| After looking over several places to stay in Estes Park for our honeymoon, my wife and I happened upon windcliff just by a google search. We are very happy we did, as it offered EXACTLY what we were after; a quiet setting with a great view where we were able to relax and unwind. The unit was located in a perfect location for a GREAT view of the mountains, and the hot tub was very nice. The cabinets had many spices we needed already, which was very nice, and there were complimentary snacks/coffee waiting on us upon arrival. One morning it snowed and we awakened to a herd of elk right in front of the home. In addition, a few mule deer does frequented the location. There was plenty of firewood, more than adequate for our week stay. It is located very close to Rocky Mountain National Park, and only a very short drive (less than 10 minutes) from Estes Park. The staff at Windcliff were very nice and genuinely care about the people renting their properties. All in all, one of the best experiences I have ever had on a vacation. |

| The Breiding home that we visited in August was charming. The home was quite similar to the Cedar lower home, that we visited in September 2008, in that they were both spacious and accomodating. I liked the lay-out of the Cedar home better than the Breiding (second bedroom had an adjoining, roomier bathroom at the Cedar home whereas the other was disconnected and smaller and the kitchen in the Cedar home was easier to cook in). We had a hot tub behind the residence that gave us privacy and the sun room next to it was fun. The first two days were used to acclimate to the elevation and we used lots of amenities to keep us busy (board games, dominoes, television, sun room, deck, etc.). Speaking of the deck, that was a favorite of ours and our guests. Two words...the view! The home was easy to get to but a little tricky getting out of the garage with a big suv. On the nearly last day the water heater blew a fuse and the staff responded quickly and courteously. The only two complaints we had with the stay was the bed in the master bedroom was very hard and uncomfortable and after an attempt to fix the wireless internet, we still were not able to use our phones to connect to the internet for the entire stay (not a deal breaker but was inconvenient). All in all, if you are looking for some r&r and breath-taking views, this is a great place. |

The house is beautiful. It sits high up on the hill with an awesome view of the
Rockies. I loved the deck -- which goes all along the "view-side" of the
house. The house comes with a hot tub, although we never got to use it. The
rooms are all decent-sized and it was great to have two bathrooms! The beds
were comfortable. We cooked breakfast each morning, and we found most of
what we needed (like salt and pepper, spices, cooking oil etc) in the kitchen
cabinets. The only downside is that that the driveway is narrow and shared by
3 families. If there is another car sitting outside the garage, space gets pretty
tight.

| Virtually every aspect of our stay at Windcliff was top notch. The check in was speedy and the staff was very friendly. The Breiding Upper was located near the top of the mountain and the views were stunning to say the least. The Breiding was very clean and well decorated. We cooked every meal there utilizing the grill extensively. The kitchen was very well stocked and the spice rack had lots of options. The hot tub was put to good use every night and the starry skies were absolutely gorgeous. We had stayed the year before in a hotel in Estes and wanted to do something different this year and found Windcliff Properties. The extra money was well spent on the Breiding and I would give it big thumbs up. You can't go wrong here!! |

| The enormous deck overlooks the most spectacular views of the Rockies that I have ever seen. There are also great windows throughout the home so that the views can be enjoyed from the inside as well. The home itself was very nice, a bit outdated, but well-maintained. Overall, we would HIGHLY recommend this property and would love to return. |

"Wind Cliff" accurate descriptor |

My wife and I spent a week at WindCliff (Breiding Upper) and really enjoyed the place. The rooms were spacious, the kitchen was well-stocked with cooking untensils and supplies, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the views were stunning.
The issues we had were that when one stays at Windcliff, it is very difficult to do things like go for a walk. Because the unit is 700 feet above the paved road and there are no flat spots to walk, driving was the only way to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Walking was OK going down, but the steep roads and switchbacks coming back up make this an activity for only the fittest individuals. If you want to stroll around the forest or walk to a coffee shop, this is not the place for you. A trip to town, only a few miles as the crow flies, is a 20-30 minute adventure.
The steepness of the roads caused me great concern in the event of heavy snows. They are all dirt and appear to be well maintained, but the drops off the sides were precipitous and frightening. I can only imagine what it would be like trying to navigate the road in the dark and in a snowstorm. I am only glad that we did not face that challenge.
The wind is constant, as one might expect when clinging to the side of a mountain. The unit was well constructed, and we didn't have much wind-howling noise, but standing on the deck would have been a perilous exercise.
On the plus side, the views, as I mentioned earlier, were fabulous. Seeing the top of the Continental Divide gather the sun each morning as well as putting old Sol to bed each night was a one-off experience. I'm not sure where else you could get views like that.
But be sure to bring a good book, because if you ever tire of the views, you'll be looking for things to do. And walking to town is not a very practical solution to that dilemma.
While we enjoyed ourselves, its unlikely we will return. A place with a little better access is what we will seek on our next trip. |

Thanks very much for your detailed review. We are glad that you enjoyed our wonderful views and the Breiding home.
Our location on Ram's Horn Mountain just outside of Estes Park town limits allows us to have awesome views, but the tradeoff is that we are a mountainside location. Our location gives us great seclusion from the hustle and bustle of town. Our private roads are maintained in excellent condition winter and summer, including regular snowplowing when needed. Winds are a factor mostly in the winter when snowstorms move through the area, typical for the mountains. Access to downtown Estes Park is very easy, about 15 minutes by car from the Brieiding Upper or any other home in our development. |

| A quiet Christmas at Windcliffe was what we were searching. It was indeed that for us. We were there for 7 nights and didn't leave the house for 4 days. We had a glowing fireplace, movies, books, and music. We enjoyed the hottub and the beauiful Colorado sky and mountains. Regular service to the tub is provided which is a good example of the care provided.(suggest taking big towells) The grill worked great for our kabobs on Christmas. The highlight was when over 50 elk grazed and rested by our house late one afternoon. The snow falling on the mountains was beauiful to watch. It was a relief to learn it doesn't accumulate as we are accustomed in NE. We hope to return again. |

The house was all it advertised itself to be. It was beautifully furnished and the views were spectacular. We saw deer each morning as they grazed across our yard and were entertained by the most charming squirrels. The evenings were perfets with little artificial lights to block the awesome views of the stars. We will definately make another trip to Estes Park. Thank you for the super hospitality! |

Four of us stayed at the subject property primarily to have access to the "bugling" elk.
It was quite clean, although somewhat dated.
It is quite spacious, has a large full kitchen and an extraordinarily good view from its mountain perch. TV, stereo, etc. worked well, as did all kitchen appliances. Parking is adequate, although it would be tight for a large SUV. It is only a few minutes from downtown Estes Park. We would rent it again. |
