Nearby are two great community pools, a tennis court (which you can see from the upper deck), and a playground for the kids. The bike trail runs all along 30A and gives you miles of level, easy riding adventures. Nearby are the recreation areas of Camp Creek Golf Club (5 miles), Grayton Beach State Park (2.5 miles), Point Washington State Park (1.5 miles), Deer Lake State Park (3.5 miles), and our favorite Eden State Park with lovely grounds and gardens and its historical plantation house (3.5 miles). The main floor features a large wrap-around screened-in porch with plenty of chairs and rockers and a table for outside dining. The house which is also handicap accessible has wireless Internet connection for all of you laptop lovers. The inside is open with a spacious, fully-furnished kitchen, dining area, and living room. On the 2nd floor you'll find two roomy and colorful bedrooms with queen beds, their own bathrooms, TV, and doors out to the porch with its comfy chairs and a table for enjoying a cup of coffee or even a private meal. You can relax in the jacuzzi tub off the master bedroom. Go up the stairs to the loft and find a great area for the kids or a get-away for adults with TV and a wet bar boasting a sink and fridge. Each end of the loft has decks overlooking the lovely homes and streets of the community. You can get a breath-taking view of the starry night-time skies. There is sleeping for 4 with a full futon sofa bed and a bunk bed.Outside the house you'll find a secluded shady yard with the sweet scent of magnolia trees and Rosemary bushes. The outside shower is a convenient way to wash away the sand. There are bikes for adults and children plus water toys for the pool or beach. | We know the owners so knew it would be a great place. This was our second stay. Didn't want to leave. The weather was perfect all week. It was just a short drive to Destin and, in the other direction, to Panama City Beach. We also enjoyed an art show in Rosemary Beach just 15 minutes away. The kids, of course, loved the pool and the beach. We also found a nice church to attend close by. |

| This was the perfect home for our family. We have several young children and did not want to be right on the beach. This home is in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood that is only a 5 minute walk to the beach. We also had access to the bikes, wagon, and beach toys. The two neighborhood pools were fantastic. The home was colorful, spacious, and had everything we needed. The balconies were especially enjoyable! Our family plans to come back and this is the only home we would consider renting! |

Wonderful family neighborhood with two great swimming pools,
playground and tennis courts. The kids loved riding their bikes
around the neighborhood. We loved the close location to
Seaside, and walked there everyday. The home is decorated so
charming! The upstairs bedrooms and baths are very spacious.
The decks were great to hang out on. |

Re: Making Memories
Seagrove, Florida
August 2, 2008 – August 9, 2008
To Whom It May Concern:
On August 2, 2008, we arrived at the cottage Making Memories at approximately 3:30 p.m. after a five (5) hour drive from Louisiana for our second stay in this same cottage this summer and second time with your rental agency. Upon entering we found the whole house offensively filthy and messy with nothing in its place. There were dirty dishes, counters tops, kitchen table and chairs, coffee table all filthy. There were empty water bottles and trash all over the house and porches on all three floors. There was crumbs and food on the floor and under the sofas, tables and beds. The beds were not made and still had dirty sheets on the beds. There were towels along with dirty clothes in the bathrooms and bedrooms. The bathroom drawers and shelves and bedroom furniture drawers filled with hair and dirt. The tubs, shower, sinks, toilets were filthy. In the refrigerator on the third floor there was a washcloth, empty water bottles and food. There was trash in all of the garbage cans and trash baskets inside of the house. There was food in the refrigerator on the first floor and the bottom of the refrigerator was still dirty even after we finally checked in at 6:54 p.m. There were dirty towels all over the house and in the laundry area. There was a note on the kitchen table that stated that the futon on third floor was broken. There were toys scatter everywhere inside the house and on the porches. We called to notify you of the situation at approximately 3:30 p.m. only to be told that check in was not until 4:00 p.m. We called you again at 3:47 p.m. just as we were leaving the house and my husband spoke to Lloyd about the situation, only to be told that check in was not until 4:00 p.m. and that we should not be there. We are very, very upset at this point. My husband told Lloyd that we would return after 6:00 p.m. and that we expect the house to be cleaned. Of course a three-story home cannot be cleaned in 13 minutes before check in at 4:00 p.m. We feel that the house should have been cleaned thoroughly no later than 3:00 p.m. regardless of what time check in was, especially since check out time is 10:00 a.m.
We finally checked at approximately 6:54 p.m. and the house appeared clean and orderly. However, there were only 4 washcloths and an ample supply of towels. We made at least five phone calls if not more between Saturday and Monday afternoon. Finally, I spoke to someone on Monday afternoon and explained that we had nine (9) people sharing washcloths which is very unsanitary and that we would like to all bathe and shower before going out to dinner Monday night. I also explained what happened on Saturday, August 2, 2008 and that were not happy. Someone did telephone me to let me know that the washcloths were on the way and were there within the hour, which we greatly appreciated.
Also, when we were in the pool in the rear of the subdivision a group of teenagers drove up with bicycles, parked them and then entered the gate. Some of them appeared to be drinking Coors Light Beer. One girl was putting the drink in her mouth and spitting it at a boy several times and also spitting it on our clothes, towels and belongings. There was also broken glass on the ground at the rear swimming pool. One of my granddaughters got two pieces of glass in her foot. A couple of days later there was a gentleman smoking a cigar at the same pool area during our stay. Several of the children in my family that were there in the pool, myself included have asthma. We all had to leave the pool immediately. People die every day from asthma attacks. We do not wish to be one of them.
You should also note that housekeeping arrived at 9:30 a.m. on August 9, 2008, thirty minutes before our check out time at 10:00 a.m.
We have stayed in this same neighborhood many, many times before with other rental agencies. I have never encountered such treatment. We are still not happy to say the least.
We would have appreciated an apology regarding the condition of the house and delay in checking in, which we did not receive. We allowed you more two (2) hours, almost three hours of our time to have the house cleaned. I expected at least an offer of a late check out at the end of our stay, or a refund of money for time in which the house was not available, however, to date none of the above was been offered to us. What made the situation even worse is when housekeeping showed on August 9, 2008, at 9:30 a.m. Thirty minutes before our check out time at 10:00 a.m. We look forward to hearing from you regarding the above.
Sincerely,
Melanie Resor

We enjoyed a week of making memories with our two daughters and their families. The only thing missing was our son's family. It is a lovely home, decorated so beautiful and near pools, playground and beach. We especially loved the bikes provided by the owners. It was truly one of the nicest vacations we have enjoyed as a family.

We Loved This House |

Wayne and I were married on the beach in Seagrove. We stayed in making memories for a week. We have 7 kids and 6 of them stayed with us. We had plenty of room for everyone.
The beach is just a short walk. There are bicycles supplied there too, which we used a lot. We will be returning to the house one day.
The owner was very nice. She worked with us to make some unussual payment arrangements to take payments monthly until the wedding. This helped us out big time with all of our other wedding expenses.
You will not regret staying here. I love the charm they have giving this home, and I know you will too. |
