Iron Resort is a great place for me to stay when I am working up in the Mountains. I usually stay there between 5-10 a year.
The rooms are great, and I really feel comfortable with the how the staff makes me feel at home. |

| I've stayed at many studio units at Iron Horse, and this one is the best. Many upgrades made for a wonderfully pleasant stay. Top floor, nice view. The staff was very accommodating, and a pleasure to work with. Looking forward to staying at Iron Horse again. |

| well, i have already talked to you about how bad our stay was. the mgr. of the hotel called me and said that she would get back with me.......... so far no call back. at least 1 month has gone by. well as far as the hotel, it needs to be taken care of on the off season. people like myself and others that come up on the off season should be able to enjoy the stay just like on season. i told her about how bad the stay was...all she said was she had no idea this had happened! what kind of employee would not tell the mgr. that someone had a bad stay and they should contact them and try to make a bad thing better in some way or another. this only shows how bad things have gotten. i came back to the hotel 4 to 5 times before and had a great time.... but i will never return again since this last stay. i know this is a harsh thing to wright but... IT IS THE TRUTH. i will be waiting for another call back after you read this like last time...or not. todd morgan. |

I am confused about the lack of communication you mentioned. You and I discussed these topics at length in December and I was under the impression that all was resolved. As I remember, your items of concern in December were construction in the area, debris on the property, and dead trees. I will address your concerns again.
Our "off season" falls during the few months that we are able to complete our construction projects before winter quickly approaches. This previous summer we had many construction projects happening at once. While we try to locate our guests in areas of the property where they will be inconvenienced the least, there are times when this is not feasible.
Last winter was a record snowfall year and as the snow gradually melted through, the spring trash becomes uncovered. Throughout the spring, the staff spends countless hours picking up trash. We attempt to comb the area as much as possible every day as the snow melts, but sunnier days will expose more and more debris... a lot of locals actually enjoy exploring the ski area in the spring with metal detectors trying to find lost treasures! The Mountain Pine Beetle epidemic has spread over the last 10 years, devouring upwards of 90% of the Lodge Pole Pines in Colorado. While the majority of Grand County has seen the effects of this outbreak, The Iron Horse Resort has very few infected trees. Engelmann Pines, Blue Spruce and Douglas Fir are the predominate trees on our property. We wish we could change the dead and fallen trees. I think that anyone in the valley, or the majority of the state of Colorado would wish the same. There is much debate how the epidemic came about in the first place. Some say it is mother natures way of thinning out the forest, some say its been here since the 70's.
If you have further concerns, please feel free to call us at 800-621-8190 and ask for the Sales & Marketing Department so that I may further assist you. |
