

Reservations were easy and replies to question courteously answered. Made reservation in Oct. and had forgotten about the insurance when payment came due in June so was a little thrown but understand the need for it.
The facility was great, appreciated the fact it had air condidtioning although we mostly used it to dehumidify the air. The kitchen was well appointed and I ddin't need the crock pot I brought because one was there. The main floor bedroom was appreciated by the 83 yr young matricarch. The downstairs was turned over to the family with younger children so they had their own space. We really didn't make use of the home theater because there were plently of activities, games and people to keep us entertained The scenery was lovely and access to nearby grocery store was appreciated. We did Dollywood and hiking in the Great Smokies and one day of minature golf in Pigeon Forge. Plenty to do, one group went indoor skydiving. We enjoyed the ability to get away from the hubbub of Pigeon Forge area and get above it all. The least liked was probably having to clean up the trash after a critter got into the garbage can. We made sure it was well shut the next day. There were 13 of us and well accomodated. More...

Great cabin for a large family!!!!

This cabin was absolutely perfect for our large family of 14.We have so many great memories that it's hard to decide what to talk about first!!I must start with Marty, the person who helped me book this cabin. He was extremely helpful and patient in answering all of my questions. Everyone in our family enjoyed having their own bedrooms and full baths. There was not one feature in this cabin that we did not get good use of.The theater room worked out great for the little ones watching movies and we all enjoyed the spacious hot tub. Don't let me forget to mention the game room. I even learned how to play Bumper Pool! We also loved the enormous deck space available, especially the deck area right off the dining room. We were all able to eat together using the large dining table and snack bar. The cabin was stocked with more than we expected which made it feel like home. During our week stay, we could not stop admiring the beautiful decor throughout. One feature that we also all loved was that this cabin was not hanging off the edge of a mountain like the one we stayed in three years prior. With little ones around,it's much more relaxing and stress free to know there is an actual yard outside. The entire trip was wonderful and if we ever return, we will for sure look this cabin up again. You just can't go wrong staying at the Lookout Lodge!! More...

Wonderful

I am an associate pastor at a church in Boonville Indiana. I also take
care of the youth and every winter we take them on a spiritual retreat.
We try to get away from here and everything else and just focus on
God and have a good time. This year far exceeded all our expectations
with the cabin that we rented. The Lookout Lodge was so beautiful
and home like! Everyone had a wonderful time and it was exactly the
type of property we were looking for! We will do our best to get the
same next year! Thank you so much!
