Vacation Rental Description
"Newly built 3 bedroom/3.5 bath modern cottage located 5 houses from private beach access. The comfortable living area has a 32" Flatscreen TV/DVD/WIFI . All furnishings are contemporary, clean and light w/Designer Guild fabrics. A gourmet kitchen with commercial gas range, Bosch dishwasher, and marble countertops completes this living space . Screened porches flank the living area for extra outdoor space and seating. The master bedroom on the main floor opens with French doors to a large pool. The adjoining master bath includes a jacuzzi tub and custom wall hung vanity. This suite also has a flat screen TV/walk in closet. Upstairs, are two bedrooms, one being a second master with a private porch with a daybed for reading and relaxing. The adjoining custom double sink bathroom has marble floors, Bisazza tile, and teak custom cabinetry w/garden tub for two. The second upstairs has a vaulted ceiling and accomadates 4 with platform beds. It has an adjoining bathroom w/large shower, Ann Sacks tile, and Duravit sink. The third floor tower can be accessed by spiral stairs from the second floor porch. Beautiful sunsets and gulf views can be enjoyed from here as well as a relaxing nap in the hammock. The outdoor pool is equipped with grill and teak dining table with seating for six, lounge chairs.

Nice home with large pool, close to beach |

My family rented Dwell By The Beach in August 2008. The home was very nice with contemporary furnishings and high end elements throughout. Lots of space, only three of us and we had more than needed. The upper balconies are great for relaxing/reading/etc. The pool was as large as it looks in photo! The beach access is not far from the home, just a few houses and across one street- you can leave your beach chairs, etc. under the walk during your stay, making it easier. Close to Alys, Rosemary, Seaside beaches.
The issues I encountered were the following:
-The home had not be cleaned upon arrival.
We cleaned our first evening, washing the sofa slipcovers(so thankful for the slips!), washed dishes (all cooking essentials were few, old, rusty, dirty) washing all bedding, even the extra bedding in closets was filthy! The towels were all clean- I believe they use a service or Sand Castles Escapes launders? Plenty of towels. Definately a stretch when they say furnishings are CLEAN! I think they should have paid me a fee.
-I expect to have some sand in a beach house, but the floors were DIRTY and there was garbage under the sofa(I have a photo), webs, dead bugs, you name it. Rugs needed hosing/cleaning also. I did not expect to clean on my holiday, as we had to pay a cleaning fee. The middle upper balcony had HAIR everywhere! Someone shaved their dog or themselves. Obviously the cleaning staff never inspected.
The grill never worked, therefore we used the range grill and the smoke alarm went off each time, as not properly ventilated. Hassel.
The pool was clean upon arrival, however, no additinal cleaning during stay. We have rented before, and the pool was cleaned again during the week. It gets pretty bad with sand, dirt etc. throughout the week! My 6 yr old Loved the outdoor shower!
Two lovely screened porches- but useless in August, as the screens were ripped on both on both doors- ie: bugs galore.
I phoned Sand Castle Escapes office regarding all issues, with NO REPLY at any time during our stay.
This is a nice home and I would rent again provivded the home was clean and all listed ammenities were in good/working condition. I would have to inspect WITH a Sand Castle Rep. before unpacking. |

True relaxation |

We enjoyed our stay here. The house was lovely and very
relaxing for my family. Very nicely decorated in a modern
style, which suites us well. the hammock on the roof level
was wonderful in the morning.There was a nice desk set-up
where my husband could do some work, while my son and I
played in the pool.
It is a little bit of a walk to the beach however. With my 8
month old and all his stuff, going down the 4 flights of stairs
to the beach was a little tedious. There is not a place to leave
a stroller by the beach access either, so we had to carry him.
If I was more of a beach person instead of a pool person it
would have mattered to me more.
It was a lovely stay, we will definitely stay there again. Only
thing is that if you plan on cooking, you should bring some
pots and utensils and silverware. All the appliances and
furnishings are nice, but there is 1 pot and a couple of really
cheap silverware sets that broke while we were using them.
All in all a very nice stay. |

| Let me satrt by saying we have been traveling to this area for atleast 15 years so we know what to expect in a rental property. When we arrived the home was filthy, the yard is all overgrown and there was trash scattered all over the yard. We called the rental company Beach Seekers and the OWNER was so rude and basically said I saw the house on the the website and there wasn't anything he could do. He did however send a cleaning crew that cleaned the house NOT well. We rented this property for two weeks and we asked to be moved and they said there was no availability. The grill did not work,the kitchen was not well stocked, the beds were like sleeping on a rock, the screens on the porch were busted out,the bikes were broken as you can see the list goes on and on. We recently purchased a vacation home in Seacrest and we will be sure not to use Beach Seekers as a rental management company. Lastly, I cut my foot on a piece of broken glass that was in the rug in the family room so I had to call Beach Seekers to get them to provide a vaccum b/c the house did not have one. We also had to ask for an iron and adequate bed linens. Needless to say we just tried to enjoy our vacation with our kids but I would never tell some one to rent this property or to go through Beach Seekers. Hopefully this has not happened to another family. It was disappointing to feel like you wasted so much MONEY! |

Upscale home--needs a good cleaning! |

This is a newer, upscale home in easy walking distance to the
beach. Our rental service needs to get some service!I guess
since they already had our money it didn't matter to them. This
home could be very nice, but was not clean and had some
maintenance issues. We called immediately upon checking in to
report damages, dirt, and baby diaper in the pool. We weren't
even sure if the pool had been serviced. We got no response
from left phone messages and e-mail we sent. I will NOT rent
from sandcastle escapes again! |
