Paradise Point has spectacular Lake Michigan sunsets. Located on Cecil Bay, which is approximately seven miles from Mackinaw City, ships and freighters can be watched as they pass through the Straits of Mackinac. Paradise Point is a great location for a family vacation or a private couple s getaway. Walk along the sandy shoreline for miles or take the included canoe or paddleboat on the lake or carp river, which runs adjacent to the property. Carp River is well known for excellent fishing year round. The bay is shallow and great for swimming with your own private sandy beach. Bring your bikes, rollerblades, or take the included six person pedal-bike to ride the scenic paved lakeshore route to Wilderness State Park or Mackinaw City. The house has a huge wrap-around deck, ideal for sunbathing and barbeques. Take a day trip to Mackinaw City and enjoy historic sites, shopping and dining, or a ferry trip to famous Mackinaw Island. spend a day splashing at Water Falls Family Water Park. Ferries run daily from Mackinaw City to world famous Mackinaw Island. Nearby are the popular resort areas of Cross Village, Harbor Springs and Petoskey. Cross the Mighty-Mac Bridge to St. Ignace, freighter boat locks at Sault Ste. Marie, Tahquamenon Falls and the Seney Wildlife Refuge.

Paradise Point is a lovely place to stay right on beautiful Cecil Bay, Lake Michigan
. I grew up going to Wilderness State Park every year as a kid and wanted to get back there without having to go camping. This was just right. The water was crystal clear and even warm enough for swimming because the bay is so shallow. We loved taking the canoe out on the lake on a calm day. The house is also just a few miles up the road from Wilderness State Park with beautiful views, and excellent swimming, hiking and fishing.
In the summertime the sun sets right over the water. Absolutely gorgeous sun sets. Sadly, the firepit was flooded half the time we were there, and then the mosquitos were pretty bad when we finally had a fire. Enjoy the sunset and fire at the same time and you'll be all set.
Despite it's appearance, the house is only one level as the lower floor is an unfinished basement. The three bedrooms and TWO BATHROOMS (not one as it appeared in the ad) were plenty spacious for us (4 adults and 3 kids). Having a washer and dryer on site was very helpful.
The televisions are nice (satelite tv and radio), but the appliances are older and quirky. Other than the appliances, the only reason I can't give five stars is that the place isn't built to fully enjoy the view from the indoors.
We completely enjoyed our stay and I definitely recommend the place to others.
